Xizang is Accepted into ComIntern.

Today it was revealed that Xizang had passed inspection and had acquired the necessary votes to enter into ComIntern. In fact, 100% of all votes taken were in favor of Xizang's joining the pact. Chairman Jintao graciously accepted and gave a speech at the end of the parade route at the foot of Potala Palace:

"Blessed People of Xizang, I come before you with great news. The People's Republic of Xizang has been accepted into ComIntern, or formally the Communist International. This group embodies what our own nation does. We shall receive on an international level what you receive on an individual level. We shall receive as we give, the greatest and guiding moral of our own system of government and economics.

We shall endeavor to give all that we can. We hope to advance the already good standard of living we enjoy, and create lasting bonds between foreign nations and our own. Together with these nations, we shall forge a safe world for communism and socialism, utilizing nonviolent and uninvasive techniques to show the world the truth, despite violence and invasion being horrible and false stereotypes placed on our beloved system.

We shall endeavor to show the world the truth about 'Rational Communism.' We shall show them that the 'boogeymen' of communism do not represent us, that they are relics of an older and less refined form of our system. Communism used to be a tool for dictators to grasp and hold authoritarian power. We must disprove that, both on an individual, national and international level.

We shall endeavor to be a testament to what communism can be. We shall show the world what communism truly is. The only reason it failed was because of the savage urges of less refined and controlled men, who sought to use it for personal gain. Here in this country, the power resides with the people. You can choose your own fates, you can choose your own destinies and the destiny of this glorious nation. We shall lead by example and show all those who would subvert our image to a falsehood that you may trample this nation, you may trample this government, but you cannot trample our culture nor our spirit. We shall remain strong.

Finally, I will take it upon myself to represent you, the people of Xizang, to the world abroad. I shall show them what we truly are and that they have nothing to fear from communists. Peace shall be our way. We shall be of the Vanguard of New Communism and we shall open the way for enlightenment and transcendence of society!

Now please, enjoy this day of independence, democracy and peaceful victory, for the day is yours!

The speech was met with thunderous applause as thousands of flags were raised and waved by the hands of the onlookers. The People's Republic looks to accomplish great things along with the other nations of ComIntern.

Lhasa, Xizang

Today, Premier Jinai announced that reconstruction has begun on the main mountain pass from Xizang to Dragonisia. It will be the widest and most advance pass through the the Himalayas, a wonder in itself. He also announced that two 65 foot tall Fu Lions, cast in metal, shall be erected on the border of Xizang facing out. Plans for the road and lions will be released later in the day.

OOC: Badass speech. Me like!

IC: Canada could send construction equipment and crews to help our comrades in Tibet with repairing the mountain pass. We could also send some material, if required.

OOC: Thanks.

IC: The Canadians would be more than welcome, having their housing for the duration of the project paid for of course, including meals. As for material, it won't be necessary, but we thank our comrades from the West for their abounding generosity.

We will send the workers and equipment immediately. They will arrive within a few days.

Lhasa, Xizang

Today, the Xizang World Trade Center commenced business for the first time. The large complex was completed shortly after the elections and stands as a testament to what the current leadership hope to accomplish.

In an interview, Chairman Jintao had this to say:

"The World Trade Center marks the first step and monument to our aspiring dream. As it stands, we have a pretty good standard of living. We are hoping to rapidly modernize the country and this was only the beginning. Once reconstruction of the Himalayan Pass is completed, we will begin construction of a new Commercial and Business district here in Lhasa, as well as new Residential Centers. This is a very exciting time.

OOC: Bought a Stock Market a few days ago, this was my first chance to post it.

Shigatse, Xizang

Plans for the massive sculptures have been publicly released. They will be Fu Lions, one male and one female as is the custom, each of which will sit on the sides of the road, the male on the right looking towards Xizang, the female on the left. They are modelled after Ming-style Fu Lions rather than of the Qing style.

This is an exact model of what the finished Fu Lions will look like, scaled to size. The final sculptures will be cast in metal and will be over 60 feet tall.

Traditionally, Fu Lions are guardians against negative mythical powers. These will be a symbol of the culture of Xizang and hence their purpose, will face out towards the world or in this case, Dragonisia.

People's Liberation Army Soldiers Move North!

Today it was announced that with the collapse of Altin Urda, PLA soldiers from Xizang moved into Xinjiang Uyghur to secure it as a protectorate of the People's Republic. Chairman Jintao made a brief public statement regarding the move:

"We'll be moving to take the Xinjiang Uyghur region as a protectorate of Xizang. We cannot at this point in time say what our future plans are for the region. Right now, it is just important to move troops into the area so we may prevent a power vaccuum. At this time we will hold it as a protectorate."

The natives are projected to cooperate with PLA soldiers. As of yet, there have been no attacks on the convoys from Xizang.

OOC: Don't know if Sumer is purged or not. If not I'll void this.

Urumqi, Xinjiang Uyghur

Today, the People's Liberation Army marched into Urumqi, the capital and largest city of the Xinjiang Uyghur region. The soldiers themselves were met with widespread support and were greeted by citizens in the streets. Locals seemed warm to the idea of a government of the same culture ruling the region.

The night was quite as business as usual continued in the city. With the PLA occupying Xinjiang, the territory is now under the complete control of the People's Republic of Xizang as a protectorate. However, the region will be considered part of Xizang sovereign territory and will have the same benefits as any other part of Xizang.

*Private to Xinjiang*

We wonder why your military is in our protectorate lands? We are allies and as such we are asking for a peaceful removal from our protectorate lands.

Private Reply

This was due to a diplomatic error. We shall respect your claim and begin leaving immediately.

Northern Xizang

Due to slow international communication by no fault of Beijing, Xizang was slow to know of the Xinjiang Region already being protected by the Beijing Corporation. Upon learning of this, the PLA was quick to evacuate the area, leaving it to our fellow Chinese Comrades' able hands.

The batallions have returned to their assigned posts within Xizang and have resumed normal duties.

Himalaya Pass, Xizang

Today marked the completion of construction on the damaged Himalayan highway, now known as Himalaya Pass. The two Guardian Lions have also been completed, making for a rather grandiose entrance to the country.

A small town has also begun completion, taking the name 'Himalaya Pass.' With the task completed, excess workers have been transferred to Lhasa to support expansion and modernization efforts. Work will begin on a permanent government residence after the new Commercial and Residential Sectors are completed.

OOC: Just bought some infra.

Lhasa, Xizang

Today, the National Security Act was passed, closing the Northern border of Xizang to foreign travel.

Premeier Wu Jinai explained it in more detail:

"We had been having a long dialogue with the People's Assembly. The lands to our North are rife with instability, and we really don't even know what nations are where anymore. Chairman Jintao, myself and the legislature agreed that we should close our borders until everything up there is sorted out."

*Classified*

Xizang has commenced full mobilization of the military. The nation was set to DEFCON 1 and the Threat level was increased to Severe. International travel was halted, no Xizang nationals would be allowed to leave the country, only enter.

Troops from all over the nation began reporting to their posts. Their mission was still untold to them, but within a short period of time the People's Liberation Army would be amassed and prepared for their greatest and first challenge, if it came to that.

Lhasa, Xizang

Today, Chairman Zheng announced the implementation of the Universal Higher Education Act, which would guarantee universal college and university education to all citizen students who qualify.

The specifics are:

-All domestic higher education (i.e. colleges and universities) will be payed for in full by the government of the People's Republic.

-The People's Republic will not pay for room and board.

-To qualify, students must be accpeted into a university or college. Students who do not make it to college or go straight into the work force are not given an equal sum.

-The People's Republic will not pay for attendance to foreign universities or colleges.

The new policy was well received and slated as a benchmark for Xizang's endeavors to further modernize and innovate communism within the People's Republic.
