OOC: I don't get it then. The railway goes though HIS country. Right? Thus, to get onto the part of the railway that is physically inside his country, you have to cross over his boarders. The railway may be OPERATED by RUSSIAN, but it is PHYSICALLY passing THOUGH his country.

A neutral nation wouldn't allow military forces to cross though it to attack another nation. It's like how I closed my airspace, I don't want ny of them flying over MY country to attack people because I would be enabling them to attack.

You see to not understand that there is a physical world that doesn't operate based on "jurisdiction", unless RUSSIAN is a separate country and owns a sovereign line though all the nations that cuts them in half.

So far the German advance was progressing, but as the forces advanced further into SlavoRussia, they began to experience stiff resistance. German forces were being ambushed by partisan units, and sporadic SlavoRussian offenses, while futile, were being more and more frequent. Fearing the invasion force could stall, Generalfeldmarschall and Commander-in-Chief East, Kurt Fockland plotted a new course of action. Instead of moving forward, in one push, the German invasion force would be split into two groups. They would launch a combined offensive to split the enemy forces in two, encircle them, then annihilate them. It was a daring plan, but the Generalfeldmarschall was confident in the ability of his forces. Thus, the operation began.

Operation Nordic Thunder

The plan was simple. Two German forces of two hundred fifty thousand troops and one thousand tanks, plus infantry fighting vehicles and artillery were to strike simultaneously towards the cities of Orel and Veronezh. Supporting them would be over a thousand artillery pieces and constant air to ground support from the Luftwaffe. Signaling the beginning of the attack was the thunderous sound of 155mm Self Propelled Artillery, 254mm Mortars and Panzerwerfer M-MLRS 2000. They would strike enemy positions, destroying or softening them before the armour and mechanized units were to progress. This massive strike would last well over one hour.

Next, the German Luftwaffe joined the fray. Using a combination of high level bombers, multi-role fighters and ground attack fighters, they would unleash total destruction. The bombers dropped mostly free falling bombing, aiming to completely saturate the area with death and destruction. Multi-Role and Ground attack fighters dropped a combination of cluster and 1,000lb guided munitions. Their goal was simple, they would blow a two-mile-wide gap in both fronts, allowing for German forces to exploit and advance. The Luftwaffe would fly over 4,000 sorties in support of this operation. In the skies, Lu-65 Eagle Fighters would continue to engage SlavoRussian fighters.

Upon getting the exploit they needed, Panzer and Panzergrenadier divisions would advance. They would be followed by German infantry divisions. Their goal would be to mop up enemy forces and engage enemy hard and soft targets. They hoped to advance some 80km into Russian territory, to capture both towns. Upon capturing them, both forces would consolidate their fronts and renew their push to Moscow, the lair of the beast.

Aside from the renewed offensive, German forces would continue their operation of launching cruise missiles into Russia. Their targets would continue to be communication/power centers and major SlavoRussian airfields.

With the support in Moscow, the troops pulled out into defensive positions in the cities of Tver', Rzhev, Obinsk, Kaluga, Tula, Novomoskovsk, and Ryazan. The remainder of the battle ready troops hammered thier way into the newly taken positions with home based artillery and short range missiles. Surface to air missiles hit the Lu-65s dead on as they attempted to hit the defensive psotions. AA carried over was prepared and readied in the defensive towns.

The already battled over cities of Orel and Veronezh recieved support from oncoming NNE divisions with thier MBTs already in the area. The two home defensive cities were won and taken and the Germans were driven back by both NNE and Slavorussian forces. The city of Bryansk was also swept and taken as well as prepared for invasion.

Several cruise missiles fell to the advanced RUSSIAN missile defense system which kept the positions ready and prepared. The complex network of short, medium, and long missiles within the cities would confuse and be able to splatter any enemies that attempted to take the now heavily fortified and refueled cities.

The Northern Empire was in town.

Military soldiers and their equipment were being loaded onto numerous civilian vessels that had been approriated by the military for transportation use. The process was procceding very quickly and efficency due to the training that the men had recieved through out their lives and it was estimated it would only take between one to two hours to have everything ready onboard the vessels. Once that was accomplished the vessels would depart from Helzan before turning and making their way south across the sea and around the edge of the world till they reached the northern land of Slavorussia where they would disembark and move to reinforce Slavorussia in its defense.

After consultation with the leaders of the Party, I further announced a decision to ask the People's Assembly for a resolution expressing the unity and determination of the Azerbaijani Republic in supporting freedom and in protecting the Sovereignty of the Transcaucasus and Russia.

These latest actions of the Norden regime have given' a new and grave turn to the already serious situation in Eastern Europe.

This situation with the accompanying friendship between us and the RUSSIAN alliance, obligates the Azerbaijani Republic and other countries to act in accordance with their constitutional processes to meet Nords aggression against any of the parties or RUSSIAN states.

Our policy has been consistent and unchanged since the nuclear war. I summarized it in four simple propositions:

1. The Azerbaijani Republic keeps her word. Here as elsewhere, we must and shall honor our commitments.

2. The issue is the future of Eastern Europe and the Transcaucasus as a whole. A threat to any nation in that region is a threat to all, and a threat to us.

3. Our purpose is peace.. We have no military, political, or territorial ambitions in the area. We will not cross any border, but defend the sovereignty of our nation.

4. This is not just a aggression war, but a struggle for freedom on every front of human activity. Our military and economic assistance to RUSSIAN and Slavorussia in particular has the purpose of helping these countries to repel aggression and strengthen their independence.

The threat to the nation of Slavorussia has long been clear. The Norden regime has constantly sought to take over Slavorussia. This dishonourable nordic alliance has violated the peace and lied to the International Community. It has systematically conducted a campaign of subversion, which includes the direction, training, and supply of personnel and arms for the conduct of a war in Slavorussian territory. In the CSSR and Prussia, they mantained troops for the purpose of "joint training", but we knew they were lieing, history proved Europeans word doesen't count, and most recently carried out combat operations--all in direct violation of Slavorussian sovereignty

I recommend a resolution expressing the support of the People's Assembly for all necessary action to protect our Sovereignty and to assist nations who are fighting to defend the whole Transcaucasian region. At the same time, I assure the People's Assembly that we shall continue readily to explore any avenues of political solution that will effectively guarantee the removal of Nordic subversion and the preservation of the independence of the nations of the area.

The events of these days would in any event have made the passage of a People's Assembly resolution essential. Hostile nations must understand that in such a period the Azerbaijani Republic will continue to protect its national interests, and that in these matters there is no division among us.

The war was now fully on and MILCOM knew it as a result of this all Forces would receive additional Orders to cover any circumstance should contact with Molotov be lost they would have full authority to win disregarding losses and Civil Rights, should they get trapped they were to let the enemy in and detonate their explosives, should they capture a town they were to kill everyone in uniform or armed. Atyrau, Ural River Delta, Bosporan- Kazakhstan

Two brand new Ivan Rogov class landing ships of the Azerbaijani Navy have appeared on the horizon line, carrying the Azeri flag, and the flag of the Union of Transcaucasian Republics. The radio operator immediatly contacted the Harbor City of Atyrau to comunicate codes and permission to unload the troops and the cargo near the city and establish a temporary beach head on the northern shore of the caspian sea.

Along with the AHDD General Husein Khan Turgut and AHDD Costantinople landing ships, the AHDD Ilham Aliyev battlecruiser stopped at 30 miles from the coast to patrol the waters and check for any suspicious activity.

The load consists of a battallion of 530 marines, 25 T-72 Tanks and 40 BMP-2 Infantry Fighting Veichles each ship, for a total of 1060 men, 50 T-72 Tanks and 80 BMP-2. The primary objective is to establish a temporary camp near the city of Atyrau where more reinforcments, veichles and special forces will arrive during the next days to transport the troops from Atyrau to the Caucasus, to be coordinated with the Bosporanian and Slavorussian command. Most of the soldiers speak fluent russian, and are able to talk with the locals to aquire informations on enemy movements and shortcuts.

The Azerbaijani Army, following a rapid upgrade of its equipments and military hardwares, seems to be pretty far more organized since the Talysh war and the Dagestan uprising, both battallions have gained experience during the war in those hostile environments and are somehow not new to this kind of warfare.

Battle of Orel and Veronezh:

The arrival of New Empire was no surprise to the Armee Group. They had been following their progress for days, through satellite intelligence. Therefore, German forces were well prepared. The first sign of their presence was a massive artillery strike onto German positions. During most of the advance, they operated in spread out lines of offensive operations. Therefore, while the artillery would slam into various positions, it was high unlikely to cause any significant damage. That is not to say the Armee Groups didn't receive any casualties. They had lost five thousand men, plus hundreds of Nakil ones and Infantry Fighting Vehicles. It was the goal of German forces to now get rid of these artillery positios. The Northern Empire forces had made a strategic mistakes. They fired their artillery from static positions, which allowed Reich forces to begin anti-artillery operations. Essentially, for each artillery position spotted and pinpointed, there were dozens of surface-to-surface miniature missiles heading towards them. Most of these missiles were designed to penetrate the center of the unit and cause a central explosion disabling them for good.

When Northern Empire ground forces engaged German Panzer Groups, the battle became armageddon on earth. German forces initially pulled back to safe and, somewhat, static positions, to not allow for the possibility of encirclement or the cutting off of strategic supplies and materials. However, as they pulled back, they felt the full fury of the German tactical and technological superiority. The Nakil 1A3s began to show why there some of the most powerful tanks in the world. Using a combination of FLIR, with a 13km targeting range; 8km classification range, and LADAR @ ~10km classification range, they fired into the distance, using its powerful 140mm electrothermal-chemical main gun.

German infantry, supported by Arica I Armoured Fighting Vehicles and the occasional artillery barrage pulled back, slightly. If they were going to give up ground, it would be willingly and not through force. They continued to engage Northern Empire forces. Providing some overhead support was the new Focke-Achgelis Fa 223 Drache, Anti-helicopter and gunship rotary craft. There were only two squadrons available in the ReichWehr, but they would be put to use. Each helicopter was equpped with 82mm rockets (20 per pod), 57mm rockets (45 per pod) and four Air-to-ground Anti Tank Guided Missiles. 33x120mm CA.33 Chain Gun woul rip enemy infantry into shreds, in quick and rapid attacks..

The Luftwaffe Lu-65 Eagles were caught off guard by the sudden appearence of Northern Empire Surface-to-Air Missiles. Over thirty fighters were loss on this day, one of the largest yet, for the Luftwaffe. Other fighters were able to survive through the use of their high tech defensive systems. The Lu-65 used their ADN-2 infrared jammers, EOCM-6 pod-mounted blue-green laser used to detect and jam passive systems such as TV/FLIR automatic trackers, and XC-100 countermeasures dispenser, which is programmed to deploy multi-spectral chaff and flares only in the direction of a threat as determined by the NSER-5. The flares are treated with chemical additives that spoof the IR sensors of most IR guided missiles. Additionally, data from the NSER-5’s RWR set is linked to the chaff cutting mechanism – the XC-100 is sophisticated enough to interpret the RWR’s information and cut the aluminium strips to provide for maximum reflectivity to the RF band being deceived.

With the sudden appearence of allied forces, the Luftwaffe deemed it necessary to erradicate enemy RADAR systems once and for all. Therefore, they approved the operation. Every single bomber in the Luftwaffe, left from air bases in the Reich and Ukraine. Half of these bombers were loaded with R - 202 Air-launched Cruise Missile, equipped with pre-programmed inertial navigation system (INS) with passive, wide band RF seeker with home-on-jam (HoJ) capability warheads. The other bombers were equipped with dummy warheads, designed to trick and overwelm enemy SAMs. These "dummy" missiles uses a number of methods, ranging from the deployment of chaff to a false infrared signature similar to that of a strike aircraft to transmitting a radar signature of the same in order to confuse radar operators and dilute enemy air defences from intercepting strike aircraft and missiles. To stay out of the harm, the bombers would launch these missiles over Kiev, Ukraine. First, the dummy Air-to-Ground Cruise Missiles were launched. Fifteen minutes later, the R - 202 Air-launched Anti Radiational Cruise Missile, equipped with pre-programmed inertial navigation system (INS) with passive, wide band RF seeker with home-on-jam (HoJ) capability warheads were fired, some one thousand five hundred in all. In the end, they would blind RUSSIAN RADAR systems completely.

Operation: Lightning Bolt

The second object for High Command was the total destruction of SlavoRussian and RUSSIAN communication's assets. Therefore, their next plan was drafted. This was to be a massive attack on their satellite communications; thus, crippling them completely. To be used in this attack were the R.746. C anti-sattelite missile (ASAT) missile. These missiles were to be launched from a combination of launch pads and submarines positioned in the North Sea. The missiles had a maximum altitude of 730 Kilometers and Maximum Velocity of 24,000 Km/h. The were guided by M3667 Arbit Computer Chip, Multi-band millimetric RADAR, Gyro RADAR Array, IR LIDAR Array, Teal-blue array and Inertial Guidance. The warhead was a 70kg HE hit-to-kill and enCAPsulated MetalStorm [CAPMES] Over fifty of these missiles would be launched. In the end, this would be a space Pearl Harbor to SlavoRussia and RUSSIAN communication networks.

Cyber attacks from the Reich were also launched.

Situation at Home

At home, the alert status was raised for the first time since the beginning of the war. At various military depots, Reich citizens were being handed mass produced gas mask and protective suits, along side portable radios, some canned goods and other necessities. All major computer networks had extra precautions put in place. Th Reich's biological and chemical detection center was put on high alert. All over the Greater German Reich, LIDAR systems, hooked up a larger detection database, were put on high alert. The Reich's satellite systems were spaced out and gyro-synced, therefore making them much hard to shoot down in a counter attack.

The Reich's Military Districts were increased. Each district had their forces augmented from the regular fifty thousand to one hundred thousand. An additional three hundred thousand troops were called up for active duty from the age: 30 and up category. Therefore, the total number of Reich troops were now 1.5 million. Two hundred thousand were scheduled to be shipped to the east, bringing the total number of German troops there to eight hundred thousand.

Some German factories shifted to wartime production, to replace losses of tanks, IFVs and aircraft.

Whoops the T-90 has the 125, not the 152 mm the Black Eagle has.

OOC: I fired from defensive positions in towns from the north and north west.

OOC: Defensive position for artillery against a modern enemy still won't do much. That was one of the main issues in the cold war, keeping artillery safe. At a static position, a miniature missile could still wipe them out. That is why the USSR AND US adopted different artillery tactics. They would have never fired from a static position or defensive as you call it..they would always fire and move.

Molakian Siege Line

"TURN THE CITY INTO A COOKIE LADS!" yells one commander of 1st Corps. The 1st Corps of the Molakian Army pushes foward, turning inward to form a semi circle. 2nd Corps finishes the circle, with the two halves coming around. The Artillery moves foward and around the city to bombard it.

Nikolai Romanov looks at the battle plan, then frowns.

"Get me a radio! Frolov, Take 10,000 men and their APCs, AAA, etc and form a fast reaction unit. If we start to get flanked i want some help for those boys!" he yells, moving his men around.

The City shall fall soon....
