**Brisbane, Hanseatic Commonwealth**

Various months had passed since the missile attack on the capital of the Hansa. The last action of the madman Visari, the last action to kill the country that demolished his great European Empire, the last action, which coincidentally was almost the same action that caused Sarah's retribution in the first place. The amount of aid that had entered into Brisbane harbor, was, in a word, immense. Tons, upon, tons of material was still being lifted from tankers and barges sailing up the river, while billions of capital in various currencies were being transferred into Hanseatic Marks and invested into Hanseatic banks. It was actually kind of bitter sweet. While the aid was of course appreciated, the disaster of Helsinki, in Hanseatic minds dwarfed what had happened in Brisbane. Mainly because an exodus was not needed and the city had not been destroyed. After the quarantines had been lifted and the areas that required burning were demolished and rebuild to their previous splendor.

Of course there were problems still. Brisbane had been a city of six million people. The city had expanded three times its size since the exodus from Europe and with such a drop in population, large expanses of the city were virtually empty. This could cause an extreme problem just for the fact that many businesses would need to be closed, boarded up, and the fears of the government were that those areas would turn into ghettos and other undesirable places for crime and vice.

Therefore, before anything could start to decay a new policy was enacted, a policy that was extremely Hanseatic in nature, but as in Sarah's mind, felt that it would benefit the greater good as well. The borders were opened again, full out, with the banners that the Hansa will continue to accept the poor, broken, and downtrodden of the world. That people would know safety inside the borders of the freest nation on Earth, and that the Lady Protector would continue to keep a watchful eye as foreigners were able to find jobs, move into homes, and inject the city with the human economy it desperately needed. In addition to foreign immigrants, the news of the death of various Finns, sent Finnish ancestry from across the Commonwealth to Brisbane to rebuild what had been lost. On top of that, an overwhelming population of Kyo-ancestry had begun to migrate from the southern tip of the Philippine Islands. They were immediately welcomed and nationalized as Hanseatic citizens and hope were that their immense population, extremely loyal to Lady Tintagyl, would be just the medicine, if the dispersion plan didn't cut the repopulating of Brisbane.

But there of course was more that had been done in the month following the attack than simply just weeping and mourning. The Hansa had many more responsibilities which had to be taken care of, even while rebuilding. First of which, was providing a stable economy for the nation, and for Dranagg, now that they used Hanseatic Marks this was imperative. The Diet had recently passed various orders to begin to construction of heavy industry in the Antarctic provinces, manned by both Hanseatic and Dranaggian workers. They would include steel production, energy research, and military construction. It was ambitious, but the two economies needed to be brought closer together more so than it had been. In addition for the new trading partners of the Hansa who had joined in the Pax Hanseatica Treaties.

Following industrial and economic plans, the Hanseatic military was also to be reorganized. The military nearly numbered 300,000 soldiers, consisting of three armies. One stationed in Australia, half of an army stationed in Valkurheim and the other half in Borneo, while the third army was stationed in Japan, the Russian Far East, and scattered on the islands in small peacekeeping garrisons. The tanks would be tuned and prepped again and plans had already been made for a greater degree of drilling stations to be planned. If the Hansa was to hold a relative empire, the army needed to be ready for anything, the cavalry divisions needed to be ready for anything, and the air force needed to be prepared. Peace was necessary, but preparedness was just as important.

---

Patriotism, patriotism was the feeling in the city, was the feeling in the country. For those who had survived, they were proud to be Hanseatic citizens, they were proud that the world could beat them, but not break them. Marchar, Finn, Cymreag, Promised Lander, Kyo-Ancestry, linked together under the Hanseatic banner. Under the banner of liberalism, liberty, and freedom. It was what brought them together towards the Diet, it was what made them star at their flags, flying high on the poles as the national anthem began to play. Sarah, surrounded by Senators, Lillians, and other officials broke to the crowd. She smiled and took a breath of the fresh Australian air.

Citizens of the Hansa,

We have been though a lot together. Some of you have been with me since the beginning of our history, some of you have only been citizens as of recent. Some of you have bled for this country, some of the people are not with us anymore because they are the individuals who gave the final sacrifice for the Commonwealth. Our nation has endured two horrific attacks by the nation of Greater Germany, yet now we stand as the victor of these attacks. Europa, is free, the world is remembering its democratic roots given to them by Greece and early Rome. But I ask you, who do you think stands at the pinnacle of these achievements? Ladies and gentlemen, you do. The Hansa does. We stand at our peak of power, our peak of influence. We are respected, loved, endeared and we have achieved this without hate, lies, or coercion. Few nations can attest to what we have done. Now we are in a world, with friends on all sides, with democratic governments, and the dangers of despotism gone.

Together, ladies and gentlemen, we have accomplished great things. Together, we have made Brisbane into the cultural center of the Pacific. Together, the Commonwealth stretches across the Eastern Pacific Rim. Together, we have created a powerful treaty organization to defend our friends who were their for us in our time of need and together we will continue to step into a new age of peace and prosperity for our people. Our pinnacle, our Pax Hansatica, the Hanseatic Peace will be long enduring. Cooperation being the focal point of everything. And together, we along with the world will enter a golden age, one that I hope, we will never see end.

*Short Message to the Lady Protector*

The Mikyokujins are happy that the Hanseatic Commonwealth are so ready to accept us. As new citizens of Hansa, we shall work to build the heavy industrial base, using our decades-worth of being the backbone of Kyokujitsu's industry.

- Park Geun Hye, President of the Mikyokujin Society

OOC: Unlike what most think, I'm actually giving Sarah some people to build her population up. It should explain what I do for her IG-wise. Sarah, make sure you don't go around getting your people hurt.

There would also be a large influx of citizens from New Cymru. Many of them had relatives killed in the attacks, and were reclaiming family property, mostly small estates on the outskirts of the city, since the inner city was largly Hanseatic in origin. A few more were the soldiers sent to help in the clean up. Many were reaching retirement age, and were choosing to settle down on white sandy beaches, rather than the industrial ports and desert that made up much of the New Cymru mainland.

Upon news that the borders were thrown wide open, many thousands of families from across the nation, as well as numerous individuals, made the decision to pack up and immigrate. With Promised Land's economy in full recession, many were struggling to hold onto what jobs they had, and many more were unable to find any at all. Some came in cars, others by train, and oftentimes they had little more than the clothes on their backs.

They shared one idea, however, one dream. They knew the Commonwealth as a friend, a neighbor that could be trusted, and though they were often sad to leave the life they knew behind, the Commonwealth was a free and democratic nation as their original homeland was, and what's more, they had a better chance to make a new life for themselves in the Hansa.

OOC: I estimate approximately 50,000 from me, Sarah. Do with them what you like. :)

There was little doubt in the Hanseatic mindset that Brisbane was a cultural capital. All signs pointed to it, the diversity of the region, the construction of schools, hospitals, universities, conservatories, and the liberal feeling that went along with nearly every city in the Commonwealth was what separated the Hanseatics from the other nations of the world. But while culture could make the world stand in awe of a nation, could create respect for a nation, it was only one of many goals that Sarah had in mind for her expansion during the Pax Hanseatica. One problem that seemed to be hurting the Hansa almost at a constant, was a shaky economy. With the rise of the Dragon Empire, in addition to being surrounded by Promised Land, New Cymru, and Aotearoa. The Hanseatic economy and industrial might was nearly laughable, this would have to change.

It had already been passed to begin building factories in the Hanseatic territories in Antarctica. These responsibilities had been placed into the hands of the Pacific Trading Company and their various sister companies to begin turning out as much raw material and finished product as humanly possible. The Hanseatic territories had a wealth of natural resources to be exploited, copper, iron ore, chromium, copper, gold, nickel, platinum, and coal among other materials, which in the process would begin to wane the country off of the countless number of imported materials and resources. Effectively putting much needed funding into research and other humanitarian aims for the country.

As soon as possible, the Antarctica Coal and Ore Mining Company set foot on the province of Niflheim and Lesser Dranagg. In Nifheim, warehouses were built along with refineries for any oil trade being brought in from Borneo and other regions of the world. As well as creating an effective system to manufacture the raw ore and other valuable minerals into industrial or luxury items. As the factories, warehouses, and businesses were built, the entire structure of Niflheim began to change. For what was once a backwater way station for Hanseatic traders heading west began to bloom into a large and thriving trading hub. The city was built as its ancestry, Nordic. However, giving the Hanseatic situation concerning Europe, that was quickly changed. Niflheim was to become the Hansa's Helsinki reborn and construction was mirrored to the lost Finnish city of the north.

Meanwhile in Lesser Dranagg, the mines were of the utmost importance. Construction began immediately and would eventually yield millions of Marks worth of cooper, gold, nickel, iron ore and other minerals, immediately to be transported to Niflheim for work. In addition to be transported to Hanseatic territories, the profits, shared of course by Dranagg and the Hansa. Many resources were shipped to Dranagg City for their own uses. After all, Hansa-Dranagg was most definitely an economy of free enterprise and from Dranagg, Niflheim, and Brisbane the jewels, weapons, and materials would be sent all over the world.

In addition to the vastness of Antarctic resources, Borneo provided an extreme amount of natural resources as well. Borneo, in addition to the other Indonesian territories that that Hansa held, possessed countless amounts of oil and natural gas, unfortunately to harvest these resources correctly a great deal of rain forest would need to be felled. However this two bolstered the Hanseatic lumber industry. As exotic goods, and exotic lumber materials were transported to the provincial capital to various other parts of the Commonwealth. The city of Pontianak began to boom as refineries were built for the amounts of crude oil harvested from the islands and slowly the waters around the Hanseatic holdings began to fill up with oil tankers heading towards Japan and Australia.

The Mark would rise again and Sarah's campaign to create not only a cultural empire, but an economic empire would begin as well.

Japan...The jewel of the Commonwealth.

The annexation of prior territory held by the Neo-Japanese had been the defining moment in the ascension as the Commonwealth as a global power. However, there were immediate problems with the country. Enough problems to give the Lady Protector a deep headache about how to go about governing the island. First, the Japanese and their Yamatoan counterparts were a people of seemingly excessive pride and seeing their beloved Emperor replaced by a blonde haired, blue eyed woman of European dissent. The rumors were nearly unbearable to take. To rule them effectively, things needed to be changed, or the whole of the Commonwealth would not accept them, while change had to be done in a near conservative manner so as not to upset the Japanese population.

Japanization for one was abruptly halted. The Hansa was a champion of diversity and while Australian, Finnish, and Russian culture was easily kept out of the home islands, the effect was two-fold. Japanese citizens were treated extremely hostile in territories outside their previous holdings. While the effects of Japanization on the Asian mainland were quickly reversed, giving the people of Vladivostok and further north a feeling of identity once again.

To quell the obvious Japanese resentment for their new Empress, very little was changed in the daily lives of Japanese citizens. Culture, quality of life, even the economy would be gradually brought out of socialism and into the more capitalistic economy of the Hansa. This was done with extreme care. The Hansa was not, by any means the most wealthy nation on the planet. However, they did have an exhaustive source of trade rights and lower tariffs with the global community. Smaller companies which had relied on subsidies for help during recessions were propped up using other methods of capital. Copper, ore, platinum and when Hanseatic capitalism took a stronger effect and competition was introduced, the Japanese companies preformed extremely well. For the larger companies, who already had a corporate base to work from, the freeing from socialism to capitalism was more of a dream come true. Free from the government, the profit that the companies had turned before now went directly into their coffers. Prices went up, but so did wages, in addition to healthy competition from other regional markets.

This only continued in great success during the German attack on Brisbane. While Australia was being flooded with aid, Japanese factories and refineries were taking much of the burden off of the suffering Australian industrial sector and applying it to their own. The steel industry boomed and with a booming industry, wages continued to rise enabling people that perhaps wouldn't have been able to buy luxury items during the Neo-Japanese regime now filled the streets of Tokyo to buy the latest fashions. Liberalism too could be worked into the Japanese system, it just took time and relative economic success that was achieved.

In addition, with the beginnings of the HEU a greater need for steel and production was force upon the great cities of the home islands. Military production, automobiles, construction technology, and commercial art was refined in Tokyo, Kyoto, and Sapporo. So long as the Mark remained strong and the economy continued to boom, the people were at the very least...content.

OOC: I'm not so sure about Vladivostok. It was completely Kyokujitsujin-fied under Altin Urda, so unless you moved in tons of Russians, the immediate area of the city would be Japanese, when you add in Neo Japan's massive Japanization efforts.

But that's just my take. It's your nation, but since you like continuity, I thought I should tell you this.

OOC: Sumer I thought you had Vladivostok for a week at most if that is the case, I can't see a total Kyo-ized city, unless drastic measures would occur <_< ...but as to Japanization, these people were Russians before, I would find it hard to believe that since they're not ethnically Japanese they wouldn't at least tilt towards their heritage. Second, Japanese aren't required to leave or anything, its just that their culture is no longer forced on the Russian people.

OOC: I actually had Vladivostok for about a month, and under my policiy of "purification", all non-Altaic/Turkic people were forced to leave after being paid in cash. So yes, all "Russian" Altin Urda territory (the Vladivostok area) would have been cleansed of Russians, meaning there would only be either Kankokujins (the Korean branch of the Kyokujitsujins) and Neo Japanese, unless as I said you RPed bringing in Russians

I always take drastic and extreme actions concerning ethnic groups, which is one reason people don't like me. Sorry Sarah, for being the nationaist that I am :(

ooc: Sumer will eventually realize you can be a nationalist without being a racist/ethnicist. A stronger state is forged when many peoples share one common identity. I want to note that this is an ooc commentary on your IC actions, not on you as a person. I know you're not really oriented that way in reality. I just wanted to point out that whatever form of purification you use, economic or by the more criminal methods, it's still a form of discrimination and in character would still be a form of ultra nationalism practiced by your states, it's just a more benign form.

**Brisbane, Diet Hall**

Budapest_Parliament_conference_hall.jpg

"They are nothing but insolent barbarians. Purists to the worse degree. You people condemned Nordland for their actions, making the whole of Europe one culture I think Yamato is doing the same thing here and yet we sit around and twiddle our fingers as if they aren't doing anything to be concerned of. Unbridled aggression through Asia." Senator Thurnbold turned to the Fuyo representatives. "And then we have people that won't do anything about it. Don't act like I don't know your propaganda. The main source of capital for this country." He threw down a newspaper. "Sorry, not true, you might help in our technological sector, but you are not the center and as for capital that rests in the hands of Pacific Trading Company."

"Don't you appreciate what we've done for your country? Our country?"

"Sure we appreciate it. But you are no better than a Finn or a Cymreag or a Marchar or a Russian. Which you constantly try to show to the world. As to the Russian comment, I would like to bring up to the Diet something that has been on the ropes for a while now but the Lady Protector has yet to act on. During the Altin Urda era, the city of Vladivostok was renamed and its Russian culture stripped by the barbarians who sought, through purism to create their idea of the perfect culture. I demand that an act be passed beginning the immediate return of displaced Russians to the region."

A Kankokujin representative stood. "No, this is unacceptable. Eremi was a city created by the Khan of Altin Urda in the image of..."

"Of purism!" Thrunbold slammed his hand down on the table. "Vladivostok is a Russian city. I'm not saying that the Kankokujins have to evacuate the city, but it isn't fair to hundreds of thousands of Russians that were displaced."

"And to the Kankokujins who fought for that land?"

"Cultural destruction has been fought against by the Hansa since its creation. I for one will not turn my back on these transgressions." Thurnbold turned to Sarah, who sat at the head of the Diet. "You declared war against Nordland for their cultural attacks? What of Vladivostok?"

Sarah sighed and rose from her chair as the hundreds of senators turned their heads. "It would be an insult to the millions of Russians that reside within our borders not to permit them to resettle into their homelands in and around Vladivostok. Japanization is dead, and Kyokujitsujinism will end as well. I recommend an immediate vote for the Cultural Recognizance Act. Russians will be encouraged to move back to their ancestral lands without any such discrimination from the resident Kankokujin population. We live in a nation of diverse cultures, you can learn to share a city."

"But the Russian population will outnumber the Kankokujin population. That cannot be allowed."

"You have no right to restrict people to enter or leave that city. The Hansa has always taken in refugees and no ethnicity should be allowed dominance over the other. If Kankokujins wish to leave because they cannot accept Russians, they may, but that would appear that they have learned nothing from my rule of benevolence." Said Sarah sitting back down. "A vote ladies and gentlemen?"

140 - Aye

30 - Nay

30 - Abstain

---

At the passing of the Cultural Recognizance Act, millions of Russians who had been displaced due to the efforts of Japanization and Kyokujitsujinization began to fill back into the city slowly. Tension existed and outbursts did occur, but they were monitored by civic defense forces and military garrisons. No ethnicity in the Hansa would ever be allowed dominance or the other while no culture would ever dominate the various others that had formed under the era of benevolence.

With resignation, the president of the Hanseatic Kankokujin Society accepts the situation. They weren't being deported, so they might as well just bite the bullet and move on. After all, they were safe from the constant headaches those idiotic Yamatojins were causing or Yamato, and they could wish nothing more than that.

OOC: Sarah, I think I remember telling you the capital from Kawasaki Heavy Industires is a protrayal of my constant aid to you. Could you change that part?

OOC: Yes but that is not the majority of my capital...you made Kawasaki much...much too important than they are compared to the Pacific Trading company, which if by IG standards would be the moving of my other tech deals, which would be bringing in 12mil IG. They're important, just not as important as you made them out to be.
