A grandios tour

Eggman Empire

"I'm not sure how everyone else puts up with him. For me, personally, it's because I've known him for years and I'm used to his antics." Blyzar said. It was at that time when a waiter walked up, pushing a cart with the two's meals. The aroma was mouth-watering and they dug in with relish. After taking a few bites, Blyzar continued. "Like I was saying, Kintober, Iblis Kray, Hank Voi, Phil Ryst, and myself go along way back together. Phil and Myself have known him since we were privates in the Eggman Army." Hunt gave him a curious look. Blyzar smiled. "Yes, I know what you're thinking. How does the son of an Emperor end up a private in the country's army? That's what I thought too."

"Apparently, the Kintober family has some code laid out in order for someone to become the next Emperor. It seems that one must complete at least five years service in the Eggman military and leave with a senior command under their belt. Next they must complete five years in the Eggman Senate with several notable achivements. That's where he met Iblis and Hank." A sour look came over Blyzar's face. "Me and Hank don't get along well." He then brightened. "But that's besides the point. As I was saying, the last thing a Kintober must do is be awarded no less then 3 master's degrees in five years. Anyway, would you like to know how Kintober and myself met?" Blyzar asked. Hunt nodded.

"Me and Phil first met Sammyace in Basic. Everyone knew who he was, and all the other privates sucked up to him. In the first week, anyway. Apparently, the Drill Sargents had orders to come down harder on Sammyace more then anyone else. Any 'friends' were fair game too. Soon nobody wanted to be around him." Blyzar got a cheeky grin. "Everyone except for me and Phil. We knew that even if he wasn't a Kintober, Sammyace would go far. He mastered everything thrown at him. That's where the 'ace' in Sammyace came from. He was originally Sammy Kintober." Hunt nodded at this little tidbit. Blyzar continued.

"After basic, we went our separate ways in Advanced training. Sammyace trained in the Biological/Chemical/Nuclear section, Phil trained in Command/Logistics/Tactics, and I trained in the Diplomatic corps. After we all finished training, we got sent to the same unit. I suspect Kintober had something to do with it. Anyway, within two years, we had all made Sargent. Withing three, Sammyace had made it to Sargent major and Phil made it to Master sargent. It normally takes 10 years plus to reach those positions. Yep, they were that good. Anyway, Sammyace finished his five years and went into the political field where he hooked up with Iblis and Hank. Me and Phil stuck together for another for the longest time. Eventually, he made Colonel and took command of a Brigade of which I was assigned to. We spent the years putting out small brush-fire rebellions. Then on day, there we were, doing our jobs and talking about who the new Emperor would be, when next thing you know, we get a personal call from Kintober, asking me if I want to be Minister of foreign Affairs and if Phil wants to be Minister of defense. We said yes, and here we are." Blyzar finished the story just as he finished his meal.

As he listened to the stroy, Hunt not only nodded or shook his head when asked questions, he also kept eatring his own meal. How his escort could talk and eat his meal so fast at the same time was beyond him, but he managed it. Hunt managed to finish most of his meal, except for the milkshake, by the time the narration was through.

"That's quite a story. And I must admit, that's a good policy for ensuring the competency of a future emperor. A better system than many, these days."

Blyzar had finished with his meal. He looked around and then leaned close, as if he was about to share a closely guarded secret.

"Let me tell you something else about Kintober requirements. when it comes to being an Emperor." Blyzar said. Hunt leaned forward a little. "Every Kintober to ever rule has always had at least two children. Apparently it's Kintober tradition for one to become the Emperor whilst the other spends the rest of their lifetime trying to undermine and overthrow the current ruler. This supposedly keeps the current ruler on his A game. I suppose it explains why the Kintober family history is littered with attempted coups and failed assassinations." Blyzar said, finishing his story with a shrug.

"All finished? If so, where would you like to go next? I can give you a quick tour of The Jack Gregs Building, our answer to Wall Street, or we can pick a hotel for you to stay at. If you're tired I have an excellent pick of hotels, if you have some energy left, we can visit The Jack Gregs. What will it be?"

Hunt raised an eyebrow at the...unusual succession traditions. Seemed barbaric to him, but hey, if it worked...

But he hardly had to think about Blyzar's question. he was hardly tired yet. "I'm all for seeing this 'Jack Gregs Building.' If there's nothing else after that, I'll retire for the night after that."

Blyzar nodded. "All righty then, lets head out." He said, wiping his mouth with a napkin and standing up from the booth. Hunt followed. Soon they were back outside, going through another slew of checkpoints to make sure they weren't "smuggling" anything out of the palace.

Inside an hour they had arrived at the Jack Gregs Building. It was one of the largest buildings in Robotropolis. It was 25 stories high, and although it was small in comparison to the skyscrapers throughout the world, it was heavily ornamented. Sculptures stood on balconies and window ledges. They ranged from human figures, to fearsome gargoyles. On the front of the building, was a large Eggman Empire national flag. Spotlights along various ledges cast the perfect lighting to make the sculptures look even more intimidating.

"You will notice a lack of tall buildings in Eggman Empire. Due to the heavy winds common in Robotropolis, and throughout the rest of the country, building and maintaining skyscrapers would be difficult at best. It's more economical to just build small and sturdy. We can proudly proclaim that Eggman Empire has some of the most structurally sound buildings in the world. They could probably withstand a nuclear blast." Blyzar stated proudly.

Looking at the building in question, Hunt had no trouble believing Blyzar'sclaim that the buildings in the Eggman Empire might even survive nuclear attacks. he nodded when it was explained why they didn't build too high--it made sense.

"I can certainly believe that it might survive such an attack," he stated, studying the building some more, taking time to appreciate the ornementation. he wondered if it was ornemented so much on the inside, too, and thought that it probably was., though there would be no doubt that it was perfectly functional, too, "Have you considered, though, since you can't build up, possibly going the other way and buildin down?"

OOC:Subtle, I'm going to RP your character slightly. I hope you don't mind. If you do, please tell me and I'll stop.

IC:

"Have you considered, though, since you can't build up, possibly going the other way and building down?"

Blyzar flashed a grin. "Once or twice. I'll have to show you some of our other 'buildings' that might be involved in this topic." He gestured to the doors. "Come, let us enter." Hunt nodded, and Blyzar lead the way. They entered the door way, and Hunt was mildly annoyed they had to pass through a security corridor with steel walls and ceiling, containing more checkpoints. "Security is a top priority in high-profile buildings throughout Eggman Empire." Blyzar explained, amused by Hunt's exasperation. Finally they entered the lobby. It looked like a typical "important business building" lobby, except for several heavily armed security guards, which surprised Hunt. However, he soon found his attention captured by something else; statue in the center of the lobby.

It was a good twenty feet high, and made of bronze. What struck Hunt as odd was the apparel of the statue. It looked like an accountant; A pen or pencil behind one ear, a calculator in one hand, a pair of glasses on the statue's face, and the wrinkled "cubicle drone" suit the statue wore. It like the the sculptor walked into an office, and modeled the statue after the first desk jockey he saw. Blyzar smiled at the figure.

"May I present Jack Gregs. This is the man who was Alfred Kintober's minister of finance and largely responsible for organizing the cash flow that allowed Eggman Empire to flurish. The Kintober's may have been geniuses when it came to the sciences, but Gregs was a master of the Markets. Without him, the Eggman Empire would most likely be a tenth of it's size, and hundred times poorer. He knew when to buy, sell, and hold. He knew what resources to buy from and when. He reorganized the banks and laid out a new financial policy. Hundreds of finance students study his ideas and plans every year. I suppose, without him, the Eggman Empire as we know it wouldn't exist." Blyzar said, with a sense of awe creeping into his voice.

"You know, it's strange. Gregs was originally a nobody. A loser accountant who got fired from the bank he worked at after telling his boss the bank policies where antiquated, next to useless, and easily manipulated. He ran into Alfred Kintober quite by chance. Alfred was in disguise at a restaurant and needed some extra money to pay the bill of his meal. Gregs covered for Alfred and told him his meal better had been worth it, as Gregs had just used his last five dollars to cover the cost. They got to talking and Gregs told Alfred about his firing, and all his various ideas when it came to banking. Alfred revealed himself, and put Gregs into the ministry of finance. Gregs shot through the ranks, and in a matter of months, replaced the old minister who was an idiot." Blyzar looked at Hunt. "It's weird how seemingly insignificant things can shape the course of a country, isn't it?" Blyzar asked.

OOC: Nah, I don't mind. If we were ever on at the same time, we could do it on IRC, but that rarely happens... :(

IC: Hunt nodded again. "Yes, it is indeed. Like a single stone in the bed of a river can drastically alter its future course..." he hesitated, then grinned apologetically. "Hope you don't mind me waxing philisophical for a moment there."

Blyzar chuckled. Hunt noticed the man did that alot.

"No, no. The only comrade I have who's really into 'waxing philosophical' is Sammyace, and that's usually about his work. And even then, he's usually to engrossed in his work to care about anything else. He's left us to run the country except for extreme emergencies." A distant, tired look came over his face. But only for a moment, and he returned back to his usual self.

"Well, aside from the statue, there's not much left to show you. The only other things worth seeing in this building is the Koi pond in the room beyond this statue and the Market floor. And those aren't all that fascinating. Well, to me anyway. You might find it interesting. So, you want to see the rest, or head to the hotel?" Blyzar said.

OOC: Market floor: Think Wall Street stock market. Koi pond: Well, a beautiful indoor koi pond with fish and stuff.

OOC: Ah, I see.

IC: Hunt snorted. "When you've seen one Market Floor, do you really need to see any others?" he quipped. "No offense meant, of course. Though I have to admit I've never seen a koi pond, I know where I can go to at home to see one if I really want to. So, I guess it's off to the hotel for me." He suppressed a small yawn, smiling ruefully. Perhaps he had been a little more worn out than he'd thought. Yes, some rest ought to do the trick.

Blyzar nodded. "No offense taken. Come, I shall take you to your hotel." He replied, gesturing towards the main doors. Blyzar gave a curious nod to the guards, who returned it. The two went the the security corridor again, being stopped at the same checkpoints for the same reason they had to at the palace. They left the building, and before they entered the APC, Blyzar turned around and pointed at the top of the building. Hunt followed his hand. "You see the top two floors, yes?" Hunt nodded. "They're fake. Nobody works up there. What we actually keep up there is several artillery pieces, spotter positions, and AAA guns." Hunt gave Blyzar a surprised look and Blyzar flashed him a grin. "You'll find all our major cities have plenty of mini garrison positions. The countryside has its own surprises for invaders as well. Eggman Empire may lose in a direct invasion by some of the more powerful nations out there, but we sure as heck will make them pay for every inch in blood." Blyzar said, a savage grin on his face. Hunt looked impressed.

"Jack-in-the-box attack strategy." Hunt mused, impressed. Blyzar nodded.

"Indeed. Now, to the hotel." He said. They both turned, entered the APC, and left the Jack Gregs Building.

----

Hunt woke when he felt the APC jerk as it stopped. He yawned and stretched, realizing he must have dozed off. He heard the hiss of hydraulics and the clanking of gears as the main door to the APC opened. Blyzar was already outside, and standing in front of a large hotel, nearly as large as the Jack Gregs building. It looked very regal. In the front of the building was an artificial waterfall that cascaded down into a pool. Lights built into the bottom glowed with different colors, turning the waterfall into a liquid rainbow. Surrounding the waterfall were a mini forest of fir and pine trees. Interwoven into the forest was more sculptures, and various stone paths. Everything led up to the entrance, as Hunt noticed.

Blyzar took the most direct route up to the lobby doors, and Hunt didn't complain. He was tired, and would appreciate the mini forest more when he was fresh and awake. They entered the lobby and Hunt chuckled. A red carpet ran from the door up to the reception desk. On either side of the red carpet...was koi ponds. Blyzar grinned at him. Blyzar motioned for Hunt to stay put as he worked out the details with the clerk.

"Two diplomat suites please." He announced to the clerk. The clerk was slouched over; tired look about him.

"Names please." He replied with a sigh.

"Blyzar Dreth, Head Minister of External Affairs and Admiral Hunt, of the Promised Land Navy." Blyzar said with a grin. The clerk straighted up.

"To suites, coming right up." He said, a hint of surprise and awe mixed in his voice. He tapped in some information on a computer next to him, and handed two electric key cards. "Top floor, room numbers are on the keys." The clerk explained, and pointed to the elevators. Blyzar nodded and gestured Hunt to come. Hunt turned to get one last look at the ponds before he turned in and was surprised to see two men in combat fatigues standing behind him, holding his luggage. They had a patch with a grinning cartoon face wearing a tophat on their right shoulder sleave. He hadn't even known they were behind him. "Special Ops. Or something like that." Hunt mused, before following Blyzar. The two men followed silently behind. They reached the top floor and Blyzar led the way to the rooms. He opened the door for Hunt's room and gestured for Hunt to enter. The suite was as big as a large apartment room. A deluxe kitchen with a full fridge, sink, and oven/stove were tucked into one corner, and a surround sound entertainment system with a plasma screen TV filled the up the opposite wall. The wall directly in front of the door wasn't a wall, but glass windows, which gave a full view of the city below. It was breathtaking.

"I'll be in the room next to you. Knock if you need anything, and good night." Blyzar said, before leaving for his own room. The two men brought Hunt's luggage to the bedroom, before following Blyzar. Now Hunt was alone, left to enjoy his room.

"Well, they spare no expense, I see," Hunt commented to himself once he was alone. he smiled, stretching, before walking to the wall that was made entirely of windows, looking down on the spectacular view of the city below. but before he could appreciate it futher, he yawned, a little more widely this time. As he was alone, he didn't bother trying to suppress it.

He would have time to fully appreciate it all once he got some shut-eye. He'd barely taken off his uniform, putting it on an available hanger in the bedroom's little closet, before his head hit the pillow, and he sacked out. he slept for a solid six hours.

In the morning, he got up to take a shower, and feeling refreshed, donned his uniform once more. After taking some time to look over the view he couldn't take in the night before, he sat on a chair in front of the TV and decided to see what was on...

The TV clicked onto the news channel. "...brushing off allegations yesterday that live human test subjects were used in pharmaceutical drug experiments." A reporter said into the screen "As Emperor Kintober is out of the country with Minister Karnikov attending a diplomatic meeting, the acting head-of-state, Iblis Kray, had this to say:" The screen switched from the reporter to a feed of Head Senate Chancellor Iblis Kray, addressing the situation. "These blatant smear campaigns have been around for years, even going back to Wilhelm Kintober. It's all rubbish cooked up by political opponents and dissenter groups to discredit our find Emperor. Inspections and investigations have shown time and time again that the only test subjects we use are the four-legged kind!" Kray said, sounding irritated and indignant. The picture switched from Iblis back to the reporter. "Whether Chancellor Kray is telling the truth or not will be answered eventually, as a fresh round of investigations have been launched into the State owned Pharmaceutical company, Genshabi Research Corps. I'm Mark Baynard, and you're watching ENC." Hunt switched to another channel. "...another investigation has been called to look into claims that Genshabi-" Hunt hit the clicker again. "...political opponents and-"

"...a vast conspiracy! The government is using live humans for their frankenstienish works and we sit here like cattle and let them get away with it!" Said a man who apparently was a guest on a TV talkshow. The host nodded and turned to face another man. "What do you think Senator?" The supposed senator began his reply. "Frankly I can't see why people like you continue to bring outlandish claims against our fine government and its ruler. The Kintobers are the very reason Eggman Empire exist. Why do you want to discredit them so badly?" The other guest was about to reply when Hunt heard a knock on the door and turned the TV off. He walked over and opened the door. Blyzar stood at the opening, flanked by the two men Hunt had seen last night.

"Morning Admiral! Ready to see the sights? We can stay in the capitol or we can fly off to see one of the other major cities. And if flying doesn't float your boat, we can always take a scenic drive through the countryside. There's the seaports of Vlask to the east and Jutzberg to the south, and Kulde-staden to the west. Well, those are all the cities within driving distances, anyway." Blyzar said.

Hmm. It seemed the people were obsessed with the idea that Kintober was using human test subjects. From what he'd seen, he wouldn't be surprised if the man did, but that was hardly any of his business. Couldn't they talk about something else? He sighed as he was about to change the channel yet again, but then he heard a knock on the door, so he turned the thing off.

Blyzar, along with the two guards from the night before, stood in the doorway.

"Between you and me, I'd prefer not to fly anywehere until it's absolutely unavoidable. Are there any sights left in the capital that we have yet to see? if so, let's see them, and then we can see what else is to see in the othercities." He grinned.

Blyzar nodded. "Sure thing." With that, they were off, unaware that they were being watched.

---

Blyzar, Hunt, and the two guards walked through the busy downtown streets of Robotropolis. Hundreds of commuters passed them by; business men, mothers, teenagers skipping school. On the streets, cars, taxis, and buses honked at each other. The place was defiantly a modern-day metropolis. Blyzar eventually led them to a subway entrance. They headed down and Hunt noticed it was a fair way down to the terminal, at least three stories. Hunt thought Blyzar was taking him on a ride in the subway, he was soon proved wrong. Blyzar motioned to a large set of doors marked "Authorized entry only" and had two guards on duty, protecting it. Blyzar showed them his credentials, and then swiped his ID card on a scanner next to the door. There was a click, and the doors opened. They went through, and Hunt was surprised to see a large, empty corridor that led to another set of stairs, taking them even further underground. After a good five minutes of shuffling down the stairs, they reached a second set of doors, with another set of guards. Blyzar went through the same procedure as he had before. They went through, and Hunt was surprised at what he saw. Rows and rows of cots, a footlocker at the end of each. In another room was an unused cafeteria. In each ceiling was a TV, all currently off. Blyzar spoke.

"What you see here is one of many hundreds of bomb shelters spread across the city. This particular facility is capable of hosting over 300 persons for a month. Two if supplies are stretched." There was a certain pride in his voice. "Don't ever let anyone say Eggman Empire has done nothing for its citizens."

He nodded approvingly. "Oh, don't worry, I won't. Now I see why, way back when the Eggman Empire was blasted with a rogue nuke, so few people died. Even if you didn't have these shelters, it's obvious the Kintobers and the people they appoint think ahead, trying to anticipate any possible disaster. Though I must say this network probably took a long time to build, am I correct?

OOC:I'm surprised you remember that :P It had to be at least 6 months ago.

IC:Blyzar nodded. "Time and Money. Lots of time and money. Still, it's worth it. But..." He then frowned. "...It's more of a PR stunt, rather then real protection against an attack. There's over 10 million citizens who reside in Robotropolis. The shelters themselves can hold barely ten percent. Factor in the tunnels them selves, subways, cellars, and privately owned shelters, and you still only have another 15% squared away. If a serious attack occurs, and the evacuation horn is sounded, a lot of people are still going to die." The thought clearly bothered Blyzar. He then perked up a bit. "Still, that's something. And proof that the government does care and does what it can to protect its citizens." Through their time together, Hunt had noticed that Blyzar had an interesting opinion of his government. He didn't view it with the least bit of cynicism, distrust, or contempt, but he didn't have that brainwashed "I love my government. The state is all." feel to him. He seemed to honestly believe that the Eggman Empire government did its best to provide its people with the most. Maybe it had something to do with his friend being the Ruler of the government. Something to think about, anyway.

Blyzar inhaled deeply and straightened up. "Not much else to see. A few monuments, a fancy building or two. Generic big city stuff. Care for a drive? If you like fishing say yes." He said, a grin appearing on his face.

He nodded when Blyzar explained how the shelters wouldn't provide enough room for everyone. Still, it was the thought that counted, and better some saved than none. He almost pointed it out to Blyzar, but in addition to his other impressions of the man, his words conveyed the feeling that he knew this fact.

But that last comment brought a puzzled frown to his face. Fishing? But he shrugged. "Sure, why not?" he said with a grin.

"Yes!" Blyzar did a fist pump into the air. "You know, I'm real glad you came here." He said, leading the way out of the shelter and back to the Subway platform. "My job has been nothing but paper work for the past six months. I haven't even gone on a vacation in that amount of time!" The man exclaimed, and then calmed himself. "Still, no sense in griping about it." Blyzar said, a smile returning to his face. His head turned to face Hunt's as Blyzar opened the doors to the subway entrance. "Incase you're wondering, we're going to Vlask. There's some history in that town, I tell you. And home to the best tasting Greenland turbot you ever did have!" He said, grinning. "I don't suppose you fish much?" He asked as they left the subway completely. One of the APCs was waiting for them and they stepped inside.

As the vehicle drove off, a man sitting at a nearby coffee shop pulled out a two-way radio. "Yes, from what I can tell, they're on route to Vlask. Make sure everything is prepared."

OOC: Hmm...planning a little surprise 'party' for me? :D

IC: Hunt couldn't help but continue to be amused by the man's antics. "I can understand that sentiment all too well," he said with a wry smile. "Paperwork is never fun. Sometimes I want to throttle the beurocrats."

"As for fishing...nope, despite a carreer in the navy, never fished a day in my life," he admitted. "I look forward to the experience."

Blyzar looked at him and laughed. "Man, if I was in the Navy, I'd fish every day of the week. Don't worry, after we finish sight seeing in Vlask, I'll teach you everything you'd ever need to know about fishing." He said. Hunt nodded. The small convoy had left the city limits now and were midway into sparse suburbs. The further along they went, the more nature seemed to control. Blyzar fell asleep, while Hunt stayed up to watch the scenery.

---

The convoy was winding it's way through a rather narrow road with cliffs on either side. Both Hunt and Blyzar were sleeping, as there was nothing to look at. However, things never go as planned.

Up on the top of the left cliff, was a man laying in the snow watching the approaching vehicles. He took out he radio. "The deer are in the open, aim your rifles, and wait for my signal. Don't hit the Alpha buck." He said. A series of voices came back, giving him confirmation. He pulled a black box out of a backpack he'd brought, and flipped the lid open. Under the lid were three switches and a red button. He flipped all the switches to on. "Get ready for it." He said into the radio. The vehicles got closer and closer. Finally they reached the kill zone. The man pressed the switch.

The road suddenly exploded from underneath the front and back Pitbulls, shredding them and ending their crews instantly. Missiles rained down, slamming into the guarding APCs and the other two Pitbulls. The APC Blyzar and Hunt were in was untouched. In a matter of minutes, the battle had been decided. The only remaining vehicle was Blyzar's. It's passengers crouched in ditches on either side of the road. Blyzar was kneeling right next to Hunt. Both gripped Heckler & Koch HK416s. Both wondered if this was the end. Then Blyzar saw a black object falling towards them.

"RPG!" Blyzar shouted. In truth, he didn't know what it was, but better safe then sorry. Hunt dove for cover, and Blyzar landed on top of him, shielding him with his body. They both heard an audible thunk as the object struck the ground. Blyzar winced...and waited. Everyone stayed down for a good five minutes. Then they noticed it was completely silent. No more shots echoed from above. No missiles or RPGs rained down on them. Blyzar stood up, and walked over to the object. He did a double take, not believing what he saw.

"Why on God's green earth would someone attack, drop a mailbox, and leave?!" The Guardian APC commander asked, totally confused. Blyzar shrugged.

"Only one way to find out." He said. He bent over, and before anyone could stop him, he opened the mailbox. Inside was nothing but a letter. On it was "To Eggman Empire." Blyzar opened the message and read it carefully. A dark scowl came over his face and he turned towards Hunt.

"I'm terribly sorry about all this. Unfortunately, a matter of great urgency has come up and I must report back to my station. I can assign you another tour guide if you'd like." Anger, hate, and fear all mixed into his voice. He wasn't thinking about fishing anymore, and it looked like he would have to wait a long time before he got a break.

Glancing around at the remains of their escort, the clear evidence of battle...

"I would love to continue the tour, but...it's not your fault, but how can you guarantee another incident won't occur?" He offered an apologetic smile, showing that, indeed, he did not blame Blyzar.

"No, it's probably better if I go home now." The regret on his face was all too apparent, but he wasn't going to be changing his mind on the matter--even with the reminder that he would have to get back on the dreaded airplane.

Blyzar winced, but nodded. Looking around, he remaining soldiers where hurrying around, attempting to treat the other soldiers and calling in medivacs.

"Yes, I suppose you're right. Things are happening in Eggman Empire that cannot be ignored." He looked at the note. "Especially this." He turned back to Hunt. "Don't worry about your safety Admiral, your return trip will be made in a Predator tank. Those suckers can take over a dozen hits from RPGs." He assured. In the distance, He could hear hammerhead attack choppers approaching their location to secure the site.

"I trust you," hunt assured him. "Take care of the situation, and I'll trust you to see me off safely.

OOC: go ahead and RP his departure, if you wish.

*Some time later*

Blyzar looked out the terminal window and watched the Admiral's plane take off. The poor man had to wait an extra three hours after the departure time so the small private jet could thoroughly checked for bombs or any other type of sabotage. Blyzar sighed. A small pang of sadness struck him. He felt like he was saying bye to a friend, even though they'd spent only a day or two together. His thoughts turned darker as he thought of the message they'd received, and made his way back to his means of transport. There would be much to do.

*Heres what the letter said:

To the government of Eggman Empire

We are the forgotten. The used. The cast-aside. We've endured agonizing hardship for this ungrateful country, only to be spit on and disposed of like rubbish. Well now things will change. No longer will we allow ourselves or others to be oppressed by you or that madman who rules. You will not be able to lie anymore. You will not be able to hide the disgusting truth from your people or the rest of the world. We shall make you hated, despised, and loathed. People will use your name as a curse. Countries will refuse to aid you or trade with you. Your great cities will burn to twisted heaps, and your harbors will be blocked by the wreckage of your ships. Your great accomplishments will go unremembered. We will END you.

To the last emperor of Eggman Empire, black pawn to D6. Your move*
