Shadowsage
*Classified Report sent to the UK, the Western Republic, Promised Land, GTI, the New Northern Empire, Lubeck, and Saboria* The highly robust Hammerburst and Thunderburst Assault Rifles had served the Imperium since its' conception, seeing it through many conflicts such as the Rainforest War. But the weapons were antiquated, left behind by the continual march of science. As it was, a prototype weapon had been issued for testing to one-thousand soldiers, along with variants in ammunition. The Imperial Bolter works off of several revolutionary concepts. The large .45 Caliber ammunition creates beastly recoil, forcing the development of highly efficient recoil dampeners which vent what little gases stay in the barrel to all directions. This reduces recoil to manageable levels for a trooper in all but the most extreme circumstances. Bolter ammunition--called a 'bolt'--is a solid slug. Conventional solid slugs utilize a propellant charge contained in a casing that, when ignited, forces the bullet out of the barrel. In contrast, a bolt is self-propelled; It features its own integrated solid propellant which propels the bolt at high speeds, essentially acting like a miniature rocket. The propellant itself is shaped to control the bolt's direction and speed; However, this method of rocket propulsion would normally warp the barrel due to gas pressure. The Boltgun uses an ingenious method to prevent this. As well as the rocket propellant, a tiny amount of conventional charge is also utilized. This charge is just strong enough to force the bolt out of the barrel and ignite the bolt's propellant. The rocket-propellant is carefully fused to ignite just after leaving the barrel, alleviating any possibility of pressure build-up. The bolt then accelerates away towards the target under its own power. The standard boltgun ammunition is designed to penetrate the target and then detonate, causing immense damage to the target and leaving little opportunity for survival. Ammunition for the weapon is, understandably, rather expensive. However the benefits of being able to accelerate a large bullet to extremely high speeds and puncture armor outweighs the cons of cost and difficulty of manufacture. 1. A solid-fuel rocket propellant base 2. An outer casing containing conventional charge 3. Gyrostabilizer 4. Mass-reactive fuse. Has a split-second timer to delay detonation upon impact until after the shot penetrates the target. 5. Hardened penetrating tip. This allows for the bolt to penetrate most armor before detonation. 6. Main Charge 7. Depleted Uranium core. This is a very dense material, adding weight and thus momentum to the round when in flight. This aids in the bolt's penetration of the victim. Three guns with appropriate amounts of ammunition are availible to each of your countries for testing, pending a reply to this report. We await your response. LeVentNoir
OOC: Cool. Pretty cool. Its supposed to weigh more than 30-40kg weapon though.
Shadowsage
OOC: Considering your own weapons are roughly 5kg without clips using some sort of carbon weave, I'm sure I can do the same. And, noting that I reduced the caliber to .45, it'll be much lighter using composites instead of metal and smaller bolts. Lynneth
OOC: Canada, not Saboria. IC: *Private message to IoA* A quite interesting weapon that you have devised there. We would be interested in testing, and possibly enhancing it. There's always possibilities to make the gun lighter, the projectile more effective, etc.
Shadowsage
OOC: My bad. IC: *Classified Response* Of course. Our Communist friends in Canada are more than welcome to a copy of the weapon. We would certainly appreciate being briefed on any modifications you make to the original design. Shadowsage
*Classified* An inconspicuous cargo ship bearing multiple Bolter variations such as a heavy Machine-Gun and Pistol with ammunition was routed towards Canada. It would dock in Puerto Invierno before traveling to Canada and offloading its' cargo.

It would dock in Puerto Invierno before traveling to Canada and offloading its' cargo. *Classified* Once received, the Bolters would be divided evenly, into two. One half would be sent into the Black Mesa research facility, while the other would be brought to the SkyCity research centres. Both would get the task of improving the weapon, though it was not a high-priority project. Results would likely not be seen for some weeks.
