A new flag was unveiled in Shenyang as well, replacing the historical Manchu banner. National Flag State Flag The National Flag is to be used in matters of foreign and military affairs, while the state flag is to be used internally. The Gate was the site of the first proclamation of a people's republic on sovereign Chinese soil, taking place on October 1st, 1949 The flag is raised as newly incorporated citizens cheer and celebrate.
