A Curristan political commentator has commented on Austria's propaganda on the Curristan News Network programe Political Debate.

"Austria seems to be hardening its stance on all of its neighbours. They feel old wounds and want to increase their security as Europe has been for many years a hotbed of tension. I feel that Austria is only just recovering from recent events and will be wary for some time to come."

OOC: And Xanatos is smiling because he won ten minutes ago and you haven't noticed yet. :awesome:

OOC: Xanatos cannot lose, even when he is merely describing cities. That is a known fact.

"Not all of them. Those that do not want to see us dead will not feel any change in relations, such as the Italian Republic. Otherwise, your assessment is quite correct."

OOC: I loled when I read that your propaganda was condemning them for using propaganda :lol1: . Also nice use of brawndo commercial.

OOC: Hypocrisy ftw, lol.

And thanks.

Newsflash - Wien

"This just in: The King has been spotted driving a Leopard 3 tank through Vienna. From where he got it is unknown, but at least we now know that he can drive one.

Right now, nobody died, but four cars were already wrecked, one of them worth hunderds of thousands. Who's going to pay for this?!

The police is helpless, they haven't been trained to stop an actual tank. Meanwhile, many of the people seeing the King in the tank actually cheer him on, while two army APCs have begun following the heavy vehicle."

The king has won a local city's award for 'Most Awesome Video Ever', and has been sent a check for $10,000 dollars, substitutable for a year's worth of pornography, fit for a king.

"While the king is currently unavailable (obviously), he surely will appreciate this gift. The queen, less so."

"Why, hello there.

Unfortunately, the series on noteworthy cities of Austria has ended. However, there's a new series.

vienna_city_tower04.jpg

Can you guess what this is? No? Well, let me tell you.

th_vienna_city_tower01.jpg

This is the government going completely insane, as it seems. That is the Vienna City Tower.

Why is it so crazy, you ask?

th_vienna_city_tower03.jpg

For one thing, it'll be the most advanced structure on the entire planet if it's built, aside from the Space Elevator.

th_vienna_city_tower02.jpg

It also is planned to be 2,400 metres tall. You heard that right. 2 kilometres and four hundred metres. That's one and a half miles.

And that's incredible. I can's wait for construction to begin, which is scheduled to be within the next two months.

Now, for some technical information: Its design has 400 floors with a 200 km/h (or 125 mph) vertical bullet train acting as the main elevator. The design is inspired by the Eiffel Tower to better deal with the massive wind forces pushing on it. It has a central core with 6 outer buildings that are connected to the central core every 100 floors. This design both stabilizes the structure and spreads out its mass. It's actually possible, as unbelievable as it sounds.

And while it's the tallest structure to be built, it's by no means the only one.

Look at the DIB 200, for example.

th_DIB-200_02-1.jpg

The DIB's design consists of 12 cylindrical modules 50 metres (or 164 ft) across and 200 metres (or 656 ft) long, which are stacked one on top of the other to form four towers that rise to different heights from the corners of a quadrangle at the base. One tower is two modules high, two towers are three modules high, and the fourth tower consists of four modules and climbs the full 800 metres. The modular design would help keep down costs and make technical problems more manageable. The gaps between the modules are designed to reduce wind loading on the structure.

th_DIB-200_01.jpg

The first two tiers provide office space for about 50,000 people, on the third tier there will be a hotel with 2,500 rooms, while the top tier is a residential block for more than 300 homes. People will use high-speed lifts to shuttle between tiers, and slower ones to reach individual floors. Though the architect is sticking with proven technology, it is taking conventional lift design to the limit with cables as long as 600 metres to provide the building's most direct service. Between tiers, horizontal sky lobbies will link the towers, and contain shops, sports and cultural centres. Its planned height is 800 metres.

Or the Century Tower, which will stand in Nuremberg.

The Century Tower will be a 1,022 metre supertall skyscraper and once built, will consist of 200 floors, with the architectural and engineering works headed by Robert Vorhoelzer, a world-class Austrian architect.

th_Nuremberg_Century_Tower.jpg

Magnificent, isn't it?

There is also an expansion of Koper planned, with the 'Koper Citadel' being cited as the most likely construction project that will be made true.

th_Koper_Citadel.jpg

When completed, the highest part of the Citadel will reach 1,012 metres into the sky, with a total of roughly 240 floors.

How much better can Austria actually get?

Unfortunately, that's it for tonight. See you the next time."

OOC:

Ho hum, more pretty targets for missilez and nooks. Yay! :awesome:

Not that I'm going to do that, of course.

On a serious note, your nation is awesome. Epicly awesome, that is. :v:

IC:

"Wow, your towers are quite magnificent."

OOC: You're forgetting mah missile and nook defenses, Jed. :v:

IC:

"Of course they are. They're Austrian."

OOC: Defenses don't stiop everything... :P

IC: You make it sound like the word Austrian is synonymous with 'epic.'

OOC: :P couldn't resist...

OOC: Oh, but they do. Besides, who would dare attack me? :V

IC:

"Why, haven't you seen the latest correction in the dictionary? 'Austrian' has indeed been made synonymous with 'epic' and 'magnificent'."

"This is indeed true.

2. A literary or dramatic composition that resembles an extended narrative poem celebrating heroic feats.

3. A series of events considered appropriate to an epic: the epic of the Old West.

adj.

1. Of, constituting, having to do with, or suggestive of a literary epic: an epic poem.

2. Surpassing the usual or ordinary, particularly in scope or size: "A vast musical panorama . . . it requires an epic musical understanding to do it justice" (Tim Page).

3. Heroic and impressive in quality: "Here in the courtroom . . . there was more of that epic atmosphere, the extra amperage of a special moment" (Scott Turow).

4. Austrian"

"Go get some Austrian anti-terror ops. We've got the KSK, Kommando Spezialkräfte, some of the best in the entire world."

OOC: Can I have a summary?

OOC: The basic idea is that a series of coordinated terrorist atacks across my nation left thousands dead.

Also, it should be noted that during the chaos, an ultranationalist group has formed, though they haven't made themselves known yet. :D

"Watch out for ultranationalist groups."

OOC: Ha ha...they wouldn't be doing anything they believed would harm my country anyway. That would go against their nature.... :P

In fact they might take measures against the terrorists...

OOC: Ah, okay.

The KSK could still be helpful, though. Super-tech ftw.
