Markus Wilding
Today, is a glorious day for the Italians in Alvonia's Italy territory. Alvonian Italy, until it can find a stable government of it's own, will be protected by the ComIntern. Self-determination, hard work, blood and sweat have made the Italians there what they are today; hard-working, tough, and determined individuals. National votes favor the turning of these lands into a protectorate, and as such the Italians have been granted their request. Never again will the Italians have to fear cruel treatment, for they shall be protected. That is all.

"This is going to be horrible." She said to herself as she finished the tea. "A Communist Protectorate inside the Nordic sphere of influence. Good lord. Well things will get interesting, that's for sure."

Markus Wilding
We would like to give out a little history lesson: When the IBBC formed in the Italian territory, a man named Muzzolini came to power. After the war that struck his state, Markus Wilding met with the new party in power and from what the party there reasearched, Italians in the territory wanted to come under Alvonian rule. This was their choice made by the people. All we had to do was sign a document and we did not want to disappoint or comrades in need. There does not need to be resistance for a new regime to come into power.
Mergerberger II
The Greater Nordlandic Reich does hereby officially approve of this measure. The keeping of Americans from directly controlling the affairs of European areas or nations is a step forward in establishing a new Italian government separate from the rest of the world, a part of Europe and quite happy with its territory as it is. We applaud this move from Alvonia and would like to say that we think much higher of Alvonia now that they have done the proper thing to do and given Italy autonomy. "Where in the announcement do they say they are giving Italy Autonomy? It is admirable if they are indeed doing something like this, but they have not stated that this was what they were doing--merely that they along with the ComIntern are now officially protecting the land." Manetheren
We commend Alvonia for taking the right course of action in this case. However, we warn against sending to many troops to Italy in case it looks like a staging ground for attacking Nordland. Only a few thousand soldiers should be necessary to police the area, not the tens of thousands that are being sent.

However, we warn against sending to many troops to Italy in case it looks like a staging ground for attacking Nordland. Only a few thousand soldiers should be necessary to police the area, not the tens of thousands that are being sent. The soldiers are there for a variety of purposes, none of which is "staging to attack Nordland". If they are there to fight, it is for purely defensive purposes, in the case of invasion by foreign powers. Otherwise, the men will mostly sit in their barracks, train and do their usual exercises, while parts of the forces will police the protectorate. Also, it's always good to have a rapid-response ability in case of a catastrophe, such as a volcano nearby a populated city.
