Statement from the Republic of the United Netherlands

From the desk of the Federal President,

There are several nations in Europe (and also one in Africa) that seeks to invade the Empire of Krieg. The bulk of all Dutch troops have been withdrawn and the Rakatan Army has left too.

Only 2 Geneeskundige Bataljon (Medical troops) remains in place at former Camp Holland at Vistahermosa- near Salamanca. Those are in the process of being repatriated but it seems to the case that Molakia wants to invade tonight- and we feel that it is for no sound reason.

We are a neutral country that does not seek war or military conflict but we want to make it very clear that if Dutch peacekeepers will die in the line of fire that a full response will follow and it is not unlikely that I, as the Federal President, will go in person to Parliament asking it to declare a state of war between us and the one that killed Dutch citizens.

Please know that in the time that we are there we will note down any crimes that are being committed against prisoners of war and the civilian population. May it be direct targeting or cases of looting, arson, sexual assault, etc. And we will make sure that the world will know about those crimes and it will not be unlikely that the country that is responsible for those crimes will face international condemnation or worse.

As signed,

S van Slingelandt.

Bondspresident der Republiek der Verenigde Nederlanden.

Then we will avoid them if we can. We can open our lines to them and allow them passage, should the need arise.

That would perhaps be required. Dutch troops will be armed but traveling in white jeeps and trucks and wear blue berets. And they will be protected by the Dutch and Red Cross-flag.

During war a lot can happen and we hope that Molakia realizes how precarious the situation is for our peacekeepers. They will probably be withdrawn in 48 hours. We will therefore leave our weapons at the base.

OOC: Krieg was banned for 2 days. I have krieg on MSN, Im giving him updates, he says us can RP him but I would prefer just to pass updates.

IC: Krieg's leaders are unable to reply at this stage but the Dutch would like to work together with the crew of the Ave Mariee.

That can be arranged, if you leave the name of the Dutch commander i shall forward him the details of the Vessel.

but in short, it can hold 2000 wounded, it has 2 Helicopter decks, an ICU unit and room for 500 crew and 300 Medical staff.

the ship will be completly unharmed with no Military units onboard, save Malvinan army medics.

All Dutch and Allied units are free to use the Ave Mariee as a Hospital and as an R+R location for soldiers on up to 3 days leave from the front.

I must stress however, women and children WILL come before allied soldiers in terms of Injury, however, if it s a life threatening wound the receive priority treatment.

The Ship will be in Anchor at any location the allied forces wishes it to be. but it will take up to a week to get to the Theatre of Operations.

It will be the advise of the Dutch Armed Forces to take up position in full sight of Barcelona. The Dutch themselves will remain near Salamanca but fall back towards the Coast by the end of this week.

The captain of the vessel has been gieve then coordinates and has this minute set sail, we have had the ship prepped and ready to go since everything went downhill in Europe, and considered it would be prudent to create good relations with the Europeans by providing peacefull assistance with Humanitarian aid

The Republic of Normandy wishes to state that while our government and country has been reformed, our support of Dutch neutrality remains. Any attack upon a neutral Dutch soldier, (albeit peacekeepers, and this even includes Dutch civilians) will be considered an act of war against a sovereign and neutral state, and thus be subject to the retaliation of the Norman Nationalgardet.

Vistahermosa (Krieg Empire):

A group of soldiers are standing on the sidewalk of a street- powerlines overhead.- they are just looking at the stars that shine over the desolate village. One of them a young reddish trooper, a nurse in training, looks at a girl of his age that is passing by on her bicycle. Lovely ladies here. She reminds him of his own fiancée- back home in the town of Den Bosch.. one of the most splendid towns in all of Brabant or so say the locals.

Dutch radio told them tonight that there is a real threat of a nuclear war lingering over Europe. What would it be like- he wonders. Will she too be buried beneath the rubble of her house and incinerated by a blast. Because no one believes anymore that the neutrality of the Netherlands will be respected. He questions the government- why haven't they mobilized ?

"Perhaps", he thinks, "I am just scared for something that won't happen and will we remain outside the conflict although the fighting might also break out on our very borders. But if we can stay neutral I will be out of here by coming weekend. Ooh home sweet home."

One of his fellow soldiers taps him on the shoulder "We better go to bed, Klaas, we have got nothing to do at the moment and we will need all our rest tomorrow" The soldier just nods and they turn around- it's a still a long way to the field hospital outside the village.

We would like to thank our warrant to our neutrality for their support. We may be in need of it by tomorrow..
