Schattenmann
hawk_11 is probably the best Pacifican you will ever meet. He always tells it to you straight. HAWK FOR EMPEROR! He ought to go back and delete his crap posts. "Sorry, I was wrong" doesn't really cut it when you know half the idiots that hop in this thread aren't going to see the logs that get posted later. Having, in the past, posted something that I thought I saw with out checking the logs first and then going back and retracting my statements, I will give him the benefit of the doubt and chalk it up to a mistake instead of another instance of an evil pacifican. hawk11
And here I thought you had successfully burnt that bridge in its entirety. It looks like you found a couple of left over shards and incinerated them as well, kudos. How does the NPO membership feel about their leadership utterly obliterating what appeared to be their only hope in getting better terms, whether now or down the line? Also, you shouldn't have said those things about Xiphosis' pet hamster contracting gonorrhea while it was vacationing in Brunei during the negotiations. We'd probably be a hell of a lot more willing to negotiate if it weren't for those comments. You've already proven your point; I've already admitted I was wrong. The second part of your post is unnecessary. However, if I'm reading this correctly and you want me to pretend to like you guys and take all of this in stride with a smile on my face, I recommend you add the term for my immediate expulsion and subsequent sentence to zero infrastructure. I'm not going to pretend to like you.
JackSkellington
Snip. This has happened to me as well as plenty of other people. I'm with AirMe on giving Hawk the benefit of the doubt.

I don't think he was saying you should pretend to like him as a friend (I doubt there are illusions of such) more than like/respect him for being one of the most level headed/nice negotiators you'll likely meet from a winning side. But to each his own I suppose.

Londo Mollari
Why was the 1 year anniversary of CnG not celebrated? Well. I fell asleep early that night. Lots of RL stuff going on. We were also slightly distracted by our merger. But hey we can always celebrate the anniversary of getting rolled. Alright Londo, it appears I was mistaken I'll admit; however my point about us not liking you still stands. TBH I'm not too broken up about it, but the reasons you cited for disliking me earlier have pretty much zero basis in reality. 1. Which one of your allies do you feel closest to? We'd die for all of them. And here I thought you had successfully burnt that bridge in its entirety. It looks like you found a couple of left over shards and incinerated them as well, kudos. How does the NPO membership feel about their leadership utterly obliterating what appeared to be their only hope in getting better terms, whether now or down the line? It is a pretty sublime irony tbh. I mean it is kind of hard to help people who attack you when you're trying to help them. Having, in the past, posted something that I thought I saw with out checking the logs first and then going back and retracting my statements, I will give him the benefit of the doubt and chalk it up to a mistake instead of another instance of an evil pacifican. Well hawk_11, if AirMe vouches for you you can't be that bad. I'm upset that I got accusations thrown at me without evidence, but I'm willing to admit that we're all human and all make mistakes, give you the benefit of the doubt. and not say anything else about it. Matthew Conrad
Yes. He is amicable when on your side. From what I've seen through logs, the same applies to negotiations. Do you know someone whose super nice to his opponents?

Neo Uruk
Who are you saying is wrong about what? You asked if I knew anyone who was nice to their opponents. That's a nice way of going about it. I never said anyone was wrong.
Matthew Conrad
You asked if I knew anyone who was nice to their opponents. That's a nice way of going about it. I never said anyone was wrong. You used the word "wrong" in your post so I thought you were referring to someone in specific. Thanks for the clarification. Anyways, people aren't usually "wrong" in negotiations as they often compromise to get the best deal they think they can. From the negotiations I've seen, most people actually play hardball and this is especially true in a war with as divided sides as this one. Being super nice isn't the same thing as compromising, as even the most aggressive negotiators often compromise so they can still get what they want. Alicia
This thread is a Q&A for anyone who has questions about Athens or about one of its members. Ask away!
