AUS arrests prominent dissident

The Enclave arrested 23 prominent dissidents this week in a new crackdown on those campaigning for leftist policies and improved relations with the Comintern.

Among those arrested was a leading lawyer who often defends political prisoners. BUA (Bureau of Un-American Activities) agents dragged him screaming from his home saturday night, while his family and neighbors watched. "He asked them to show an arrest warrant, but they just forced him into a car and drove off," said his brother "He was shouting and struggling the entire time."

All of those arrested in recent days had signed a petition last week calling on the Enclave to improve relations with the Comintern by opening an embassy in Canada.

"One should not arret those without a good cause. Arresting people because they support a different ideaology is insane."

"It's not insane, merely oppressive. Insanity would be executing them by feeding them to weasels on live television, which we will note the Union State has never done and has never condoned. In this case, they are merely silencing the speech of people who oppose them politically."-De Luit, Keeper Of The Marchar

A government should allow people to spread their ideals freely, and should only arrest people for a real crime, with an arrest warrent.

"And I'm sure you would also appreciate the international community giving you directions as what amounts to a "crime" in your country."-De Luit, Keeper of the Marchar

Once again we offer free usage of Tahoe's large and well developed Labor Camp system. Particularly, Camp Determination (home to the political dissidents) should quickly and quietly demonstrate the futility of communal living to the erstwhile communists plaguing the American Union

New England watches the situation with alarm. We observe the AUS government should honor the freedoms and liberties of its people. After all, they claim to be the successor of the former 'United States of America'.

Mad Dog Bob Denard wonders why they just didn't hack the man to death with machetes to save all the fuss?

Why? You are just emerging as a state. They are not. Your situations are not the same.

They are fully developed, and have no need to execute those who disagree with the government, as such disagreements are rarely violent anyway.
