"I come to you, in a desperate hour. The civil war that has ended in our victory has cost the lives of many people. Now we must look to our future. I turn to you, the Curristan people to lead us forward in victory. We must now make friends to survive and that is what we will do. Long Live Curristan!!" The crowd cheered and waved the Curristan Flag which was now being raised in the capital, Jakirata. Message to all nations: We request diplomatic relations will any nation that is friendly. Franz Ferdinand Posted April 27, 2009 Report Share Posted April 27, 2009 (edited) Curristan Protectorate Treaty Upon ratification of this treaty, which signifies the signatory nation's approval of all terms, both explicit and implied, contained herein, Curristan will become a protectorate of Lübeck. Lübeck protectorate status is meant as a means of strengthening and protecting weaker nations which, Lübeck firmly believes, have the potential to become great states in their own right and become productive powers in the world at large. Upon signing, the protectorate and Lübeck agree to observe the terms stipulated below: Article I - Mutual Treaties Section I: The nature of the relationship between Lübeck and the protectorate is such that it shall automatically constitute a Mutual Attack/Defense Pact between the two. Section II: The protectorate must submit all new treaties and agreements to Lübeck for approval in order to insure there is no conflict of interests or potential problems. Lübeck will have 24 hours to approve or deny said treaties. If Lübeck fails to act within 24 hours, Curristan has full authority over said treaty or agreement with no repercussions available for Lübeck. Curristan does however wish it to be completely understood and agreed that no intentional breach of contract shall ever be conducted. Any and all controversial issues will be discussed before request for approval is made. Article II - The Duties of Lübeck Section I: Lübeck, as guardian and of the protectorate nation, agrees to support, protect, and aid Curristan whenever they should require it. Section II: Lübeck, as guardian of Curristan, will make all of their respective decisions that necessitate input from the same, and pertaining to the nation with the well-being and security of both nations in mind (this includes rulings on treaties, declarations of war, issues of social justice, and other such matters). Article III - Duties of Curristan Section I: Curristan agrees to support, if ever Lübeck should call upon them to do so, the Lübeck in its own endeavours, as a gesture of good faith and fraternity between the two. Section II: Curristan is required to inform Lübeck of all decisions concerning international politics, diplomacy, and any other public-relations related matters, so that Lübeck may review and approve of said decision before any action is carried out on the part of Curristan. All decisions will be made within an appropriate timely manner and with Article II, Section II in mind. Article IV - Government Section I: Curristan will be allowed to maintain their established government structures and leaders, they have inviolable sovereignty in regards to their own leadership and politics. Section II: A list of all Curristan officials is to be provided, upon request, to the Lübeckian government. Section III: Ultimately authority in matters of potential treaties and national warfare of Curristan rests with Lübeck, per Article I, Section II. If so desired, Curristan may offer input for Lübeck’s consideration, who agrees to take it into account when the time comes to make a decision. Article V - Final Agreements Section I: Lübeck will make statements of intent upon request, for all issues in which Lübeck has the power of decision, to the representatives of Curristan, so that the protectorate may understand the motivations and considerations of Lübeck on any given issue. Section II: If Curristan ever ceases to exist, their land will transfer immediately to the control of Lübeck, or any new incarnations of the nation. This term shall never be terminated, even if the remainder of the treaty is voided. This term is non-negotiable. The signatures of the national leaders below, representatives of their respective nations and with full legislative powers to enact such a historic treaty, represent the dawn of a new era of peace and prosperity between Lübeck and Curristan. United we form a grand collective, unique in our own right, but unified in one grand empire. Long live Lübeck long live Curristan!
