The Ellis Doctrine

During these plentiful times, the Kingdom of Mayo recognizes all countries' needs to expand. However, there is no excuse whatsoever that a world power may be able to completely conquer any region of another country. Instead, this must be done through annexation, whcih requires the consent of the people or leader of the region. If this is not possible, then the leader may be purged, and the region returned to the pool. There, it may be declared a protectorate of a nation until it is claimed by a new nation. This nation can not have a significant amount of power in the world. Although the Kingdom of Mayo recognizes the needs of world powers, it respects the need of opportunity for new nations to grow.

Therefore, here in the city of Ellis, in the Kingdom of Mayo, we, the king and queen, sign this doctrine declaring that all unruled lands are free of the oppression of the world powers, and promise to intervene whenever a world power attempts to annex a territory without consent, or when the territory is undeclared.

Signed,

His Majesty King John Christopher I the Great

Her Majesty Queen Anna the Magnificent

The consent of the current ruler of the territory, if he has not yet been purged.

And yes, it may have dire consequences, but it is, what we believe, is for the good of the world. Besides, this concept was based off the Monroe Doctrince, in which American vowed to do the same thing.

And how exactly would you stop anyone with the armed forces at your disposal? A Single Division of the Ground Wing masses more than your entire army.

True, but there are other nations who have messaged me agreeing to do the same thing, however, to be safe, they have not made their statement public.

We were hoping you would enact this retroactively, as we just annexed the pacific. And are looking for some nation to test a new divisional level maneuver on.

However in reality, your pathetic nation can talk all it likes, but Glorious Aotearoa well recognise this when it has a meaningful effect on us.

OOC: they did, but for some reason she's still under this strange impression that she has the power to deny people places or land on the map

OOC: Hmm...no comment. But she does have a point in that he has not made a DoE yet.
