Cerridwyn
-67.00000, -109.00000 = 99% -66.00000, -114.00000 = 99% Starting to wonder if there is a 100% slot this month
Sir Glen
It's really looking like 99% is the best we're going to do this month.
Chocolate Cookies
I just mapped out the 99% locations, and assuming that the latitude and longitude are both whole numbers, -66,-111 should be the center, but it was reported as 99%. Green is 99%, Orange is 98%, Yellow is 95-97%
Lord Emares
I worked it out a few days ago but could only confirm it today -66,-111 is the 100% spot however to actually get 100% you need to input this lat: -66.00000001 lon: -111 The reason for the .00000001 is to take account of floating point errors (someone worked out all of the latitudes that are affected by the floating point errors in the Moon Hotspot thread). Lord Xnut
Confirmed! -66.00000001, -111 = 100% The in game coordinates shows up as X being exactly -66.00000 but the 0.00000001 NEEDS to be added for it to register as 100%. Not like last month where it took forever!
Firstly it's because the figures for last month gave 84% at the start of this month. Hence the quick calculation. And secondly I almost wasted 2mil to change my bases. .

I don't have Mars wonders myself but would like to be able to post a screenshot in the NATO forum for those that do. ~ edit...got it, thanks. Chintan
I've got this awesomeness ready to find the hotspot this Monday: Be on at update on Monday, and we can make this the fastest hotspot search ever. BTW, if anyone has the exact formula for finding the efficiency that gets the floating point error correct, please send it to me, because the formula I'm using now is slightly off. Possible Mars Hotspot Locations (December 2010): Tried a location? Post the result in this thread! Every point helps, even if it gives 50%. Points Tried so far (lat, long): (-48, -111): 87% (-56, -93): 90% Priority Points (try these next): lon=-112&lat=-66.00000001 lon=-86&lat=-43 (If you decide to try a priority point, post here that you're trying it, try it, and post the result, so that someone else doesn't try the same point)

Edited March 1, 2011 by Chintan
Chintan
Ok, here we go. Someone post the efficiency at last month's hotspot to begin, and I'll figure out the best place to test next. I'm going to be logged on for a while, and can calculate the best location to try next, so if you have multiple mars wonders, wait for me to suggest a location, then move 1 wonder, wait for me to suggest another location, then move the next one, etc. That way you get the most out of your moves. Ok, (0,0) is 90% which is really good. Still waiting for someone to post the efficiency of the old hotspot.
