Eggman Empire Posted November 29, 2009 Report Share Posted November 29, 2009 The fighting between the Federal Republic of Grøenlandia and the communist break-away province of Osea had been closely observed by the Eggman Empire. The initial Eggman response to the rebellion was the quiet transfer of funds and supplies to FRG. However, the aid was somewhat paltry as the Empire was in the mood to hedge it's bets. Since the FRG and it's allies had fought Osea into an uneasy standstill-truce, the action had somewhat died down. However, thanks to a quiet backdoor meeting, permission was granted, and the Eggman military machine kicked into full gear. After receiving permission from the FRG government, The Eggman Empire has launched an independent strike force to the break-away region of Osea. The Eggman Empire has a very dim view of unstable communist countries along it's border, especially ones that are fighting to abolish the official government another country. Therefore, we are honoring our MDP treaty with FRG and launching an attack to retake Osea and stomp out the Communist uprising. Should we end up annexing the contested territory as part of our own country, we state that this is completely inconsequential and it totally unplanned. Thank you for your time.Phil Ryst; Head Minister of Defense ----- In the early morning hours, the defenders of the Osea-Eggman borders were awakened by a nasty surprised: The 37th "Bloody tread" and 12th "rolling thunder" Tank Brigades from the 4th Mechanized Division, supported by most of the 9th Ex Division rolling across the border. In addition to ground forces, dozens of HammerHead gunships buzzed through the sky like angry wasps. Down the southern coast line, sea-side towns, garrisons, and ports were abruptly awakened by the thunderous pounding of 18-inch Eggman Imperial Navy warships. Surrounded safely by dozens of cruisers and destroyers, Troop ships loaded with elements of the 10th and 2nd Marine Divisions, waiting to disembark onto beaches and shores so they could clear the way for more landings. In addition to that, wave after wave of F/A-18E/F Super Hornets roared inland. Their mission:Destroy any airpower and anti-air defenses the Oseans might have. The battle had commenced! The ministry of defense expects to fully subjugate the Osea province by the end of the week. However, these are mainly last-stand holdout sectors that were heavily fortified before our invasion and will quickly be neutralized by the end of the campaign. In addition, a battalion from the 9th Ex Div was mauled by a sudden counter attack in their sector and lost a fair amount of troops. Fortunately, the counterattack was repulsed and ground was regained. Now, elements from all battle groups have formed up in the north and are now called "Army group B." It's expected that the pocket facing Army Group B will be completely crushed within two days. Absolute Desolation supercarrier battlegroup, has also launched several small landings on the southern part of Osea in order to divert the remaining communist forces away from the main portion of the 12th Marine and make it easier to conquer the rest of the province. The Osea province is now under Eggman Empire control. Casualties(total): 37th Tank Brigade:15 tanks destroyed; 13 immobilized.24 APCs destroyed; 30 immobilized. 146 troops dead, 183 wounded. 14th Tank Brigade:16 tanks destroyed; 11 immobilized.17 APCs destroyed; 31 immobilized. 172 troops dead, 241 wounded. 9th Ex Division elements: 5 tanks destroyed; 2 immobilized. 9 APCs destroyed; 15 immobilized. 326 troops dead, 204 wounded. 10th Marine division:2 tanks destroyed; 7 tanks immobilized.6 APCs destroyed; 13 immobilized. 82 troops dead, 101 wounded. 12th Marine division: 9 tanks destroyed; 9 immobilized. 11 APC destroyed; 17 immobilized. 120 troops dead, 231 wounded. Total combined casualties of Army Group B:47 tanks destroyed; 42 immobilized. 67 APCs destroyed; 106 immobilized. 846 troops dead; 960 wounded.
