This question in various forms often pops in Q&As MK has with other alliances, and I thought it would be interesting to see what kind of responses it garnered here.

I'm including all the top 40 alliances plus other well known ones. Rate what you think of all these alliances on a 1-10 scale, 10 is really awesome and 1 is really terrible (OOC: IC dislike, you don't have to hate the players /OOC).

Heh. Heavily colored by personal likes & dislikes, very little about skills. Oh well

As of today:

TOP - 7 Really knows their stuff, has some people I love (Dr Dan, Timberland etc)

MHA - 5 I like the theme, & they did the best they could in a lose/lose situation. Also, WCR & jerdge really know where their towels are.

Sparta - 3 Past history

NpO - 8 They are resilient, and I like how they conduct themselves.

IRON - 8 Best friends forever <3 Has many folks that I like too.

ODN - 4 Cataduanes gives a +1, also they *seem* to have found a spine

FARK -6 Very organized & professional, from what I can tell.

GPA - 3 Don't know them, don't find them all that interesting either, glad they provide a home for a certain kind of folk though

NPO -5 They're all right.

FOK - 6 The crazy Dutch warmongers I like that, they are up front & fun guys

MK -8 May frequently be on opposite sides, but they really have their stuff together. Very solid alliance, skilled in all departments. (has a couple members of my dream gov)

WTF - 3 Who?

TOOL - 5 I like what I have seen, but don't know them very well.

TDO - 3 Who?

VE - 3 Not as bad of late, but never did dig Moral Crusader types

Legion -6 My first home. Has made some impressive rebounds, found their own identity, & prospered. Good allies too.

RoK - 6 Miss you guys (does the pistol hands)

GATO -5 All right. Sturdy, don't know much else about them though.

CSN - 4 Hardly know them.

Athens - 4 Was a lot higher, don't like some of the more recent stuff.

Gremlins - 5 Some things I like a lot about them, balanced out by the Moral Crusader elements.

MCXA - 5 They're all right.

UPN - 5 They're all right.

RIA - 5 Had been pretty meh, but their guys I met during the war were way cool, lot of fun folks.

STA - 4

Invicta - 5 Have some good guys, might be higher pre-stickmen drama though

RnR - 4 hardly know them

MASH - 6 Respectable, easy to get along with, nice folks.

NADC - 4 Don't know them

WAPA - 5 My dealings with them have been brief but cool. Still, hardly know them.

NV - 6 Very classy

NSO - 6 They interest me greatly, have some cool folks, and are ballsy

NEW - 6 heh, I don't remember what, but they did something I really liked, the impression stuck in my head if not the deed

MA - 4 I miss KaitlinK

Umbrella - 5 They're all right

FAN - 6 Resilient, good propaganda too

LoSS - 0 Asking for a treaty pre-war, only to pump us for info *right* before a war then drop us, THEN making it sound like we held a gun to their head to get treatied in the first place??? <insert Trash Can icon here>

TSO - 3 I really don't like how they did MCXA.

NATO - 4 I like them okay.

Nordreich - 6 Has some good guys, very pleasant, organized

GR - 4

Vanguard - 6 I don't often agree with them, but they have guts. I am a big fan of guts Also, they are good fighters. And they have Thal

GOD - 5 Same as Vanguard, minus the Thal

FoB - 4 Don't really know them

PC - 6 I like them, they are a fun bunch to roll with.

TOP - There's no point in me rating TOP, bias ahoy.

MHA - 8, This would be an nine, but they are allied to Gramlins, who TOP intends to betray.

Sparta - 4, We just don't seem to see eye to eye after the Karma war. No blame, just fact.

NpO - 6.5, Cause I like honesty and intelligence but also has some @#$% in it. I've given them an extra half point because I don't think there's any real malice behind the hater's hate.

IRON - 9, Joint cool dudes in my eyes.

ODN - 5, I know them but have entirely neutral/bland feelings about them.

FARK - 7, Proper nice folks. Would have a beer with them.

GPA - 2, What's the point of a neutral alliance in a war game. I still feel bad for ganging up on you with NPO and Q though, so have an extra point.

NPO - 2, Yeah, I'm not going to like you guys for a really long time. One + point for a new emperor.

FOK - 9, FOKFOKFOKFOKFOKFOKFOKFOKFOKFOKFOKFOK are just awesome.

MK - 6, I'm realistic here, I like MK and I love hanging out with them but we aren't OMGHI2ULOL<3BBFS. And that's the way it is, for now.

Legion - 4, I've only just got over GW3 hate of them, they need to be better as an alliance before I could think better of them.

RoK - 6, I feel that given their protraction of certain fronts of the Karma war should make me dislike theses guys... I just don't, so there.

GATO - 4, They seem a pointless empty shell to me.

Athens - 6, I've got no beef with them and Londo seems a decent fella.

Gremlins - 9, Part time lovers.

MCXA - 5, I've no real opinion on them even though I know them well enough.

UPN - 5, We fought them in Karma and they left no impression.

RIA - 6, They're alright.

STA - 5, We've never seemed to ever be in the same circle of friends and yet have never war-ed one another... I find that a bit odd really.

Invicta - 6, Only because they are named after a radio station in Kent where I grew up. Ironically, "Invicta" means "undefeated"...

RnR - 7, The coolest guys and gals that I know little about (my fault for being lazy I guess).

TSO - 10, Really an eight but I'm going to bump up the average from all the haters out there. I find them good folks, so there.

NATO - 6, I think these folks got the raw-est deal out Q/Karma, so they get a sympathy point.

Nordreich - 5, New Nordreich has done nothing to piss me off. Like most people in the game I have a "Natural Bias" against them, but Medrut was a decent fella and he went to these guys.

Vanguard - 6, We ain't going to be best friends too soon but the treaty cancellation dramas were years ago now, I'm over it.

GOD - 5, Of no personal interest to me, sorry.

PC - 3, Seems like a grouping of special folks from where I'm sat that has yet to do anything to buck that opinion.

Valhalla - 5, Had a dick of a leader. That leader is now gone, therefore I do not care one way or another about them.

GGA - 4, Oh GGA, will you ever get anything right?

TPF - 5, I rather think they should be rebuilding a bit better/faster, No? Otherwise good luck to them.

Will add commentary if anybody actually cares for my opinion (which I can't imagine will happen with all of the numbers being fired off in this thread)

And like everybody else, 5 is a neutral one for me; either meaning I don't know enough about them or I like and dislike things about them equally

TOP - 5 - I love the vast majority as individuals but the alliance as a whole is a mystery to me in terms of direction and intentions. I just don't feel comfortable with them yet.

MHA - 4 - Not dynamic enough, seemed to yield indecision during the war.

Sparta - 6 - I like a few of their members, and their political position for the most part, but I don't think they're utilizing their full potential in the slightest.

NpO - 9 - I can never be 100% sure (or even 80%) of what Grub is saying in his posts because they always come off as indirect but I still greatly enjoy him and the alliance and am thankful for our treaty.

IRON - 3 - In simple terms, they moved on from NPO to TOP.

ODN - 9 - Really turned things around and defined their position. Great members and seem to be more active than ever.

FARK - 7 - I respect their alliance's military standards but I don't really know them well enough to give them anything above a 7.

GPA - 4 - Neutral, don't like as much as WTF.

NPO - 1 - Never had a decent experience with them in 3 1/2 years.

FOK - 9 - Got along with them great during the Karma war, and in terms of stats they're not too bad either.

MK - 10 - See final comment

WTF - 5 - Neutral alliance but knew them to a degree back in Atlantis

TOOL - 3 - Don't like their political position, didn't like their early exit in the war, and they're very boring.

TDO - 3 - My least favourite neutral alliance more or less from various comments in the gameplay section.

VE - 4 - For some reason ever since I left VE I've felt a bit funny about them. I really don't know why.

Legion - 5 - Just a general "5"

RoK - 5 - Things seem to be decent between our 2 alliances right now, they have some members I like, and others I don't.

GATO - 5 - Same as Legion.

CSN - 7 - I love them from when I was in Atlantis and they certainly haven't done anything to change that opinion since then.

Athens - 9 - Great members, funny, and C&G.

Gremlins - 8 - Stick to their guts, disciplined, just a bit of instability over the past few months.

MCXA - 6 - I like their leadership since the TSO split.

UPN - 4 - Purple

RIA - 5 - Don't know them very well and they haven't done anything to warrant a +/- in the rating.

STA - 7 - One of our allies I'm least familiar with but they always seem to be in a position I support.

Invicta - 2 - Least favourite purple alliance, largely due to OWF encounters.

RnR - 6 - A decent alliance I'm vaguely familiar with from the Karma war so one step up from average.

MASH - 5 - Really don't know them.

NADC - 5 - see Gato/Legion.

WAPA - 6 - Familiar with from GR and they're pretty alright.

NV - 8 - Love NV, known them since early GR days and I really enjoy their membership.

NSO - 2 - Annoying OWF encounters mostly.

NEW - 9 - Favourite opponent in any war really, and they have great military discipline.

MA - 4 - Have been annoying in the past but nothing exciting lately.

Umbrella - 8 - Wish I was more familiar with them but they're pretty similar to MK and I like the members I do talk to.

FAN - 6 - Respect more than anything got them the step up from a 5.

LoSS - 6 - I like that they weren't afraid to cancel on everybody and start "fresh" a few months ago.

TSO - 3 - Never liked their gov from MCXA.

NATO - 3 - So stagnant I had to go 2 steps down from a 5.

Nordreich - 5 - Don't know them very well.

GR - 9 - My ex alliance, I love the members there, but they weren't ideal for me which is why I'm in MK. See final comment.

Vanguard - 9 - An amazing ally, strong statistics, great members, not enough OWF presence.

GOD - 5 - See RIA.

FoB - 9 - So glad I've gotten to know them over the past few months. They have a young membership base that knows what it's doing.

PC - 8 - Enjoy the times I've gotten to talk to them in our embassy and on IRC. Good nuclear power.

Valhalla - 3 - Only because they've gotten quieter since the Karma war. I don't like who they hang out with and I've never liked the general attitude of the alliance.

GGA - 2 - They've ruined too many chances to become a better alliance.

TPF - 2 - Similar to Valhalla only they haven't quieted down as much.
