AvengerNL
Even though the war ain't over yet, we realised a new era has started and with that took a look at our past. Amongst that look was a treaty evaluation, one that made us realise that we still had some treaties with alliances we never even communicated with anymore. A while ago we informed the Knights of Cydonia of the cancellation of our protectorate. Communications with KoC have been non-existant for a while which resulted in this decision. Also, 72 hours ago, we informed the government of Old Guard of our intention to cancel our MDoAP with them. Its cancellation period has expired, thus hereby the FOK-OG MDoAP is also history. We've taken a different path, grown apart and simply don't know each other anymore. I would like to conclude with a general warning. Even though we do not officially protect the Knights of Cydonia anymore, we do not want to see them get harrassed. So even though the treaty's gone, I would like to reserve the right for us to prevent organized assaults at our Orange buds. Let them live in peace and quiet, and decide whatever they want to do. Oh, and you know who to vote for in the best flag poll. You know you love it Edited June 27, 2009 by AvengerNL

RandomInterrupt
A solid decision to continue to protect the Knights of Cydonia even after the treaty. FOK seems have have a really nice FA setup these days. It's good to see.

HeinousOne
Perhaps some of you could explain why one would nullify a protectorate treaty yet still wish to protect the protectorate? Couldn't one deliver that final warning without nullifying the treaty?

Couldn't one deliver that final warning without nullifying the treaty? I'm not in FOK, but it seems like a reasonable thing to do if you have reached the point where the treaty really just plain has to be dropped, but at the same time you don't wish any harm to befall the guys either. So basically, beyond the point of being personal allies, but still willing to ensure they can exist in peace, even as non-allies. Again, just my interpretation of it. Also; good luck to both KoC and oG.

HeinousOne
Not much of a step. Good luck OG. Just because the journey towards a goal is long and requires many steps, that does not mean the first small step was not required.

Couldn't one deliver that final warning without nullifying the treaty? the announcement says "organized assaults" which i interpret to mean if you and i and a third party raid them then FOK will have words with us. however if you raid one person its my understanding that wont be drawing the ire of the dutchies oh and hai FOK
Delta1212
I think it is cool but it seems like a step towards a world without paper. Not something I'd be terribly unhappy about. At least a world where you don't need to sign a piece of paper just to reserve the option to defend someone. The political precedent that you can't back someone in a fight without a legal contract is one I dislike.
Diomede
A solid decision to continue to protect the Knights of Cydonia even after the treaty. FOK seems have have a really nice FA setup these days. It's good to see. I totally agree. Actually, when proper context is given to their diplomatic decisions, I can't think of anything I've disagreed with, other than their entry into Q and the treaty with Pacifica... but they addressed that and canceled for the exact reasons I thought they shouldn't have signed it for. I think it is cool but it seems like a step towards a world without paper. That's a bad thing? I am sad to see another cancellation on Old Guard but after going through the entire removal from Cit business, I can entirely understand why. Best of luck to both of you and I hope this is cause for renewed relation building between you.
