Drostan
New alliances flooding the Alliance Announcements forum? It's pretty cool in my opinion. I guess now is one of those good times to strike out on your own and make a new for yourself. It's like the CN gold rush. Every once in a while I consider either joining a very small alliance or starting one but then I remember how much work founding an alliance is... and how much I would miss Spartays. But I am really glad to see so many people doing their own thing. I hope they won't all be boring nation-growers because I like the idea of a spicy new Planet Bob. I would love to start a really in-character role play alliance that is always stirring stuff up. It would be good if future Planet Bob would allow for more small-scale conflicts without every sanctioned alliance getting involved to the point where the original disputants get completely forgotten. I too have a dream. heh. Anyway, have you fellas ever considered making a fun little alliance and if so what was the gist of it? I'd like some kind of Human Hive type alliance or an ultra futuristic capitalist alliance (basically I am just stealing from Alpha Centauri). I must admit that the idea for NSO has great potential. It's a shame I don't like Star Wars. Let's see who has the best role play alliance ideas so that I can steal them for fun. It'd be pretty sweet to do a Role Play alliance of Caesar's 13th Legion echoing the show Rome. Lucius, Marc Anthony, Titus Pullo, Posca, etc. Edited July 10, 2009 by Drostan
Neo Uruk
Anyway, have you fellas ever considered making a fun little alliance and if so what was the gist of it? Eh, I helped re-form CSB. Wasn't right for me.

Lord Boris
I'd like some kind of Human Hive type alliance or an ultra futuristic capitalist alliance (basically I am just stealing from Alpha Centauri). The drone riots would stop such an alliance from being a success.

Lord Boris
Nerve staple them. Too risky. The UN Charter is still in effect. The last thing a small alliance like that would need would be economic sanctions being placed on it for the atrocity.
Zoomzoomzoom
Prior to formation of PE I wanted to form an AA called The Hive with vampires/and or just a Star Gate based thing. Didn't work out because The Gremlins beat me to it.
Gn0xious Jr
My very first experience with CyberNations was with the alliance my friends and I formed, FirstGenGamers(dot)com. We were already had a forum, B.S.ing about pretty much anything related to gaming (from Colecovision to PS3/360). Hell, I even talked about my "gaming" computer, my old Tandy1000!!! 16 colors, 64MB HardDrive, that was hotness! Then we all decided to join CN, and start an alliance. Moving on... We were an alliance of 8-10 newbies, and fell victim to tech raiders. We didn't really know who to reach out for for help, or if there was anything anyone could do. Only 2 of us continued playing after that... sad... but we ended up joining more seasoned alliances to learn the game and get a chance to enter the global politics. Owned-You
Usually during Summer or any long vacation periods. You'll see a rise in alliances being formed as that's when members have the time to spare to dedicate towards building and running an alliance. Even more so, you'll see alliances form at the end of a large scale conflict as many members either leave there alliances to start something new or old alliances begin to break up and form new alliances. Personally, I formed Nueva Vida at the end of GWIII after my alliance prior too it disbanded/merged into another to form a new alliance. It wasn't a very popular move and was more or less thrust upon the general membership, thus myself and others left and formed our "New Life" or Nueva Vida as it's known...That was nearly three years ago...I'm old. Drostan
An adult swim themed alliance. Heh, interesting idea. Or a Rapper themed alliance could get pretty funny. Or just Wu-Tang Clan.
JayOvfEnnay
It was originally an idea not too long ago to make an Aqua Teen Hunger Force themed alliance. If I'm ever in another alliance (Perhaps, probably not though) then that's probably what I'll do. If anyone does Adult Swim, I beg of you not to steal my idea. e_e It's like... all I've got left as a possession in the Cyberverse. That, and I'll probably attack it for the rest of my days if it is done. Edited July 10, 2009 by JayOvfEnnay

BamaBuc
Heh, interesting idea. Or a Rapper themed alliance could get pretty funny. Or just Wu-Tang Clan. I think PC kinda has a rap theme. \m/ did as well. Yeah, I've toyed with the idea, but never seriously. I'd want to do something original, not just another generic microalliance. I used to think "Gee, a Star Wars alliance would be kinda cool", but half the world got there first. Maybe a CTU-themed alliance (from 24) or something. I doubt I'll ever do it though. -Bama

Vinzent Zeppelin
Making alliances based off of real-world movies or games can be distinguishing, but it takes real balls and ingenuity to use various influences to create something original. BamaBuc
you and Airikr should go make one Haha, it would be awesome. But I've got postwar plans that I have no intention of changing, so I doubt it'll happen anytime in the near future. Vincent also makes a good point in that an alliance's theme is only part of what makes it unique (or, in many cases, doesn't). Take NSO. At first glance, they're just another Star Wars alliance. But they're very unique in culture and in structure. Both of which matter far more than theme. -Bama
D34th
The truth is 90% of the new alliances being created now in th summer vacations will: 1- Disband 2- Merge and then disband People create alliances just for the fun of it even if they haven't the required skill/time to manage an alliance and this just fail. Sande
I'd like if there were less alliances. The treaty web is already "#¤%&d up and most of the alliances in there are not very significant, just links between other large alliances. I'd say that about 30 alliances is enough. avernite
Anyway, have you fellas ever considered making a fun little alliance and if so what was the gist of it? Yeah, I actually did it together with a couple of friends. We based it on the game forum where we met, we had loads of fun, but at some point it somehow stopped being a small alliance. Luckily it's still fun

Exactly. To answer the OPs question, me and my good friend tiznoast made the Seaworthy Liberian Cardboard Boxes, the gist of which is in the name. KagetheSecond
After playing Fallout, I really want to make a Brotherhood of Steel themed alliance. Creating the charter, etc would be quite fun and the RP element would be easy to fall into.

I personally don't mind certain newer alliances, so long as they're prepared. More often than not it's quite easy to tell whether they're going somewhere or not. For instance, they're probably not going anywhere IF: -They are lead by Kobiyashiy. -The charter is a repeat from from about 80% of all alliances in the Cyberverse. -The alliance attempts to only allow a certain kind of person in (ie Gay alliance, Russian East alliance, etc.) -The alliance has grammatical errors in the charter. -The alliance has a grammatical or spelling error in the name that is not supposed to be there (Russian allience) -The alliance is lead by someone who is under 60 days old in this game. -The alliance is lead by someone who has never been above 5k NS, not because of inexperience, but just because the person is attacked so much that he/she never managed to get enough money or infra at one time to make it there. There are exceptions, but if you think about it it's not as though most of these alliances are sticking around anyway. If you take any alliance that isn't going to make it out of the equation, you end up with probably no more than 80 alliances.
