Stefano Palmieri
OOC: Thar ye go. OOC: Thank you IC: Artillery started pounding the Johto Positions. After approximately 1 hr, under cover of the Artillery the first wave of 30,000 Libyan Troops with 200 tanks started to assault the Johto troops. Meanwhile the Mechanized groups had completed the encirclement. Now all they had to was wait.
Sargun II
The second Carthaginian army of 30,000/900 troops/tanks abruptly diverted course and the two groups made their way to the capital with little resistance. Immediately, enough electronic assault was launched with three e-bombs sending a pulse through 36 square kilometers in and around the city. With power down, the troops started their advance. Five squadrons of F-22s supported the initial advance with air superiority tactics. //OOC: there you go reeki
Markus Wilding
As the Carthage troops advanced, one last call was shouted out. In Arabic, it meant "For the Empire!" and they did just that. They set up for their fina lassault, and when the Carthage troops got close enough to God-King Sulieman's Holy Temple, it happened. The single cruise missile built for defense in the war was detonated, with several pounds of 4 strapped to it. Kahled al-Fulani and God-King Sulieman were in the temple, where the missile was detonated. OOC: I'll let you RP the damage, I'm assuming my force is wiped out. Sargun II
The Carthaginian troops were, by and far, superior. They had superior technology, superior air coverage, superior numbers, superior tactics and indeed superior superiority. The Carthaginian tanks could withstand most arms fire from anti-tank rounds and as the Johto tanks were disabled they had little trouble maneuvering through the tighter spaces of urban combat. Only a handful of tanks (twenty seven by all accounts) were disabled and only four were destroyed. Infantry casualties were far higher. In fact, it was hard to distinguish between civilians and soldiers and the hesitation - their unwillingness to kill civilians was a con here - led to a high casualty rate. Close to eight thousand Carthaginian soldiers died that day, most of them in the last assaults that took place in high-density areas. Air superiority had its advantages - they could call in artillery strikes very precisely and having support from birds in the air was key to maximizing the advance through the city. The government buildings were taken quickly and most of the government held at gunpoint. When they approached the Holy Temple a team of sixty four men went inside, heavily armed and with shields. A small non-nuclear EMP device was detonated to destroy any electronics that were initially shielded, if any. Unfortunately, the effect was more widespread than they imagined and they were unable to shoot the missile down. As the missile exploded, the entire Temple collapsed atop the team and several nearby buildings were damaged as well, some of them collapsing. The men in the temple were killed immediately, two tanks flanking the building were destroyed and close to three hundred soldiers garrisoning the buildings around it died. It was a waste of life. ----- "Your God-King is dead. Your city is captured. Your forces elsewhere are surrounded. Sign it!" A Carthaginian general held out a piece of paper signifying the unconditional surrender that Johto was to give to Carthage. He waited. Markus Wilding
"We'll sign it! Get the gun out of my face!!" The lowly leuitenant on the field quickly signed it then said, "We need a radio to contact the others, so that they will know we surrendered." Sargun II
The General threw the radio to the Lieutenant and smiled. "This is what happens when you destabilize Africa - we stabilize you." The man laughed and called up President Obama, who ordered the annexation of territory, the throwing of the Johto government in a prison and for an immediate crackdown. //OOC: I just want this over with, damn the details
