The Scottish King fails to recognize the soverignty of England. A message has been sent to all Catholics of the kingdom to flee North or to Ireland for safe haven from the demons of England.

We ask the Church to excommunicate these paganostic pigs.

- His Majesty, King James II of Scotland

Ryhan Kay has set sail to the Scottish mainland from the Isle of Man. He takes with him 900 soldiers and hopes to port to find many more. The entire kingdom has begun for war.

Anselm Albrecht, acting as King of the unified Germany, issued an edict to allow any Catholics of the kingdom of England who are unable to flee to Scotland into Germany. Any Catholic Englishmen who wish to return to Scotland will be protected in Germany until it is safe for them to cross back into Scotland.

We pray for Scotland.

Greetings Sovereign of Scotland,

I am Arthur, true Sovereign of Wales, I and my men are engaging in a campaign to liberate our homeland. If you are willing to assist us in this endeavor by providing military aid, food, supplies, and economic support; we will likewise pledge our support to you in your efforts to undermine the false sovereigns of England. That said, I offer you an alliance of mutual defense and support. What is your response?

While we have not been in contact with the British Isles, France sends her well wishes for Scotland to unify the island to our north. Our only hope is that you are as peaceful and as content as rulers with your neighbors, perhaps not as much to the people you have set out to conquer.

I plan to conquer the Kingdom that has shown me nothing but war for the past century. We shall now return the favor to these heretics.

We cannot commit to a war between the Welsh people. This is a fight you must do on your own. If you wish to send men to the English front, I can promise the entirety of the Welsh people they shall not see war from England ever again.

In Belgrade,

After word of the situation reaches King Nikolai, his reply was simple:

"It is deeply saddening to hear that such unfortunate situations have come about in faraway lands. Were those involved followers of the path of the Great Goddess, then we are certain that none of this would ever occur.

We implore all involved, in the name of the Goddess, to seek a solution to avoid needless bloodshed. Those who the Goddess hath put forth upon this earth are a part of her, let no man taketh that which dost not belong to them without just cause."

England has (OOC 24 hours) to respond to us and recieve our terms...Or we shall further invade.

The Iroquois, had they even known about this, would have simply commented briefly before passing on.

OOC: Have you PM'ed Freakwars about this?

In any case, you'll still need someone to RP resistance for it to be legitimate.

What are your terms?

Also, while previous Kings may have warred with your people, the current King has no wish to do so. In fact, he attempted to open diplomatic channels a while ago, so that the grievances between our peoples could be redressed and peace in the Isles could be maintained. However you refused to even consider the chance of peace.

Things Scotland(or her allies) do not know

5,000 men (basically the whole royal army) have been moved to reinforce the current garrison of 1,000 men in the castle closest to the Scottish Border. 50 mounted knights march with them. The soldiers of the various nobles will be gathered near Londinium, so that the King can lead them against the Scottish-Irish invaders, if it comes to that.

OOC: I'm using barracks as analogues to castles. Also FYI, since my tech level dictates an early England, most of the Kingdom is Viking-style.

How can we keep your word? You are untrustworthy people. We shall preemptively take the fighting to your lands. See how you enjoy your country being war torn.

That is, unless you accept the following terms:

1. No standing army may be present in the holdings of York or above.

2. A public aplogy for the years of harsh treatment against me and my Celtic brothers.

3. A payment of 50% of two full whole rotations of crops.

4. We are to take 6 of your flag ships.

Those are our terms, not negotiable.

- His Majesty, King James II of Scotland

Ryhan Kay has organized his army into 3 factions, each 3000 each strong. He along with the rest of the army will walk the several miles from the border to the castle dependent on the reaction given by the King of England.

The Norsemen of Denmark-Norway conducting exodous operations in the Danelaw heard of the surrender terms, "Six of their flagships? Telling them where to direct their troops? These terms are ridiculous, not to mention they infringe on their sovereignty. And how are they to feed their people when half of their crops are gone? Sounds like the groundwork for either genocide or another invasion."

"So be it."

Ryhan Kay mounted the rock. Standing above the crowds, he looked down at his soldiers and raised his voice.

"The English are scared, men. They are scared that we'll finally be the ones in charge. Lets show them how it feels. Lets show them what its like to cower. Lets take charge, and MAKE OUR WAY THE NEW WAY OF THE BRITISH ISLES.

FOR COUNTRY. FOR FREEDOM."

He raised his sword above all else, and leaped from the hieght of the rock, leading his men into a dastardly charge through Hadrian's Wall. The 9000 strong army marched its way through the wall, tkaing any on-foot patrols as prisoners. "The cowards hide in the castles" Ryhan spat as he slowed his pace 2 liometers into England. He began to organize his men back into ranks, and set out for the closest castle in England.

Deep in the imperial castle in the capital Tórshavn, King Kenneth was busy tearing off the meat from a bone. He was washing it down with some fine wine when Alexander, his Advisor on Scottish Relations approached. "Sir," he muttered before bowing, "we have received news that the Scottish intend to attack England. We have no obligation to help in their invasion, but we are of course great friends. What, in your infinite wisdom, do you suggest we do?"

"Tell General Wallace to ready the troops."

-------------------------------------------------------------

For a week Wallace had ridden around the island nation, raising troops. While over 40,000 men were trained soldiers, only 5,000 were on duty guarding the capital at any time. He had raised the 10,000 foot troops asked of him by the King, and was overseeing the preparation at the port. Over a hundred vessels were readying themselves to transport these men. Barrels and sacks of beer and grain were loaded on board, and squires struggled to restrain the knight's horses. Indeed, 200 knights and 15 trebuchets were also being loaded. By the late afternoon, the ships were loaded and Wallace himself was the last man to board. When the King finished his speech the boats departed, guarded by 4 warships. They would arrive in Northern Scotland in a week.

They would arrive in Northern Scotland in just a few days.

The warships would detach when they reached London and the rest of the fleet would sail with hopefully favorable winds. London would be blockaded.

Five Thousand Five Hundred men, including Fifty Knights, lead by Sir Lancelot of the Round Table began to gather in the town of Walton in Wales, just across the western English Border from Monkland. Sir Galehaut was directed to command an equally sized force in the town of Pant, just outside of Northwood England. The Forces were instructed to gather in as clandestine a fashion as possible so as not to alert the English to hostilities mounting on yet another border. The forces committed constituted approximately half of all of Wales' fighting forces. They were given instructions to hold firm, pending an active war between Scotland and England.

Reference Map

Each army consisted of the following:

50 Full Plated Knights at Arms

3000 Foot infantry Pikes/Swords/Frankish axes

1000 light mounted cavalry

500 Longbow Archers

250 Crossbow Archers Mixed Heavy/Light

100 Men supporting Roman Era Scorpions manning 50 actual batteries.

500 Siege Engineers + equipment and mounted haul supports.

150 Other supports (Slings, basic self-defense) Cooks, hunters, squires.

Meanwhile, intelligence operatives from Wales are traveling to both Scotland and England to report on troop movements. (I have odds on everyone in theatre.) The few captured would kill themselves giving no hint of their loyalties.

A declaration went out among the people.. prior to the start of the war.

1. Any peasant, in the homeland or in occupied lands, serving more than 2 years in the Army of Wales or in active resistance against non-welsh sovereign occupancy shall receive an allotment of land over which he or she shall be made Lord or Lady in the domain of their residence to call their own.

2. Any noble serving in like fashion shall receive representation with the Knights of the Round Table to voice their concerns and grievances with the Sovereign.

3. Anyone found engaging in traitorous acts against the Crown shall first be heard in the courts in their defense.. and if found guilty by the appointed judge shall be drawn and quartered after interrogation.

4. Prisoners of War shall be kept for up to 60 days or until exchanged, afterward they shall be considered abandoned by their Sovereign and hung from the gallows.
