During a blockade if the attacking navy has previously been blockaded then the attacking navy will attempt to capture enemy economic supplies thereby reducing their own pre-existing blockade penalty. Aside from performing these counter blockade operations the only other way to reset the blockade penalty is by collecting taxes.

I did read that before, but I just wanted to clarify that the blockade would not go away even if the war expired.

So I guess I shall collect now, then.

So, in-turn, I assume the best strategy would be to collect as soon as you get a blockade placed upon you, correct? Thus it will disappear.

Unless you are able to blockade someone else down the track to reduce your penalty, then I imagine its best to get it over with before it applies across more days etc...
