Vanadrin Failing
The final Advisory positions have been satisfactorily filled. Under the Watch of Duke Mindwerkz Spicemaster: cpl Swordmaster: Shortstar Suk Doctor: Sun WuKong Mentat: Vanadrin Failing We welcome Shortstar and congratulate him on his appointment as the House's Swordmaster, as well as Sun WuKong to the position of Suk Doctor. Both were chosen out of respect for their expertise in their fields, and will no doubt serve the Duke and the House to their utmost ability. In addition, the Strength of the collective Nations of the House Atreides now stands ready to step over the 250,000 threshhold within the next few days. Though our beginning has been fortunate thus far, we still have plans within plans for a long road ahead. Our continual thanks go to Zenith for their support and encouragement in this delicate time. Whether you wish to apply to join or simply visit House Atreides, you may find our forums at http://atreides.greengrassmo.com. Signed this day by Duke Mindwerkz and Mentat Vanadrin Failing and sealed by the Ducal Signet.

Mechanus
Good government never depends upon laws, but upon the personal qualities of those who govern. The machinery of government is always subordinate to the will of those who administer that machinery. The most important element of government, therefore, is the method of choosing leaders. Congrats to the Atreides on your growth and your method.

DogeWilliam
Does CN have a House Harkonen? A war between the two would be epic.
Vanadrin Failing
Maybe once we get bigger, we can re-enact the Betrayal of House Atreides like one of those Civil War deals that goes on from time to time. And to answer a related question, while vetting Sun WuKong for the Suk Doctor position, we DID ask whether he had a wife that was theoretically being held against her will. Randleman
Does CN have a House Harkonen? A war between the two would be epic. Harkonnen's are innocent. Atreides accusations amongst Harkonnen as traitors and cowards are untrue. Nonetheless, congrats!

Vanadrin Failing
Harkonnen's are innocent.Atreides accusations amongst Harkonnen as traitors and cowards are untrue. Nonetheless, congrats! Traitors? Cowards? Not in the least. While they DO get traitors to do some of the dirty work for them, traitors WITHIN the House wouldn't have a very long life expectancy. Unless, of course, the Baron has use for their treachery as he did with Feyd Rautha's. Devious? Yes. Vengeful? Certainly. But to know one's enemy is of prime importance when it comes to Kanly, and considering House Harkkonen as 'traitorous cowards' to somehow discredit them amongst the other Houses of the Landsraad would instead be doing our own calculations a disservice. ( EDIT: to Randleman - Salusa Secundus, nice. The Emperor may have established Salusa Secundus to test his Sardukar, but God made Arrakis to train the faithful. ) Edited May 23, 2009 by Vanadrin Failing
