The States-General has appointed the Dijkstra Commission to look into the causes of the War. There have been suspicions that horrible mistakes were made at the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Department of Defense which seems to have taken hold of the voting pattern and decision taking.

The States-General is not entirely sure what is going on and asks the Commission to publish it's reports as soon as possible- this in turn will lead to a full parliamentary inquiry.

When the inquiry is taking place both Houses will hold a joint session to disclose what has been going on.

Signed,

J De Asseliers.

Chancellor of the States-General.

The Secretary of Defense was just called out of bed with the news that a civil servant working at his Department was arrested by the Marechaussee, the Dutch Military Police on the charge of "planting falsified documents". Those planted documents were so well made that another civil servant only found out by accident when a document carrying the same document number did not contain the same information. The Marechaussee was notified and the civil servant was arrested.

As of yet- there is no additional information.

The suspect has been read his rights, according to our Laws, and has been taken to a local constabulary as the man himself was not a member of the Federal Self-Defense Force but a civil employee of the Department.

The Marechaussee will have to conduct the interrogation in the presence of the local police. The suspect has asked for a military lawyer and there are suspicions that he was working for a foreign organization.

Norman executive cabinet officials, while scanning documents for authenticity, found some documents that were also false. Most of these were reports from the Dutch state involving the war, and were private communications. In accordance with further study, a link was made to the "insurgents" in the United Netherlands. Further studies reveal that these insurgents were also responsible for the planting of false documents in the Norman Executive Cabinet. Thanks to Norman officials re-reading all documents, the falsified ones have been singled out. The Norman Troika hereby files a communique to the Dutch government, and due to this tampering in our affairs, requests that the criminals at hand in their state also be subjected to a Norman military tribunal. The falsified documents will be used as evidence, and the Dutch sentence will be considered the final one.

The Republic of the United Netherlands is surprised to hear that as he was not authorized (at least by the Department of Defense) to work in Normandie. We just found out that this man is involved with Orangist insurgents. The same kind that caused the nation so much grief during the war. It begins to dawn on the Federal President that the document that he signed was based on falsified information- we may have escaped disaster. It is the general assumption that this suspect was working for the insurgents in an attempt to cause a war that would mean the collapse of the Republic and an armed insurrection leading to the restoration of the Monarchy. This may leave us with the frightening opportunity that the House of Orange is involved. We will share our inquiry with the Normans and we expect the same level of cooperation from them. We also give them the right to put this man on trial when enough evidence has been gathered and a confession has been made. We may have to inform the world that if this man is found guilty of espionage and high treason this man may face the firing squad as he was working for the Department of Defense he is subject to military law.

There hasn't been a confession just yet. The Federal President himself drove to the constabulary to ask for the progress where he met the local Chief of Police and a shocked Secretary of Defense who was reported to have whispered "If only we could bring back torture.." on which the President is reported to have responded "No we are better then they are. We didn't fight the Civil War to start torturing people. Not even traitors."

Norman reports were forwarded to the Dutch nation's respective departments. Copies of all false documents have been laid out, measuring on a national scale across all executive cabinet ministries, even up to the higher Troika ministries. The Orangists were rather clever pulling this stunt. Everything, was prepared, there were a total of 43 documents that had been proven false. It was time to begin the inquiry. At that time, however, a rather morbid knock was heard at the Presidenten's office door.

The Federal President was still sitting on the police station when a briefcase of was put on the desk. The army officers before him looked as if they had been hit by lightning. "How... could anyone ever imagine how deep they had penetrated all our offices ? They are even at the security department at Catshuys or Noordeinde for God's sake. Sir, they could have murdered you or the Raadspensionaris at any moment..."

Van Slingelandt rose up from his chair and walked up and down the room "Has he confessed yet ?" he asked. "Yes sir, he has" Van Slingelandt sighed "Thank God we found out about it now.... this could have had an entirely different ending to it, gentlemen".

There was a quick knock on the door "Sir, you wouldn't believe it. They arrested a bunch of men, close to Naaldwijk. And they were armed." "Armed ?" The Federal President said "But that is their right." "Yes, sir... but remember that the Secretary of Domestic Affairs is living in Naaldwijk.."

Van Slingelandt sat down, tapping his fingers on the table "Has the Raadspensionaris of Holland been alerted ?" The soldier nods "Yessir- and the National Guard has been called up." The Federal President stood up and walked to a window and while he looked outside he said "So far for the quieter days.... back to square one..."

A Nationalgardet General walked into Elrich's office. This couldn't possibly be good news. The department of defense would never disturb him unless it was absolutely urgent. The man walked silently up to Elrich, and seemed to be lightly trembling. He could see Aiden Rommel, his head of the Nationalgardet walk in afterwards.

"Elrich... your not going to believe this."

"What could possibly be going wrong, we stand at a moment of unity and peace."

"Sir, it's grave... Armed civilians have been spotted outside Nyahemstad, similar reports have come from Paris. They have been identified as of French nationality."

"WHAT?!? This is impossible, MADNESS! Why would they rise up? We're brothers! We're united!"

"It seems the Orangist faction within the Netherlands is to blame sir. They view taking us out as key."

"Why? Why would this happen. I'm sick of this bloodshed, civilians fighting one another. For once i thought we had peace for once!"

"Apparently peace dosen't exist. According to European standards."

Hell was breaking loose, and the Dutch government was informed. A media blackout was instated, and martial law declared. Elrich despised bloodshed on ethnic or national lines, he didn't want to see violence erupt. It was obvious that fate had failed him, and destiny along with it. He heard the Dutch reports too, and reports of armed civilians continued to grow. All identified to be by nature, born French. Swedish and Norman (Half Swedish/Half French) civilians began fleeing their homes, after reports from the government came. They all tried to relocate to established locations in the North, the Norman homeland. Why? Elrich broke down. He tried his best, and it had come crashing down around him. He viewed what he did as the right thing, but apparently these damn Dutch monarchist rebels had thought otherwise.

The Secretary of Defense looked at a vase that was standing on a desk- the flower that was sticking out amazed him. The Federal President saw it remarked "That's what we are. A flower. And we are just as precious and vulnerable.." One of the police officers, a young man, said "Would it be an idea to just take him outside and shoot him- set an example ?" Van Slingelandt reacted like a scalded cat "Shooting him- shooting the suspect without a trial ? I know you were under raised under Hollandia, son, but... be ashamed of yourself!" The officer looked at the ground as four pairs of eyes were pointed at him.

"Well" one officer noted "This is going to be a long day- I better see whether the baker is open yet. We all have to eat..." He stood up and walked towards the door as the door was swung open and nearly hit him in the face.

"Though worrying news in itself, Zargathia is relieved to hear that the actions of the Dutch government were the result of misinformation. We hereby wish to extend our apologies for the harshness with which we condemned your declaration of war on what is now the Kingdom of Austria. Though we still do not back the justification of said war, the Dijkstra-Commission has uncovered that the true responisbility lies with the Orangist Rebels rather than the Staten-Generaal, and hope these Orangist rebels will be apprehended in a swift and organized manner."

"We would like to accept Zargathia's apologies" Swift actions and mass arrests followed. We hope that this will not lead to international condemnation but things like high treason and the like are punishable by death in our country.

Some of the arrested could if found guilty face the firing squad. It has been confirmed that the Wet Bijzondere Rechtspleging (Special Tribunals Act) has been updated and it now includes domestic terrorists as well.

Because of the mass arrests the Provinces and the Federal Government will create Special Tribunals and there has been the idea that dedicated execution sites will be created. Executions are to be carried out by firing squad. The trials could take months as our country has a reputation for honest trials. We don't just shoot people out of hand. '

"The government of Kitex congratulates the Dutch government for finding the falsefied documents and also capturing the traitor."

"We thank you for your kind words but we think that this man is just a part of a much larger problem and thousands of arrests have been made."

"If you'd like, we could send a small platoon (100 soldiers) to help search for these traitors."

"We would like to thank you for the idea but no thanks. Foreign troops are currently in our country and the Norman soldiers that were based here have been placed under full Dutch command for the time being. Those and other foreign troops are being held back and the full inquiry is being carried out by the Dutch themselves now as we don't want any foreign influence on the investigations as it might harm the position of the Republic. This is a Dutch problem."

The Republic of the United Netherlands has withdrawn it's troops from Stralsund but states that it is too early for a demobilization since the tensions at home are profound.

We have found, as of yet, no more terrorist cells. And we can assure the world that we will deal with the Orangists, who plunged not just the Republic of the United Netherlands but also the bulk of Eurasia in to a horrible war.

They will be dealt with in accordance to our laws- and for those that are convicted it is unlikely that they will receive a minimum sentence, as according to many judges, whose sons had been mobilized just as anyone else's.

"The Empire of Krieg hereby restores any and all ties with the Dutch nation to friendly. It is now shown that the Dutch Leader was decived into making the descions he made. The Dutch has taken all steps to insure this never happens again, they have aplogized, and put the traitors away. We congratulate the Dutch Nation on getting to the bottom of this, and we hope they understand our reasoning behind the freezing of ties."
