OoC: Sure.

IC: Lance and Maylene excused themselves from Shiznay and walked back to their table. As he sat down, Lance spotted the Pope from the corner of his eye. He excused himself, and proceeded towards Pope Alexis. "Ah, Your Holiness," said Lance, bowing, "As a man of Christian faith, it is an honour to meet you. How is everything in...er...wherever you are now?"

OOC: He's in Jerusalem now. *hinhint*

OoC: It's okay. ;)

IC:

"Ah, finally you noticed us. It's okay, I sometimes do the same thing," said Lance as he shook Shiznay's hand. "Everything's quite okay, though I've been a bit busy thanks to the recent elections. How's everything in Troina?"

Maylene also shook Shiznay's hand. "Nice to meet you. Everything's going fine on our end."

Shiznay quietly went over to the bar for some scotch.

At the mention of the terrorist attack, his smile faded a degree. "Such a tragedy," he remarked neutrally.

"As for these," he touched the scars. "Only painful when I got them. Now I hardly notice them even in the mirror."

He sighed. "Anyway, the Administrator couldn't come hismelf, so he decided to send me instead. I may not be the official leader anymore, but I can still represent my nation." The smile returned full force. "And for some reason, they seemed to think I was falling into a depression, and needed to attend a good party."

Now he eyed the armor. "I would ask you to dance, but in that armor, are you able to move freely?"

"I can dance quite fine, I wouldn't be caught dead in anything that would restrict me in a fight" and to show off her point the Queen Valkyrie stood up and twisted both her arms and legs about as if in a slow dance showing how easy they moved. However, any reply from Jackson was cut off by a female person who had walked in to the ball room and straight over to the talking pair.

"Good choice shame about the others you made" said the other female, turning to see who had interrupted her conversation the Queen Valkyrie caught the sight of a clenched fist before that fist smacked into her exposed face and hurled her backwards into a nearby table causing the table to snap in two under the weight and sending food flying in multiple directions.

Smiling the assailant withdrew the hood from her head revealing her to be a one Motoko Kusanagi the ex ruler of a nation once known as Estovakia. She turned to Daniel Jackson and motioned for him to step back as she took a heavy grip on the seat the Queen Valkyrie had been sitting on and lifted it with barely a grunt before throwing it straight at the Queen Valkyrie who had now stood up with a look of pure anger and hate on her face.

The Queen Valkyrie calmly side stepped the oncoming improvised weapon and crouched into a fighting stance before running full out at Motoko who unable to avoid the attack took it to her stomach allowing the force to push her backwards whilst pushing out with her legs and flipping the armoured Queen over her body and onto the ballroom floor in a sprawled heap.

He had just been about to reply when another woman walked up, and out of the blue, attacked the Helzan Queen.

He wanted to intervene before either of them were thrown out of the ball, but he had to wait for the right moment...there, Kusanagi and Valkyrie were seperate, and before they could rise and begin going at each other again, he stepped between them. "This is not the place for private feuds. This ball is supposed to be a place to relax and enjoy yourself."

He would continue to step between them if they tried to resume the fight.

"Ah yes, the Hansa, out of all the nations in the world, has the most to cry for revenge, but you don't, and I commend your people for that." He then looked up to the sky, "Unfortunately, Nationalism, Pride, and Lebensraum has plagued the world for so long that the people are used to it. Blood and Iron feeds the soil, and revenge feeds the people, as the late Henrik would say. He was as much a Distopyan as we are war hawks."

He smiled and accepted her hands by pulling her a little closer, "I'm an American by birth, a Caucasian by heritage, a Scandinavian by blood, but a human by reality. We're all the same, it's just the mind that's different, and that can be changed." He then looked up at the moon, "The moon is proof that there is always a light at the end of the tunnel, there's always something wonderful in a backdrop of darkness."

He got a little remorseful when he remembed the Hansa were never ones for Europe after all the bad things that had happened, "That's the funny thing about us. Because of our diplomatic standing and our stance on war, we really don't have a need for it, and are peaceful." He grinned, "You can get a taste of every terrain on the peninsula. We have golden beaches, green city parks that are larger than Central Park in new york, and of course, the hempcrete jungle that is almost eighty percent of the peninsula."

He looked out to the pacific also. He's never been south of the equator, he had just realized. Actually, he'd never been south of the tropic of cancer. Some warm weather would do good for him. "Really now, is the water cold down there? Where I've been, the water is so cold your skin shrinks so much you lose a few inches everywhere." He grinned mischievously, but then continued to cover up his innuendo, "I hear the reefs are quite breathtaking down there."

"I guess it is a problem, Valeria. Although, it doesn't exactly mean it has to be the end of the night. There's lots of alcohol and politicians to look at and guess what country they're from." He laughed. He liked this girl, he could finally just be a normal human being. Something he's missed for the past 20 years of his life. She was a soldier, and he was a...well, she put it the best, a prince.

"Now...I do have enough experience to know you're asking me for my number," he grinned. He didn't give out his private number except to politicians he could hang out with, and that number was a resounding zero. He recited his number to her, and then replied, "And yours? I don't want to have to call the Hanseatic Military barracks like some sort of high school kid."

Valeria quickly typed Vince's number into her keypad and then recited her own back to him. "Yeah, I wouldn't want you calling barracks and asking for me. I don't think I'd be left alone for a month if they found out I had a gentleman caller." She chuckled, anything to get over what he had first said about the Hansa deserving revenge against the world. There were still the thin lines that had been drawn on Valeria during the ritual to Nemesis and in her own thoughts and in the thoughts of her countrymen, everything burned for retribution, but that didn't mean pure hatred and Vince was an example of that. She was a warrior and would not think twice to cut down any enemy of the Commonwealth, but this blonde-haired prince was no more her enemy than any random person in that ballroom. Vince wanted a world free of bloodshed, or sadness, but that did not mean that the Hansa would not defend her ideals and desires. Those were things she had no problem in watching the world burn, Valeria would rather see death again, than her country suffer as it had in the past.

But Vince need not worry about that and she kept those feelings to herself. "Well." She said taking his hand. "Care to walk me back in Mr. Sixx? Maybe pick up the next dance if the ball hasn't ended yet?"

He chuckled a little bit, "Hi, I'm Lucas, Lucas Perry. I believe you actually have me hired to find and kill someone who is after you." He smiled a little bit, "I believe thats a good introduction, no suprises. "You're not as hard as you think. Its a face we all have to wear in public, an appearance we have to put on. Its only those truly close to us that understand the way we act and why we do. Its not without reason that I do the things I do. The only thing that gets to me is the fact that sometimes I enjoy it." His tone slipped alittle bit. "This world took alot from me. Now I'm just in it for the ride."

"What about you? What drives you to keep that hard shell up?"

"What drives me?" Hannah said lifting her head into the air for a moment. "Probably that I hate everything about this world and most people that live in it." She sighed. "I normally don't talk to people about my past or my country's past because like I told you before, everyone always has that 'been-there, done-that' attitude about them. Everyone is an elitist $%&@ inside and to be honest, it drives me up the wall." Hannah let him pull her a bit closer so that their faces were nearly touching as she whispered to him. "I don't pretend to be anything, if I'm hard on the outside, then I'm that for a reason, because people like to take advantage of soft people on the outside. They like to whisper sweet nothings in to their ears and promise the world to them. That's what happened to Sarah, this world drove her to what she's become, the world's driven all of us to what we've become and I don't give a damn if I should think a different way."

"I can be soft. I can be nice. But I'll be soft and nice to the people that deserve it. Though its sweet of you trying to warm up to me. Whether you're actually a friend or not, well that's still up in the air. But you're nice right now, so it helps. You're not the only one that the world took !@#$ away from. But like I said, I'm not going to gloat about it, you don't need to hear my sob stories, whether my own or that of my country." She closed her eyes as a single tear ran down her face, while she bit her lower lip tightly. The first thoughts that she just wanted to go home began to cross into her head.

Vince laughed and nodded in agreement. It wouldn't exactly be the kind to cause an international incident, but it would be one to have the tabloids running at full speed. "I really don't know how Erik would react to that, actually, hah."

In all truth, both Erik and Vince watched over each other in certain situations. Erik was Vince's handler socially, helping Vince to cool off and get a life, while Vince watched over Erik in political and diplomatic situations. Neither has had a lot of experience in either, so it took the both of them to be brothers to each other in all those situations. "I would love to dance with you again, Lady Valeria." He took her hand as well and walked her back onto the dance floor gracefully as one of the female senators had taught him.

Feeling the chance to finally achieve her initial goals, and talk to the new leader of the revived Hanseatic Commonwealth, Sakuya took her chance. She approached General Hannah ever so politely, not even letting so much as a step go unsilenced. She didn't want to seem subservient in nature, but wanted to make this approach as friendly as possible. God forbid how wrong some diplomatic situations tended to go.

"Uhm, Miss Hanna? Hi, I'm Sakuya Hayashi. I've been waiting quite awhile to make your acquaintance. I'm the Empress-Consort of the Shinsei Shikkoku Teikoku, the successor to the Hansa's old Russian territory."

She smiled genuinely, and hoped this would go well.

Constance smiles at the Queen and sips a little of her wine,

"Annihilation.. Is in the rebuilding stage. We will have a new leader soon, and a better country. I am helping the new leader to rebuild, and I'm sure we will be happy to engage in diplomatic and economic pacts in the future."

Constance looked around, her blonde hair creating a contrast against her figure hugging halter-neck dress.

"Any decent looking guys around here? I feel like letting loose and dancing and maybe having some fun..."

"Decent looking guys? Well we have several nice looking escorts. They are fun. And you lovely, you could probably getn anyone here. Yet, before that, would mind if we discuss something privately upstairs? Its a simple matter of diplomacy, that's all."

"You know, I would like to see someone like you lead this world. With noone to take advantage of you, noone to cross you, you'd make this world a little better. Sarah tried to be nice but as you said soft people get nowhere when people promise them the world and simply get nothing in the end. I believe you could do alot for this world. And I'm going to make my difference in this world. I'm going to keep you alive, because even though we can enjoy ourselves now, there is a man out there that I still have to hunt down."

His hands fell to his sides and into his pockets as a song ended. He looked at Hannah differently then when that dance began. He smiled at her and said, "I dont think anyone else is capable of the things you can do. Maybe its the face you put on, or maybe its the strength you possess, but I think your outlook on life is different then most. You know whats out there and you know how to handle yourself. We both have our jobs to do, so I'll leave you to do yours."

He nodded at her and made his way to the outside of the ball.

"Ah, everything's currently fine and well in Disparu. The elections have gone fairly well, though to be honest it has generated tons of work. Disparu is still securing the GLS, Letourneau is still preaching in Jubilife, wait...you do know who Letourneau is, right?"

The Pope thought for a moment. "Oh yes, I remember him! He ran against, erm, into me one time. He's a charming person actually. I imagine he's having a pleasant time in Jubilife at the moment?"

President Ned of Nedland finds it ironic that Acca Dacca is holding a National Ball at this time of year; we had one just like it in Nedland around a year ago.

While he is sure that the ball is interesting, President Ned will regretfully be unable to attend. He sends his regards to the queen, however.

"Indeed. He's quite an interesting person. He's still having fun with his work back at Jubilife, and other communities too if they need him," said Lance. "Anyways, I assume that everything is also going well in Jerusalem?"

Constance smiled, finishing her glass of wine and placing it gently on the table.

"Yes, I'm sure I could find anyone here." She twirled around before smoothing down her dress.

"Now, onto diplomacy, shall we continue this discussion upstairs?"
