Brisbane, Hanseatic Commonwealth

On a particularly unremarkable day, a gold embossed latter would find it's way to the desk of Sarah Tintagyl-Solidor. Though how it looked was not near as important as the words it contained.

"Dearest Child,

Though you do not know me, nor ever have we met, your name and deeds are well known to me. Bid me introduce myself. My name is Emerald Rukia, perchance you have met my son, Ranather? In any case, a certain item has come into my possession, a family heirloom, that belongs to your husband, Larsa. he may have thought it lost after the fall of the Tionese Capitol, Bastion.

My personal ocean liner should arrive in Brisbane by the time you recieve this letter. I am approaching ninety and wheelchair bound so sadly I cannot deliver the item personally. However, you shall know the ship when you see it, it is a typical sized ocean liner, colored cream with forest green trim, flying the flags of Old Franzharia.

I do so look forward to meeting you, child.

Fondest,

Emerald."

The next day was met with a variety of anxious feelings for meeting some on so wise and ancient as this old Franzharian. When Sarah arrived down at the docks the green trim cruise liner was there just as Emerald had said it had been. Carefully walking up the ramp and greeting the sailors around her, they led the Lady Protector towards the bow of the ship overlooking Brisbane Harbor. Emerald sat in the wheelchair, barely moving and Sarah approached with the utmost caution and respect as she stood close.

"Excellency? You requested I see you? That you have something for my husband."

Emerald smiled as the nurse began moving her towards a door. "This way, it's a rather precious item, so I've kept it locked away." as the two entered the room, Sarah would notice how dark the room was, save a small light on the back wall, all the walls were painted black, adding a unique mystique to the scene.

Hanging under that one light was a sword, a blazing crimson color, adorned with one large diamond-shaped amethyst on the hilt. The blade was etched with ancient runic symbols. At the tip was one inscription, in english: "SOLIDORAS". Along the length of the blade were inscribed the names of the family patrons, with Vayne being the last.

"Vayne Solidor used this blade defending himself at Bastion. It was thought destroyed when Bruno Zamoyski sliced it in thrice. It took a great many years and much money to acquire all the pieces and reforge this blade."

Reaching beyond Emerald, Sarah took the blade in her hands for a moment and held it level. She did not know an extreme wisdom about swords, but she knew what made a good sword and she knew what one felt like when it was good. This was one of those blades. Not wish to insult the woman any longer from holding the precious family saber and placed it back on its supports. Turning back to Emerald, she smiled. "I have heard a great deal about Vayne, of his courage and his strength to succeed in spite of great odds, the world lost a great man that day." She sighed. "I almost feel that I have done a wrong to the people of old-Tion with my recent political forays, but I hope that can be behind us. Emerald if you would like I could have you brought to my residence so that you may see Larsa personally and give him this sword. I'm sure he would be honored to have it."

"That's the blood of the Dragonborn, they see more than lesser men. Vayne fought and died for that which he believed in, and even his enemies respected that." Emerald said as she took Sarah's hands into her own. "You must always do that which you know in your heart to be right, you might stumble or fall, but what's important is that you get back up. You have a rare gift child, a rare gift indeed and a chance to do great things. Yes, I will meet with Larsa, I last saw him when he was but a green young recruit in my personal guard."

Sarah nodded and touched Emerald lightly on the hands and left the room only for a minute to come back moments later with a small personal guard of Lillians to escort the old woman to the proper transportation service. The sword was laid on the woman's lap and Sarah followed behind the chair into the car where they then drove off towards the Solidor Estate. The drive was short, but Emerald handled it extremely well for a woman of her age and Sarah smiled seeing this in her. When they did finally arrive, more guards were able to escort her up the stairs into the Great Hall, where Sarah immediately went to find her husband.

"Larsa." She said finding him in the parlor. "There's someone here I think you might want to me." Sarah said, her face beaming with happiness. "A very old friend of yours with a very special gift." She said taking his hands and dragging him out into the Hall where the two could meet each other again.

Larsa and Emerald exchanged knowing glances as she handed the blade to him. "Trueflame." he said silently. Putting the blade back into it's scabbard he looked again at Emerald. "Hopesfire?" Emerald looked on sadly.

"No, the sisterblade Hopesfire remains lost, I fear." Emerald retorted as Sarah looked on a bit lost and confused. Larsa collected himself and returned to Sarah's side, the weapon now firmly entrenched on his waistbelt.

"I'm sorry, dear. This probably seems very confusing. Perhaps you'd like to hear the story?"

Sarah nodded. "Yes, I have to say as good as I am at Franzharian history and the history of the Solidor family to boot. I'm quite lost." Sarah chuckled. "Please, I'd love to here the story. Come, we can sit down and have tea." She said leading the two into the parlor.

After the three had time to get settled, Larsa bolted out of the room. After a few seconds he came back, hands filled with a rather large and old looking tome. Sarah looked quizzicly at it as she had never seen it, and it wasn't like Larsa to hide things from her.

With one simple swipe, he opened the book to a page showing a large scene. Sarah would recognize the hills, they could be seen from the old Diet Hall. Slicing through the sun was Larsa's blade. Emerging from the ground was a large sapphire blade, an Emerald replacing the Amethyst.

"Hopesfire, the sisterblade to my Trueflame. Traditionally, Trueflame was held by the Patriarch of our line. Hopesfire, on the other hand, to the Matriarch, in this case, you. Ironically, the last known location of Hopesfire's Dias, was an old burial mound said to exist on the spot where the Helsinki Diet Hall once stood."

Emerald then chimed in. "Hopesfire has been lost for centuries, It might be possible it was unearthed when the Hall was built. But with the events of the past few years, we cannot say for sure if it was not destroyed."

Sarah buried her head in her hands when Larsa talked about her being held to finding another sword. To be honest, she had felt in the past few months more like an adventurer than a Head of State. Or she just always felt busy. Ever since she had went to find Mikhail in Nordheim she had been on a long list of travels all over the world and she knew how the sentences began...this was one of them.

"Well if its in Helsinki, I would have to contact the Mariehamm government, after my foray as President of the Nordic Confederacy I was banned from Finland." She turned her head to hold back the anguish. "But maybe if I ask politely we would be able to go back and find this sword. If it means so much to this family then by all means I will do what ever possible to get it back."

She sighed. 'Another adventure...'

"Perhaps not. I happen to known that in the time between the founding of Tion and the Independence of the first Hanseatic League, a Khanne Enterprises had been doing some digging on the site, before the hall was built naturally." said a stoic Emerald. Larsa then smacked a nearby wall.

"Of course! Khanne Enterprises was owned by Elric Khanne...Ranather Rukia! He is a known collector of ancient Nordic antiquities." Larsa said hurriedly.

"If anyone knows anything about that sword's current state, it will be him."

"We can't be sure he has the sword, or even any knowledge of it, but it's a damn good place to start."

Luis kept a close eye on the proceedings from his secret listening post. The Lady was aware he was listening, of course, and he kept copious notes on what went on. As the conversation progressed, he slipped from his hiding spot and moved away, circling around till he approached from another direction. Acting as though he'd been told of the conversation by one of her guards, Luis kept his hands clenched and his anger in check. "To risk the Lady Protector's life over an antique, even one greatly meaningful to her husband's history, is an exercise in bad judgment. Must we again risk the Heart of the Hansa over something that may be meaningless beyond its antiquity?"

OOC: So...I'm in this, but...what did you want with me?

OOC: Well, Sargun has something nice planned I believe, just bide your time until he posts.

IC: "My good man, whomever you are, it is not entirely necessary for her ladyship to travel should it be outside of regular means to acquire the weapon. My units would be more than capable to extract it in a situation such as that." Emerald said in her usual stoic manner, eyeing the Marchar curiously.

"My name is Luis De Luit, and I am the Keeper over the Marchar of the Hansa and Commander of the Marchar Defense Force, the body of Marchar military and security organizations dedicated to the protection of the Lady Protector, her family, and all members of her government."

With that, he took his position behind Larsa and Sarah, nodding to both as he took his usual quiet place behind them.

"Marchar, hmm? Fondly do I remember the days of old Camberlain and the times I spent with Brother Shilon, but alas, naught is wont to worry for the past glories, here we all write a grand new tale." she replied with an unusual smile.

"In any case, before we rush headlong into the unknown....I had already pre-empted this meeting by sending correspondence to The Southern Empire. If they know anything, we ought recieve a reply in short order." Larsa retorted.

Sarah chuckled. "Well perfect then, when you hear anything about this Larsa, please tell me." Getting up from her seat she bowed to her husband and to Emerald. "If you'll excuse me for a moment, I'll be upstairs for a moment, I just want to check on a few things." As Sarah left the parlor and walked out into the main hall she sighed and looked at her hands. Only two years ago they had been pearl white without a wrinkle or anything that would show any deformity. Now within only a year or so, her recent adventures had given her scars and signs of struggle all over her body. "Another adventure. Sarah, you're more of a traveler than a leader."

Arriving in the bedroom, she walked into the wardrobe and moving the various numbers of shoes and outfits out of the way she came to the various trinkets she had received from her travels. Necklaces, amulets, prayer booklets, two swords, and the suit of armor that she had received after the plane crash. Going and sitting back on the bed she sighed. "Leader, adventurer, traveler. I never would have thought...and now another thing that I am destined to find apparently." Sarah looked at the crucifix on her vanity. "And you wonder why I pray so much."
