GTI sent in search teams to investigate and found that the country had dissolved into bitter cival war from the over-abundance of food. Weapons from the combined Diberian Crisis (invasion and civil war) and Diberian Crisis Aftermath, or the Diberian Zombie War, were being used by these barbaric factions. It is believed that the local government started to seperate itself from Boomtown but could not control its people. Thus, GTI sent in GDI to calm the inhabitants, using force if neccesary. The factions were not eager to be under the leadership of far, yet strong, leaders and so rebelled. GTI troops were spurred forward after the cowerdly terrorist attack in Aruba, claiming victory days ago. Further details would put the good memory of Boomtown down the drain, and are thus exempt from public knowledge. However, GTI is pondering what to use the land for; GTI will take care of the people for now, but it is making no money & thus is looking for a needy country that can sustain it and use it, accepting a small fee by GTI. GTI will begin investigating contracts after some clean-up is made. GTI Starts to REFORM A short while ago, contact with GTI HQ on Aruba was lost; thankfully it did not last that long, only days. A massive terrorist attack from Boomtown Diberia occured, severing critical power station network hubs, destroying solor grid's, and costing GTI billions in damages. Luckly GTI emergency personel minimized civilian casuaties to under 30; not teh same can be endured by soilders however. Over 400 brave men and women died in combat against the terrorists, saving critical locations from harm and stopping any of the terrorists to leave unharmed. Thus, GTI has undertaken several reforms to increase security, increase spending in future technology to increase sales by offering items avalible no where else, and more. It is estimated that GTI shall be 100% back to normal in 5 months, however this shall be greatly speeded if aid is sent to the families of men-at-arms who lost their lives defending Aruba from terrorism, and to those whom lost their homes and jobs from the damage of war. Non-Public News Items //The following has been sent to: The Northern Empire Official 153, Selected Classified Officials and Others. The first article was also sent to certain IoA Officials// Boomtown Diberia ZOMBIE INFESTED! What REALLY happened! A short while ago, all contact with Boomtown Diberia was lost. GTI sent in search teams to investigate and found that the inhabitants of Boomtown Diberia had been turned into Disease AS-Z1, or the Zombie Disease. Shortly thereafter, GTI moved in to secure the area and stop the zombie virus once more. This zombie horde was unfourtunatly resistant to the LZK-MK3, so a new virus, named the LZK-MK3.1, was devised and field tested; it was, by far, more effective than the old virus & killed the zombies in almost half an hour (compared to hours for the old virus). One of the only true things in the broadcast is that we "won" days ago, with very small numbers of zombies remaining. GTI will clean this mess up. Aperture Science Takes the Reign's of GTI! What REALLY happened at Aruba! After a small coup, GTI is now under the leadership of Aperture Science. Jerrey Rough and others have run, no accepting Aperture Science's rule. The satalite radio in one vehicle boomed as the small number of GTi runaways headed for a spot where Aperture Science was not in control. Jerrey Rough knew the site from a peronaly-known reporter who was still stuck inside with several others, including a crazy man who didn't talk but was a Smiler and a very, VERY large man from the Imperium of America. The area still had a nubmer of unknown zombies -it was too far from important GTI locations & too close to secret Aperture Science (A.S.) Field Labertory Compounds-, and those inside were battlehardened and had a huge supply of food. No rescue was ever sent because, well, no one cared nor' wanted to spend the time and resources to a small group that may die off any day. Jerrey Rough was heading there because he needed professional, battle-field elite soidlers to start tumbling down A.S. and retake GTI before A.S. did major harm. Aruba The marketplace was just as busy today, but it seemed silent today. The Main Port still had workers unloading and loading cargo to boats. Cars rushed and beeped. Construction crews worked on repair. But they all were uneasy for their future, for what happened they they knew but were silent about. One man, although he seemed like just any other traveler coming to see the sights of either beaches or money-built conference rooms, was on a mission. And he was perhaps theo nly one on Aruba that was on a mission to find out why they were petrified in fear enmass. Why no one spoke up. OOC: Yes I'm rezzing that old survival thing. There was still a slight buzz of conversation here and there, but much of it was whispered, hurried. He took it in, and noted that it would probably noit be in his best interest to accost anyone in public--that would attract too much attention. Better to find a hotel to base himself from... However Richard O'Hara, current chairman of GTI Wing 1 and has been since it was first started, decided that having his last name is better then Wing 1; especially since activities inbetween the three wings vary greatly. Private Military Hardware Information ->With the constant use of electromagnetic pulse technology in the modern battlefield, GTI has been retooling certain technologies to repel these kinds of attacks. ->GTI has been EMP-proofing its tanks for quite some time now; although an estimated 67.3% of the tanks are still not EMP-proofed, only in hot-spot areas like in The Northern Empire are tanks deployed with EMP-proofing deployed. ->If a cyberattack attacks Aruba, then it is easy to thwart; all wireless signals are controlled via a central hub; if a attack occurs, then the plug is pulled literaly; although this will not stop spy's and satilites, it will stop them from accessing central hubs.
