State of the Alliance

This week has seen membership numbers for the Siberian Tiger Alliance drop to 178 as the last few days of the recruitment freeze take effect. The average nation strength and total nation strength continued to climb steadily reaching just over 27000 and just under 4.8 million respectively.

In domestic news it has been a busy week. Jyrinx completed the new academy program and it was brought online this week to coincide with the lifting of the recruitment freeze. Within a few days of implementation the new cadets have begun to file in and we look forward to a new batch of graduates in the coming weeks. Thanks to Jyrinx for his efforts in putting this together and its seamless implementation during the week.

Lizzardtheone stood down from the Consilium Tigris during the week citing time constraints due to increased activity in the other realm. I’d like to thank Lizzardtheone for his work whilst in the Consilium and also with the recruitment department prior to his promotion. His activity will be sorely missed and we hope, when time permits, he can return to a role in the alliance soon. Rakari was promoted to the Consilium to replace Lizzardtheone. Rakari will take over the Admissions department and we are confident that she will do an excellent job.

Due to Rakari’s promotion to the Consilium a vacancy was created in the Siberian Guard. Skippy was promoted to the Guard after passing his exams and now looks after a Division within the alliance. Again, we are confident that Skippy will be a great asset to the Guard and the alliance in his new role.

This week also saw a number of members of the Siberian Tiger Alliance presented with the STA Award for Valour. Blitza, Mercatore, Aimee Mann, Hiyouuk, King Rick, St.Augustine and TheRebel were all presented with the award for answering the call to defend a member of the alliance attacked by a group of nuclear rogues. These members along with previous recipients of the award, Jyrinx and Bzelger, stepped into the fray and absorbed nuclear attacks to assist their fellow alliance member in a manner reflecting the dedication of the Siberian Tiger Alliance to come to the aid of a fellow tiger regardless of the damage their nation may take. On behalf of the alliance I thank the abovementioned members for their prompt and selfless response to the call to arms to defend Skippy.

In the Siberian Trophy the top flight has moved into the second half of the season. Bamburgh FC remains on top of the table with a two point break over Condatis Town FC despite a shock home loss to FC Tigris Altaica on Saturday. Batch sits 2 points further back with FC Tigris Altaica still off the pace 4 points behind Batch. At the foot of the table Team Waycool continues to struggle with a solitary win from their 11 matches. Rebel United fills the second relegation place a point behind FC Polar Samurai and Togashire FC.

In the Cup Division Mushroom Kommune moved clear into top spot on the back of a 5-1 win over Archers and FC Lviv being held to a 1-1 draw at Mercers. FC Lviv still have a tight grip on the second promotion place with an 8 point gap to third places FC Pinky. In the relegation zone The Tainers remain rooted to the foot of the table after a 4-1 defeat during the week at Blitzas11 Angry Men while Archers are now a game adrift of third-from-bottom Muzza Bizza United as Capo Salmon move up the table after recording a long overdue win.

Striking Tigers remain the team to beat in the Plate Division holding a 5 point lead over second places Eagles after another comfortable win during the week, this time over Fryktinngytende. Eagles scored a comfortable win which has kept the pressure on Striking Tigers and remains 4 points clear of third placed Kelton. At the bottom of the table Agnus Avengers scored their first win under their new manager to move up to third from bottom at the expense of Wolverines who drew with FC Shadow. FC CaVala remains at the foot of the table three points behind Wolverines and face a tough game away to in-form Kelton on Saturday.

The Tiger Trophy concluded during the week with Batch taking out the competition with a 2-1 aggregate win after winning by that margin in the return leg. A new cup competition commences on Tuesday, the Twinkie Cup, with a random draw to give lower league nations a greater chance of progressing deeper into the cup competition.

In foreign affairs news the Siberian Tiger Alliance has had to deal with the fallout from the Kronos situation. Despite a deal being struck earlier in the week the issue lingered on when that agreement was reneged on by The Order of the Paradox at the behest of Kronos. The Siberian Tiger Alliance were disappointed with the manner in which the issue was handled but pressed on to achieve a resolution despite the hurdles placed in our way.

This week we also began talking to an alliance about a treaty upgrade. We hope to have moved along on this by the next State of the Alliance address.

In military news the Siberian Tiger Alliance has again been dealing with nuclear rogue issues. The issue with Kronos was resolved during the week and White Majik peacing out with my nation closed the issue as far as the STA is concerned.

A collection of three nations decided to go rogue on Skippy earlier in the week. With the war slots on the rogue open our members selflessly stepped into the fray to defend out member and quickly took down the rogues. One rogue continues to fight on while the others have given up the ghost.

Overall, the week has been an eventful one. The alliance continues to grow stronger and with the recruitment freeze over and the cadet program in place we look forward to growing larger as we take in graduates from the academy whose nations are well primed to grow rapidly and efficiently. Our members continue to answer the call to defend our members who are attacked by rogues and we continue to remain true to our foreign policy and beliefs as an alliance.

Your delivery of 500 crates of Chaykovsky-baked Twinkies is scheduled to leave Izhevsk International Airport tonight. :P Also, I'm looking forward to the Twinkie Trophy. ZavU has won four in a row and five of its last six, so look out! :awesome:

I guess when you say something enough times it becomes true. Glad to see an alliance your size not having to recruit new nations constantly to maintain a fair amount of growth, though; does the "as last few days of the recruitment freeze take effect" mean that you'll restart the open recruiting soon?

Yes, we have re-started recruitment however the new academy process will mean any evidence of this will take some time to appear.
