Firestorm
The people of Free Somal have spoken. Their desire for free elections will be recognized. After much debate the Republic will be settling upon the following system of Executive government: The Executive power will be held by the office of the Govenor of the Republic of Free Somal. As the crisis involving the falling of Mama Bob Denard's government has been resolved the Military Governorship has been dissolved. Until the elections are final and the transition of power has been made the leadership of Major General Thomas Johns will be retained. The Office of Govenor serves a 10 year term. Further details will be made avalaible regarding the office and powers assigned to it as they come avaliable. We will be opening up the polls and at this time open our borders to the international media and representatives from foreign governments, with the exception of Promised Land of course. Subtleknifewielder
"You seem to be stuck on the idea that every individual in a nation is responsible for the decisions of a few." ~DUNES OOC: That would be the primary news network...old joke. Firestorm
We are very much hooked on the idea that the nation of Promised Land is responsible for a biological terror attack on our citizens. Oh wait, it really did happen.
Subtleknifewielder
"And so you condemn everyone, from the oldest, doddering grandparent, to the youngest infant? That makes perfect sense. No one is denying that it happened, but you're accusing many innocent people as well. That is not an attitude that seeks truth, but an attitude that seeks to feel superior to another, whether ideologically, racially, or otherwise." ~DUNES
JEDCJT
We are very much hooked on the idea that the nation of Promised Land is responsible for a biological terror attack on our citizens. Oh wait, it really did happen. The rogue agents were responsible for the biological attack, not the nation of Promised Land. Firestorm
Agents under the direct control of the government of Promised Land are not rogue agents. The attack was sanctioned by the government of Promised Land. Stop trying to cover up for biological terrorists. It's unbecoming of your government and an embarrassment to your people. CLASSIFIED The officials at the State Department sighed as they scanned over the telegraph. PUBLIC We are not trying to cover up for biological terrorists, and dont try to accuse us of that. We're trying to put up the facts that the biological attacks, as terrible as they were, were outside the control of the Promised Land government at the time. Would Promised Land willfully and knowingly launch such a horrible attack against a nation, given its noble character? We should think not. This is only our opinion, of course. Arkantos
Yes the government of Promised Land would and in fact they did launch a biological attack upon the Republic of Free Somal. Ok, let's say they did. Why would they do that? You have done them no harm.
Firestorm
They did it because they were idiotic enough to believe that their biological weapon of terror wouldn't kill anyone. In fact it did kill someone, 533 someones, and this fact makes the person who ordered that attack guilty of mass murder.
king of cochin
Ok, let's say they did. Why would they do that? You have done them no harm. Promised Land did this attack to inhibit the involvement of Somal in the North African War that was then being waged.

Actually, we believe that the person ultimately responsible for the order knew full well it would kill. Why they wanted it to do this, we are uncertain. Promised Land did this attack to inhibit the involvement of Somal in the North African War that was then being waged. Of course, that is a logical explanation too. Who knows? Noone, until the perpetrators are brought to justice.
