I'm curious, I noticed this topic too late. So december wasn't a very useful marsmonth for me. Let's see what diference it makes when I get the right spot.

-82, -92 gives a percentage of 91

-81.72319, -87.18750 also gives 91%

and -80.90067, -92.46094 gives 92%

Okay but can someone explain to me how that equation works? I saw the math problem but don't understand what variables are what... and how do you solve for the other 2

Also I am putting in the coords to the above and it keeps saying invalid map position

When you put in the numbers, you have to use -124 on the first one and -72 on the second one. The link uses the numbers in the wrong order.

Seems like the hotspot didn't move very much.
Can someone at the old 100% hotspot give us the percentage too so someone *cough*Provost*cough* could calulate the new hotspot?

-62, -77 75%
-72, -62 72%
(In the order the game prints them on my screen)

I was a little too sure of myself in the previous post, I forgot that the k parameter is still not fully known. My guess has worked well for previous months but the data from this month seems to be really sensitive to small changes.

With this month's data, we can refine k further when the hotspot is known:

[1.23725, 1.24095], if the hotspot is {-34, -43}
[1.24135, 1.24460], if the hotspot is {-34, -44}

I will edit this post once the hotspot has been found.
