kingzog Posted May 7, 2009 Author Report Share Posted May 7, 2009 Well, now that my official duties are done for the moment, allow me to make a few comments of a personal nature. Many will fail to understand the many interpersonal difficulties we had in re-forming Nordreich. For one thing, we had to forgive one another in a way that was both genuine and complete. There are few among the founders who have not grievously wounded their brothers at one time or another. We have put those individual 'betrayals' behind us in order to promote a common, prosperous future. This was incredibly hard, for it meant that many of us had to first examine our own actions in the past, confront them, admit them and then move on. I see something similar happening across all of Planet Bob, and I hope my alliance members forgive me as I speak as someone who has seen an awful lot on Planet Bob over the last three years. We stand at the threshold of a new era in relations among alliances. A lot of slates either have been or are being wiped clean. This is truly fantastic and, as many said in my recent 'return thread', I did indeed pick an interesting time to come back. The new Nordreich may include the longest list of individuals who have most recently been on other alliances' ZI, PZI or EZI lists. (Then again, Vox may win that contest. Who's counting?) This list includes myself and at least one of my fellow Triumvirs. The fact that we are re-forming with no fear of being hunted down speaks volumes about the changes wrought in just a few short weeks. I have done everything within my power to ensure that the return of Nordreich has been one of the worst-kept secrets on Planet Bob. Even before speaking to old friends we approached old adversaries, and we continue to hope to convince them of our sincerity in promoting a new era of relations between us. I am especially grateful to Comrade Craig of the International and Valdemar of The German Empire for our long conversations. Both were quite forthright with the challenges our relationships will face in the future. Nevertheless I am confident that together we can overcome whatever obstacles the Fates place before us. Similarly, I am grateful to non-adversaries, neutrals and friends who have offered advice over the last little while. Some names that come to mind include Electron Sponge, Doitzel (yes, Doitzel has been consulting Nordreich!), Archon, Tyga, Myworld and many others....none of whom, I hope will be too annoyed at my having mentioned them. I welcome everyone to join us in #nordreich on Coldfront.
