king601
So, as I'm sitting in my many IRC channels I realize from the many people that talk to me... that there are a lot of new alliances being created and in the process of getting formed... and i'm curios if it's just because of the way things are right now, the war, or what? I know that in the aftermaths of wars, alliances pop up like candy, but why don't people find other people and make one together?
tannerus the great
It gives an huge sense of achievement when your all set up and get your first couple of members.... Also 1st... IronMan17
I have seen a lot of rebirth lately, and I know you mainly got this from our chat . I do believe war does bring out new alliances, and some old.
king601
1st Thanks! Was your alliance the first one made after the war? Your kinda leaving me hanging on this sentence. Finish it please?
Johjima
The newly created alliances attempt to grab the deserters. Yeah, a generalization.. who cares? Anyway, the newly-created deserter alliances will mature in the coming months. The hopes here, you see, is that the newly matured deserter alliances build a strong core of members that are loyal to the alliance. These core members fight the wars(verbally and in game), and the deserters leave again to join some other new deserter alliance. Ah, the circle of life. edit: join my alliance Edited May 14, 2009 by Johjima

youwish959
I don't understand why you'd form an alliance without an active core.
IronMan17
Yes Pyramid was reborn, but it was reborn better than the old inactive one. Also we have no deserters joining yet, cept mabye King .

IronMan17
Precisely. Also, I love your sig. And heres an example of someone in an alliance who failed once, going for twice (good luck tho) NOR is back
Ebony Wings
Oceana's core members have literally been waiting for this chance since 12 October 2007. I can't speak for the rest of them, but I simply wasn't satisfied being a part of somebody else's alliance; Oceana was my home, and as such I never felt comfortable anywhere else. lamuella
war is a leveler to some extent. It means a lot of people are leaving old alliances, and some of them use it as the excuse they need to form a new alliance.

Wilhelm the Demented
It could be due to the fact that a lot of people are getting breaks from school and such, and see this as an opportunity to try out making their own alliance, while they have the time to concentrate on it. :/
mykep
Breaks from school mostly. On top of the people leading spheres collapsing and the changes of which spheres are on top of which. On top of tech raiding happening in red again. On top of war and a 16 score POW list that is open for all to take from. On top of recreations being allowed back with the people who "helped force" them to disband are now being destroyed. Alot of things. You still have that horrid avatar. Why, oh why? This dude, srsly. Codainia
Old alliances breaking up, spheres being invaded, old systems crashing down...most are deserters/refugees from other alliances that are in the war. Most of these new alliances i give a month or two...but some may last.
Electron Sponge
In addition to people fleeing from wars, there are also those of us who have been kept in war for a long time and would like nothing better than a little alliance of our own to grow in peace. Haflinger
There's also the fact that during a massive alliance war, many of the bigger alliances have temporary raiding bans put in place; consequently it's a lot safer to form a new alliance. Ironic.
