Lavo
Overdue and delayed by the last war and rebuilding, the RA is now entering another round of elections! In the race are old reliable faces, as well as new and rising ones. Without further adieu, the options! The Moderates: Led by Lavo Shalam, the Moderates were formed out of the anti-fascist Rebel Army faction and sport a policy of pragmatism, no nonsense, and consistency. In recent months, during and after the rebuilding, they have also gained a slight nationalist streak. On the socioeconomic front, the Moderates support a public/private health-care system, letting private enterprise rise and fall as time marches on, housing and jobs for those who cannot get them (successfully implanted during the rebuilding, leading to there being not a single homeless person in the RA), and accountability. On the world stage, the Moderates strive to be on good terms with all, and maintain a close core of allies, by treaty and friendship. The Moderates have been the dominating party in RA politics since it's inception. The Rebellious Reds: Led by Ibrahim Sarsur, the Rebellious Reds were formed out of the anti-fascist faction of the same name, are democratic socialists who support a policy of government intervention, regulation, and (in some cases) ownership of business, a powerful welfare state, and other socialistic policies. On the socioeconomic front, the Rebellious Reds support universal health care, intervention in business, far more welfare, and higher taxes for the rich. They look out for the poor, middle-class, and view the wealthy as partners in the struggle to aid those in need. On the world stage, the Rebellious Reds wish to get closer to those who treat their citizens well, take responsibility for their actions, and are truthful. They will keep a distance from those who are not good to their people, ones who never man up and try to fix what they do wrong, let alone admitting it. The Rebellious Reds have been the opposition party since the RA's inception. The Ubersteinian Party: Led by Dr. Mohamed Refaat El-Saeed, the RA Ubersteinians are the oldest ongoing Ubersteinian party in the world, coming into existance a few years after the creation of the Ubersteinian Empire. They support a policy nearly identical to the Uberstein Empire of old, with an emphasis on military service and above all else, progress. On the socioeconomic front, the Ubersteinians put more of an emphasis on military service (and giving you certain rights once accomplished, which is not an issue given the RA's draft), state control in certain areas, and other Ubersteinian policies. On the world stage, they strive to get closer to states who are honest, hard working, and all around good people. The Ubersteinians have been the third strongest RA political party for most of their existance. The Rebel Communists: Led by Dr. Munir Hamarana, the Communists are an offshoot of the Rebellious Reds, splitting off when they moved a bit to the left and became more Socialist then Communist, as the times and people wanted. Though over time, the party has found itself losing support, until it changed it's ideology from Marx-Leninist Communism/Socialism to Rational Communism. Supporting a policy of Rational Communists, the Rebel Communists are small, but loud political party. On the socioeconomic front, they support jobs, housing, and food for all. They also reward those who work harder, and severely punish and/or reeducate those who are leeching off of society. On the world stage, the Communists support gaining membership in the ComIntern and getting closer to other Communist and Socialist nations. They are also a minor political party in the RA. The Conservatives: Led by Helmy Ahmed Salim, the center-right Conservatives support a policy of financial conservatism, the free market, and accountability. On the socioeconomic front, the Conservatives support a public/private health-care system, free market and conservative policies. On the world stage, the Conservatives strive to be on good terms with all and to get closer to fellow centrist and right-wing democracies. The Conservatives are a minor party in the RA. The Greens: Led by Dr. Abdul Moneim Al-A'sar, the Greens support a policy of environmental rules and regulations for all, and better care and concern for the environment, provided it does not hurt people's livelihood and standard of living. On the socioeconomic front, the Greens support investing in alternate fuels, electric cars and trains, and better usage of fertile land. On the world stage, the Greens wish to get closer to responsible and democratic countries, as well as avoid fascist and other far-right wing countries. The Greens are a minor party in the RA. loannes
Drakoria backs the Conservative Party, despite them being more centrist than the one in Drakoria. We wish RA luck in gaining a reliable government.

Sargun II
Lavo Shalam is the true ruler of Rebel Army, elections or not. (you can tell who we support, eh?)
Subtleknifewielder
Lavo Shalam is the true ruler of Rebel Army, elections or not.(you can tell who we support, eh?) Aye. The Moderates should win the election, given the fact that Lavo Shalam and his followers were responsible for the organization that no doubt saved Rebel Army. OOC: Wait, Rebellious Reds? is that a reference to Rogue Squadron's predecessor squadron in Episode IV? Lavo
Aye. The Moderates should win the election, given the fact that Lavo Shalam and his followers were responsible for the organization that no doubt saved Rebel Army.OOC: Wait, Rebellious Reds? is that a reference to Rogue Squadron's predecessor squadron in Episode IV? "Honestly, the rebuilding effort was a joint task between the entire government, regardless of their political affiliation. Sure I was the leader of it all, but that's it." In other news, the Conservatives and Rebel Communists are doing the best they ever have in their entire existance, both vying for second place. The Rebellious Reds have joined the bottom ranks, a dramatic and unexpected shift in the race and RA politics. Meanwhile, the Moderates are leading in the polls, still the favorites to win the election. OOC: Nope, just a name I thought up.

Without a clear leader, few efforts find success in accomplishing their goals. With all due respect, you downplay your importance too much. OOC: Ah, well, it's still a good name. Lavo
The Moderates lead the polls with the Conservatives and Communists in a tight race for second. Indeed, this election has been one of the most eventful ones in the nation's history. Poll closing and election results are expected tomorrow evening. Lavo
The results are in! The Moderates take the cake with 45% of the seats, the Rebellious Reds and Conservatives getting 16% each, the Rebel Communists getting 14% and the Ubersteinians getting 5% and the Greens 4%. OOC: And no, I never said I'd follow the poll 100%. >_>
