Chaos In Nordheim

Kaiser Martens

Recommended Posts

It had been some time now since Nordheim had attempted to become an Isolationist Democracy. The DMZ in the north had been completed and the Nordheimer borders properly marked in every direction. The country had closed itself to all foreign intervention, even tourism, save for international commitees which had been assigned to verify the proper conduction of the ellections. Nordheim's Nukes had been carried over to Prussia by Nordheims' Army in something that resembled a funerary procession of weapons of mass destructions, where they would be held safely. The former leaders had been put to trial.(Though, another thread needs to be made to RP that)

The air was tense, thick, dense over in Nordheim. Nobody went outsides to the streets to party anymore. The economy had suffered, however, Nordheim had always been a rather spartan society, and had always rejected luxury for the most part, save for the occational monument in Asgaard. Consumption was only not entirely crashed due to the sense that there would be impending war and anarchy, causing people to stock up on all kinds of goods, food and weapons included. It was nearly impossible to find a smiling face in the street, although all things considered, things could have been much worse for Nordheim...if the nukes had been fired, for example.

The first ellections were a complete and total failure. Only ten percent of the Nordheimer population showed up to vote, a president was ellected but he lasted only a month. The Nordlanders still did hate democracy...only their hatred for the democracy and their enemies further north seemed to unite them now that the Government had been dismantled.

They tried again. This time, they made voting compulsory. Nearly fourty percent of the population chose to vote, the rest would parade in the streets demanding the reinstauration of the Aesir, Kaiserin Magnhild, and Martencism. Other groups started to spring up, opportunist groups, making their own demands, and as the Government was weakened, soon many other sectors such as the Military Police would be damaged. Mafias start to arose.

Still, for the first few years it seemed that it may just work, maybe this is what they wanted, a weaker Nordheim. The time for the next ellections has come. Here are the parties...

Kaiser Martens Loyalist Party:

A group advocating that Kaiser Martens should return to the throne of Nordheim, and then to Nordland.

Heathen Party of Nordheim:

A group supporting the Aesir and Pagan Religion, advocating the violent destruction of the "Un-Nordlandic" Democratic Governors.

All-Nordlandic National Unity Party:

A party advocating the reconstruction of Nordland, but not under Martens' fist.

Isolationist Party:

A party wanting to make Nordheim eventually one hundred percent isolated from the world.

Party of the Gebivian Community in Nordheim:

A party created by Gebivian refugees, which were Nordheimer citizens. Backed by a Mafia.

Slavonic Dissident Party:

Slavic Pagans who advocate a Slavization of Nordheim.

Silver Party:

A party claiming to be the only actual Martencist party, proposing a new Silver Revolution.

Martencist Party:

The original Martencist Party. However, lacks legitimacy due to having lost its older figures.

True Martencist Party:

A new Martencist Party created by younger people, claiming to be the only true Martencists.

National Socialist Nordheimer Workers' Party:

National Socialists, who believe that Nordland fell due to letting in Non-Nordlandic ethnicities.

New Socialist Party:

A misnomer, as there was no Socialist Party before.

Royalist Party:

A party supporting the return of Kaiserin Magnhild.

Übersteinianist Party:

They support adopting an Übersteinianist system and allying to Mariehamm.

Democratic Triumph Party:

A mix of all those who actually do support Democracy in Nordheim.

Fascist Party:

A party much like the National Socialist one, however, not xenophobic.

Moderate Communist Party:

A struggling group of Communists in a Martencist ocean.

Yes. It was a total chaos. The voters would go and read all the information on each party and be only utterly confused and disgusted. There were at least five parties claiming themselves to be Martencist, and this caused the population to divide itself or to refuse to vote altogether - in spite of being potentially fined over it. The lack of unity between the more "Nordlandic Style" parties actually did pave the way for the government to consist of an alliance between the Moderate Communist Party, the New Socialist Party, and the Democratic Triumph Party.

Let the rioting begin.

Nordheim was to have a Communist president? And a Democratic and Socialist senate? Even though 75% of the people were against it? They had won, again, with minimal votes. The reason was that even if a minority supported these, it was a sizeable alliance, additionally, most Martencists either did not know who to vote or otherwise decided not to vote at all. The people seized the streets quickly, and then the Government Palace and Senate, all hell breaking lose as Nordheim spiralled in chaos. Widespread violence appeared. Chaotic hordes systematically hanged and burned the new Government which they did not acknowledge, and the Military, as well as Military Police mobilized to try to stop this. But they found that Nordheim's population was, in some cases, armed enough well to outgun them anyway. Soon the Army would fracture, as it had no Government to follow, and had mixed loyalties. Moreover, it refused to beat down or even kill their own citizens. Over in Iceland and Baltic Nordheim, there was much fear, much fear that foreign powers would use this as a chance to either take the land over or force them to be their own countries.

The news to the outer world was contradictory and confusing. It was not certain whether if this should count as actual Anarchy or otherwise as a Civil war. The lines had not yet been drawn. Notoriously however, the population did not attempt to flee Nordheim.

In spite of the chaos, they were still united by certain things. Some of those things were the rumors that the Russians would try to take the baltic. Over in Baltic Nordheim, rioting and confusion would be much less violent and short lived, as the people fixed their gazes on the eastern Horizon in paranoia. The same was lived in Iceland, people would scan the seas and shores thoroughly, suspecting invisible enemies. Already old Icelandic flags, Proxian flags, Slavorussian flags and flags of the former Baltic states were being burnt in those locations, to express their will to the world. The people only seemed to agree on that issue.

What would happen next?

Channel One reporter: Premier Medvedev is Slavorussia going to do anything about the situation in Nordheim?

Premier Medvedev: Well, we were going to offer humanitarian aid and money to Nordheim. If they accepted it then we would have gone tried to give as much as possible, and if they declined then we would have backed off. However after watching government paid actors burn our flag we realized Nordheim’s officials like to watch their people suffer. As a result we will not even ask if they want any of our help because the obvious answer is no.

Mariehamm troops have moved to the boarder. "We will not let this social discord spread into our nation. Intervening will only cause problems, the people will eventually learn to rule their own lives, not listen to a madman's every word. They will learn, like a child learns to walk instead of being carried." -President Uberstein.

Should Martens ever come back in power in Nordheim, Molakia will find him and bring him to justice, by any means deemed necessary. Whether that ends in his arrest or assassination is up to him.

Europe will NEVER feel the wrath of Martens Again.

"Prussia recognizes that the political and civil state within Nordheim is nearing Anarchy. However, be it revolution...civil war... or something far worse, the European and World community can only watch. Prussia wishes to lend a helping hand to those Nordheimers that wish to evacuate their nation until this period of instability ends.

However, Prussia also condemns any nation who would make military or interventionist action in a nation that quarrels with itself and--I am sure--will not break off into the rest of the continent. Let this nation choose it's own destiny on how it rules itself, not that of it's neighbors own feelings."

Though the King was dead, the Regency Council of Bavaria watched with glee as chaos spread in Nordheim.

Secretly, they would try and make steps to keep it like that, though subtly influencing the people towards a more democratic way...Surely not easily done, but possible.

"Bavaria will watch this with great interest.
Additionally, we reinforce Molakia's promise and stand besides them with this."

The majority of these parties are all the same when you look through the disguise laid out in front of you. All but a very small handful will actually bring real change to Nordheim - it is a shame the world allows these people to suffer under oppressive, aggressive and racist governments while you all attempt to look good for everyone else. Until something real happens in Nordheim, it will always be the same.

Staatspresident Botha was sitting at his desk when Foreign Minister Hendrik Strijdom walked in.

“Yes sir? You wanted to see me?”

Strijdom had been intrigued by the summons to Botha’s office. The Staatspresident generally remained behind in the shadows and allowed the government to run its course for better or for worse. The only time he ever became personally involved in matters of state now was whenever the rudder of the Good Ship Transvaal needed some adjustment in extreme cases – or if he had a personal request of major importance to make. Strijdom wondered to himself which would it be.

“Ah, Hendrik… please do come in! How are things?”

Botha stood up to show Strijdom to a chair and then rang for his butler. A tall, impressive-looking coloured man walked in, dressed in a butler’s uniform – although Strijdom knew right away that the Griqua was not there first and foremost to serve tea.

The butler put down a silver tray which had a tea pot and two silver cups. There was also what looked like a green booklet on the tray, which was handed to Botha.

While the two men drank their tea, Botha made small talk with Strijdom – asking about his take on various international concerns and events. When Strijdom put down his empty cup, Botha leaned forward and handed the green booklet to Strijdom. It was a Republic of Transvaal passport – brand new.

“I want you to ensure that this finds its way to its rightful owner” said Botha.

Strijdom thumbed through to the first page to see whom it belong to. Strijdom glanced up at Botha and raised an eyebrow in surprise when he read “Martens of Nordland”.

“My old friend always seems to be finding himself in trouble these days – while our two nations have drifted apart over the years since we gravitated towards IRON, he was still good to our people when our nation was very young. We may be indeed a proud republic but you and I know that many of us, well more so the older folk, still have sentimental regards to him as ‘our good old kaiser’”.

With that, Botha stood up and sent the silent foreign minister on his way.

OOC: It was not genocide. It was a war of ideals. Big difference.

OOC: The holocaust was a war of ideals too...the ideal world without jews and non-Aryans. It most certainly wasn't a genocide though, since the Nazis were only trying to help the world, right?

In other words, just in case you don't get it, your statement is idiotic

IC:

Kaiser Martens von Nordland is formally offered sanctuary, along with his family, in the Tahoe Republic should they wish it.

The Republic of Euzkadi has taken no official stance on developments in Nordheim, however President Jose Aizpurua did stress the republic's overall ambivalance towards the political dynamics of Nordheim, The president went on to state ''while we may not appreciate some of the political agendas on offer in Nordheim, its not really relevant to the Iberian peninsular or Euzkadi''.

OOC: The Holocaust was not a war. It was mass imprisonment and executions without any justifiable reasons whatsoever. A war is when you have people fighting back en masse. I fail to see how millions of people being rounded up and subjected to such things can be construed as a war.

IC: Taeunas will be watching with great interest. Nordheim, the eyes of Europa and indeed the world are upon you.

OOC:

Laughs, this post has them. Most genocides or 'ethnic cleansings' are executed in the name of ideals! The systematic killing of a specific group (no matter what group is or how it is undertaken) for a single goal, is a genocide.

OOC: Obviously you two failed reading comprehension. Yes, your points that ethnic cleansing is often justified by ideals is correct. However, there was noo ethnic cleansing in Molakia's civil war. They were all the same race. It was only a war of ideals.

genocide is defined as the systematic extermination of those who are opposing the ideal. Where did he exterminate them?

OOC: Notice how im not speaking on this issue. No More OOC about it people. For the record, the Molakian Civil War was not genocide. Infact, we let most of the rebels go free, save a few. Finally, there is still a few fighters left roaming about.

So please, dont paint me as a Genocidal Maniac. Besides, why kill everyone when you can kill just one and get it over with?
