The citizens of the heavily militarized city were used to grand parades, but this one seemed different. As crowds gathered around the main parade run, a group of press agents-from foreign nations and domestic sources-gathered at the steps of "Unity Hall", the very place where Greater Nordland had been negotiated. The doors opened and a man in a simple suit approached the press group. He cleared his throat. "Ladies and Gentlemen of the Press, Nation, Confederacy and World. My name is Bruno Zamoyski, and I am here to speak to you about the current condition of Prussia and the Nordic Confederacy." He smiled. "As you all know, the opinion of our gentlemanly group of nations has been ridiculed recently with charges of cultural genocide and other crimes against humanity. I will start by saying that these statements are not only nonfactual, but they are hurtful to all men and women living affluent and wonderful lives in each of our nations. I can speak for the nation of Prussia especially--a nation with an incredibly large Slavic minority, of which I have always championed. The Nation of Prussia, and her allies have in no way at all forced cultural change upon their citizens. Certainly, Nordic culture has been introduced throughout Nordland, however the original cultures of those it reaches is strongly preserved and cherished by the core pillars of Nordicism." Cameras flashed around him and he thought; "Hmm...let's see how the commie papers spin this one" "Now, as for the state of Nordland. With the departure of the Valkyrie of Peace from our ranks, I have been named the new President of our glorious union. As a Nord, I am proud. As a Slav, I am proud. As a human, I am proud. The potential of the Nordic Confederacy, with her masses of technological ability, some of the brightest minds in the world, and a culture of ingenuity and industry have the ability to change the world for the better." He looked at his notes. "It is with that, I once again put out my hand--much like I did as Emperor of Confederated Poland to my sworn enemy in Prussian Domain. I invite representatives from "The True European Coalition", "Dragon Bloc", and "Comintern" to meet in a specified neutral nation for quad-party talks with The Nordic Confederacy. As alliances, we each contain a wealth of information, technology and ability. However, if we continue to reap strife between eachother, we put that ability to use. If we can each unify over simple things--assisting disaster torn areas of the world, developing vaccines for children, and advancing our knowledge of this world, we can possibly work toward accomplishing our petty political differences in the scope of what we can accomplish together--not apart." He waved toward the crowd around him. "I thank you all for your time, all representatives from their respective alliances, please feel free to contact myself personally for arrangements for a meeting between our nations, and as to where it would be located." Immediately upon walking away from the steps, personalized letters from Bruno Zamoyski arrived at every place of high government in the world, detailing his vision for a unified and peaceful world. Sarah Tintagyl Posted April 29, 2009 Report Share Posted April 29, 2009 President Zamoyski, It honors me to see a man of your caliber stepping up to a position that I was unable to fulfill, it also does my honor that you have decided to continue any plans that I have tried to outline to bring this world to peace and for that sir, you are to be commended. Indeed the magnitude of this war and the death that would come out of it. Right now the world needs a leader that is not indecisive, I was never able to make up my mind about dedicating myself fully to one political cause and perhaps I never will and though my heart does not lay with the Confederacy politically, it does lay for its citizens and for the people that must perhaps fight and die in the coming battle. As a leader you have been given the task to do what ever you can to prevent this war from occurring and I am sure of your strength and your will power. As I have said before Your Excellency, there is not one person in this horrible situation that cannot be blamed, you and I included, but hopefully good will come out of this and peace will follow. As such I have not issued a formal apology to your organization that may very well look like betrayal and though I tell you it is not, I will let you and history be the judge of such actions. However, in your struggle for peace, if there is anything that I can do in the diplomatic level, you need only to ask and I will try. For I know, if the bombs begin to fall, I will not be able to look north. Too many friends on both sides of the divide will perish and the anguish will be too much for my fragile heart to take. Your terms are meant to oppress and break not only the Nordic peoples, but the ethnic peoples that live within it's blanket. Even worse, your terms will destroy the ability of a generation to help the world in the greatest way possible. Will Nordland be able to slow suffering the world, sure. But will a unified world halt it? Absolutely. Now....if you wish to discuss things like men, not throw stones and stick our tongues out in border regions, I ask you to meet me in a neutral location with a moderator."
