Since they have yet to pull such a move, we will remain defensive. We however will slighly lossen the threat level as it seems that an attack by Conti is not probable since Chimairan has asked for Diplomacy." Secret IC: Im not sure if we made the best move, however I only got involved to make sure they didnt try to go on a rampage and attempt to kill Dutch or Chimarian defensive troops. I hope diplomacy can be reached, but we maintain that we will react to violence towards our friends. We do NOT let our friends and allies get pushed or bullied without stepping in. Conti has proven to be arrogant, demanding, and unwilling to settle and Im sure that is not going to change suddenly. Should any further infractions of Conti's independence take place we are fully prepared to take action. How is our stance at defending our allies from a rebel or conti military attack Belligernent or aggressive again? Refresh my memory. EDIT: In response to the Euzkadi government's hightening of DEFCON-2 We will be preparing for a full aggressive invasion by the Euzkadi military. Our Regiment is ordered to Immediatly take defensive postions on the Euzkadi border. We have hightened our Threat to max. We question this move by Euzkadi when we were once again acting out of defense for our friends. We once again ask kindly why the Euzkadi government would react to OUR forces when we made it clear at least 50,000,000 times now we were not going to move out, (And didnt,) Unless one of our Friendly Nations were attacked on their border. We question this and would easyily see the Euzkadi goverment doing the same thing -- WHICH it has before -- If the Krieg Military was threatening acts of violence towards scotland, and launching guerilla attacks. We have not attempted to annex them. If you have any proof of such actions please present them and the Krieg Empire will public apologize and undeploy all military forces immediatly. The Empire simply points out Euzkadi's refusal to clarify the use of troops in response to our Defensive Regiment which never infringed upon or planned to unless our allies were attacked. The Hipocracy will be dual noted, and your aggressive actions and refusal to clarify will also be noted. This rash move is simply adding fuel to the fire. The occurrence with Conti made it clear that some elements of the government are too nationalist even for our own control, and that corruption exists within the Republic. Due to this, the announcement later will make everything clear, and reveal all truth to the world. A possible national restructure is also rumored to be existent. OOC: 400 Posts? Impossible! It has not done so without allies (Iberian Pact members: Scotland, Euzkadi) and friends (Viniland and others) whom we thank for their unwavering support. We have survived threats of annexation and obliteration yet today the Tricolour flag (black white red) is still proudly flown in every village, town and city of our land. Today the struggle is over, our existence undisputable. Conti, The 17th August 2009 Archives Ident 2009/007 Following the blatant act of aggression of the combined forces of the Krieg Empire and Chimairan Republic the Council of Ten has ordered the closure of Conti's borders on the mainland. The Brittany Company which is entrusted with the administration of Brittany has been instructed to assist the Military of Conti in securing its borders. The Naval Infantry Regiment has also been instructed to step patrols in Conti's Exclusive Economic Zone (EEC) and in the immediate vicinity of the Island of Conti itself. The Great Council of Conti has unanimously condemned both aggressors, the active and the passive alike and passed an emergency decree granting the Council of Ten full legislative powers until the crisis is resolved. In the light of the recent detente, the above emergency legislation as now been rescinded. Details are as follows: The Council of Ten’s emergency powers are rescinded in compliance with the Instrument of Governement. Border patrols have been scaled down. Daily border control duties have been handed back to civilian units and the Brittany Company. The Naval Infantry Regiment will resume standard home waters control operations. We have welcomed news from the Chimairan Republic that the most nationalist faction of heir government had been sidelined. And we are a forgiving people. Should the new Chimairan Republic’s government express the wish to normalise relations between our two countries, Conti is willing to discuss a treaty of mutual recognition.
