Nation of Defiant

Hey everyone, I'm rather new to this and am looking for any tips to help my little nation along :P

This is my nation (Defiant):

Also was wondering about alliances, I've gotten countless generated "join this and get money" messages in my inbox, well that sounds great at first but what strings are attached..

Thanks in advance

Well yeah the best adivce anyone cna give you is to join an alliance. Many diffrent alliances offer different things. Some offer a start up bonus, some are just historically the best. I would suggest you research what alliance is best for you and make an educated choice.

Diplomatic recognition

Minister of Foreign Affairs

Government of Procinctia Foreign Office

The Government of Procinctia formally recognizes the sovereignty of Defiant .

The Government of Procinctia Foreign Office would like to welcome the nation of Defiant to the global community.

It's often a chaotic world, but if Defiant is up for the challenge the potential for fame, fortune, and friends are within your grasp.

I suggest you glance through

Before choosing an alignment.

As far as an alliance, choose an alliance (if any) that best suits you.

Tech raiding is where nations attack you in order to gain tech/land. If you are unaligned then you are a prime target. Lucky for you the game gives you a little time in which you can chose an alliance before you are up to being attacked.

Thanks for the welcome!

So should I choose an alliance, or do I have to because I will get "raided" if I don't? Could you suggest one that would be best, what I need basically is an alliance that will help me out with my nation in tech and other stuff and help with anything military as I have next to nothing at this point in the way of defense, maybe gives some money too?

My suggestion when looking for an alliance, is to search through the recruitment threads found Here.

It may seem harsh that one should join an alliance when they first start the game, but you'll find that alliances make this game so much more enjoyable. You'll be part of a great community, have protection, and have aid that'll grow your nation much quicker than if you tried going it alone.

This type of thread usually goes in the Player Created Alliances Forum.

Check them out here:

A lot of great alliances don't give out money to join. As for strings, they usually involve being minimally active on forums and helping out in wars.

lol, that is almost any alliance that can thoroughly be considered an alliance. As in, more then 10 members and not Liberatian Socialist Federation(sorry guys, but in this case it might be difficult for you at the moment)

and Tetris seems like a good alliance, very similar in strength to TeLF, =] (except we dont have any nukes or members over 2.5k infra)

Good luck there, :D

well, I havent bought land in ages, so I forget that one, but I know that for me, if I buy 10 infra, I get about 100 more people.

So yeah, infra is directly related to population, which is directly related to you income, in that the more people you have, the more people you have paying you.

Which is the basic concept/joke of CN, you could very easily join an alliance that can easily defend you, is rarely in wars, and all you would have to do ever is log on, collect, pay bills, buy infra, maybe fix a trade and log off.

As to other methods, sure, improvements can increase your population, but you need a certain population already to buy more.
