Centurius Posted October 23, 2009 Report Share Posted October 23, 2009 (Newton, Great Antarctic Protectorate) The eternal Protectorate in Antarctica besides providing a stable climate by keeping an intact continent alone also worked as a nice base for potential terrorists. Over time contracts had been secured to construct a base in Antarctica. What the authorities however didn’t realize what would be constructed in the base. With only 500 Soldiers in the whole Protectorate they wouldn’t ever find out either. --- Jonathan was a normal man, he had a job in downtown Santiago, wasn’t wealthy but could survive, went to the temple as every citizen was supposed to. The perfect example of your average Imperial. Today would be different, it was the most important day of the month at the Imperial Bank in Santiago with hundreds of people withdrawing money due to most companies paying their employees the day before. To hide the bomb he used a long coat it would probably look weird as this time of year the weather was still great. He entered the building walking to one of the employees normally when it was his turn she asked how she could help him. “You can give me all the money in the bank” he replied as he slightly opened the coat showing part of the bomb. Crime was unheard of in the Imperial Union especially in cities the size of Santiago. Now they were dealing with a violent robbery, but wouldn't it be more? So many questions that kept everyone busy. Inside the bank fear was even higher there they knew what they were dealing with. The man was filled with C4 and, with one push on the button all could end. When he looked outside a smile appeared he wasn’t planning on taking the money. “We shall all be set free” that moment the real plan happened pushing the button the explosives detonated in an enormous blast which could be heard far from the scene. --- “We are sorry to interrupt your regular broadcasting, today at 12 am only years after the Chemical explosion a suicide bombing has occurred at the Imperial Bank in Santiago. Police and bystanders report that a man originally planned to rob the bank however something occurred to make him change his plans. The Councilor of Ironwind, Catherine Bloom, has announced an upgrade of the local Threat Level to Severe it is expected Imperial Security will follow with a nationwide upgrade. Both local as national authorities have reassured this is most likely the action of a single person and that the increased security measures are only as a precaution. The Cult did not believe in Earthly things their goal was dead and nothing more. A glorious dead would cause them to be united under their eternal god they believed in a realm where one would live on forever. Their intentions when looking at it were not so bad at all, they just wanted to spread it under the people and get them there too faster. While headquartered in the cold Antarctica its influence spread over the mainland of the Imperial Union with divisions in other nations mostly through the person keeping them secure financially. Large enterprises mostly. All members were indoctrinated that the leader of the Cult was in direct contact with their god, the so called ‘Host’ was never there, outsiders would argue if he existed at all. The Cult had its roots far back written sources describing a similar cult date as far back as the first societies. In the year 1000 ad it disappeared from all records. The Cult would not make that change permanent. The bank was just an example, over the nation 12 additional members would make their presence known, all driving in cars filled with bombs each of them headed for an important point in the nation. An operation carefully timed so the effect would be maximum. Around 5 pm the 12 all arrived at their target, 5 at Buenos Aires, 3 at Santiago and the rest divided over Provincial capitals. Seconds after arrival they detonated their bombs, the initial attacks would manage to cripple Imperial Security across the nation and incapacitate the Advisory Council. Luckily the Empress was safe in her jet towards Santiago when the car drove into the Buenos Aires Imperial Office she was supposed to be normally at the time. With the attack at the bank total deaths were estimated around 1500 with numerous more in the hospitals. By now the Phoenix Guard would take the government not affected to a safe house those in the hospital were put under maximum security. However the fact remained Counter-Terrorism squads were without headquarters and with another bomb at a television station part of the nation would not be sure on what had happened at all. --- ---INN Breaking News--- “Following the attacks today the Empress has announced she will give a speech on the situation in our great Union, we will now go to the live broadcast” The image of the news anchor made place for that of the Empress, in the background several guards could be seen in addition to people walking around busy it was obvious they were still on the jet. “People of the Imperial Union, 1500 dead, thousands of others in the hospital. They are numbers none of us could expect nor can any of us understand. Imperial Security has been left without legs or arms and our counter-terrorism squads will have to regain a base of operations before they can protect our nation. International terrorism has always been unheard of since the foundation of the Imperial Union with only one attack in the past. We are not sure who did this, we are not sure why. What we are sure of is that this nation will fall without the support of her people, do not panic, do not be afraid. As we speak me and my administration are working on a plan of action, as we speak our fine officers are doing what they can to protect the nation. Remain faithful. On that note it is with grave heart that I officially announce a State of Emergency all available forces will be send home and provide protection against further attacks. For the duration all civil rights are suspended and soldiers will be allowed to search homes or preemptively ban people. IC: It had been silent for months after the huge attack that rocked the nation, with the alert level being lowered a normal state returned to the nation. It would soon change back, the Cult knew hitting the cities would be impossible the technology was advanced and detection systems everywhere. They would take it on a different path, the forests of the Imperial Union were filled with natives some didn’t even encounter the Imperials. In addition there were several villages around the cities, executing their plan here would let it get to the cities eventually. So it happened, people in the villages got a strange flu-like illness, the disease spread fast and lethality of it was unknown. The Cult would stay unknown for several weeks after the initial disease, when it was officially declared an epidemic the nation would be aware of the cult. November 7 at exactly 1500 hours all televisions, radios and computers linked to the global network in anyway changed to the emergency government channel. A masked man appeared in the background with 2 armed men behind him. --- People of the Imperial Union, I am the Alpha, I am the Omega. The purge has begun, the world as we know it will change. The Cult of the Damned will liberate the world from their chains. Rise up! To those who oppose us, the Santiago Bank Attack, Day of Fire and the plague are just the beginning. We will liberate the world through the only thing you deserve. A painful death by the hands of the Lich. Do not mourn the dead, they were weak --- At that point the transmission was blocked however the damage was done, an organization only known on Intelligence records was now available for the whole world, the fact they changed their ways only made the group more dangerous. Of course, the flag will be replaced with a holder for the Imperial Union flag. A construction crew is being sent to the Imperial Union, to erect the statue in Santiago.
