As are any other current non-human, superhuman, or animal/human hybrid characters. or if they are, they are just passed off as elite soldiers with no special abilites granted by the modifications, if used in a larger war.

I was under the impression that the general consensus was that it be internationally [i]protected[/i], not controlled by any specific nation.

I have a question Vince. How do you know where to attack with your bombers? You havn't even posted a single recon attempt to find them in the first place. You didn't even sue the insta finding sats that you probally have in orbit. So in all intents and purposes your fighters/bombers are flying around trying to manually find the airfields.

Well, what I would do is get a guy with a piece of paper and a pencil and have him sit down near the biggest radar set I have and watch where those funny blipping lights suddenly come from. Once I've figured out they aren't a 757 I'd quickly write down the general location where those little blipping lights came from.

That's just me, I'm sure someone else could come up with something far more clever.

Well, I just sent the bombers on a patrol over Switzerland. It's kind of hard to miss a big airfield. Don't you think?

Or, you assign a stealth aircraft to stalk every last damaged enemy aircraft that are flying away from the air battle and try to see where they land. Once you identified the spot, call in squadrons of escorted bombers or spam missiles. Boom, stealthy airfield is gone.

If it was in the mountains? Throw in the largest bunker buster missiles in your arsenal, its bound to cause some cave-ins and maybe even trap the poor people inside the underground airfield.

Yes. I did. Almost all of my military's assets, some industrial and civilian ones, were moved into the Alps, way before this war started. I'm not going to say it again, so quit being ignorant and read the posts before replying.

No technology is required, you store the aircraft and all essential personnel etc in the numerous caverns inside the mountains (what the swiss do, sometimes they burrow hangars in there but meh) and then roll them out on to an adjoining plateau to launch and land them.

You dont actually 'launch' them from the side of a mountain, just store them inside the base of the mountain.
