Operation: Control

The plan was simple the armed forces of the Helzan would be split into three divisions and to avoid confusion these divisions would be named alpha, bravo and charlie ith each division having 33000 soldiers under its command. Alpha's mission was to head to the West and occupy the unclaimed land next to it and to guard against possible attack by the Testerian Empire whilst Bravo was to head south and occupy the land there as well as to watch for any sign of attack by the Republic of Dranagg. Charlie divison was being held in reserve incase any of the other two divisions encountered any problems. However, none were expected. The operation start time was 20:00 to help give the divisions the benefit of night.

20:00

As soon as it hit 20:00 the sound of mutliple engines roared into being as the divisions began their missions. First went Alpha who carefully started off and slowly began to spread out so that they could occupy the land quickly and to avoid any collisions. They encountered no problems as they sped out across the wastes of Antartica and they soon had the majority of their assigned area under control and were now slowing down as they cautiousally advanced to the border of the Helzan's western most neighbour.

Bravo moved off about three minutes after Alpha and just like them they began to spread out to help avoid any damage and to more quickly occupy the terrain before them. again no problems were encountered except for one vehicle that got stuck in some heavy snow but a recovery vehicle would be easily able to recover it. Again like Alpha they slowed down as they approcahed the Republic's border.

One hour later at 21:00 the expected area of occupation was under the control of the Helzan and Charlie Division was moved forwards incase Alpha or Bravo required assistance.

OOC: It's actually Terrestrian Empire

IC:

Official Message:

Good luck in your conquests, we will not try to stop you. Just make sure that the conflict does not spill over into our lands.

OOC: Ah sorry as you can see the name was half cut off and I had to guess.

IC: Thank you for the support as no one actually lives in the area we have encountered very few problems and the only hostiles we encountered were a pack of angry penguins who were soon subdued and led away to be released away from our forces.

Dranagg is curious about this expansion. Why south? There are tens of millions of square kilometers to the east. Or why military units were involved it in.

OOC: You crossed well over 500km in an hour and occupied several million KM??? :v:

In Antarctica????....

"The desperation of some expansionist nations is astonishing... not even Antarctica is safe from the hunger of Imperialism.

Those soldiers must really be enjoying sub-zero temperatures. I wonder how many of them have already frozen to death."

Dranagg would rather not ponder the question of what the soldiers are experiencing, but we can guess.

That exposed area turns into nothing but barren flat ice flows to the East heading to the Ice Shelf, and Ice Shelf itself to the West which turns into a tangled mass of deadly snow hidden Crevasses.

It must be something important there to warrent moving from the relatively warmer coast deeper into the cold of the continent at such an inhospitable place. There are valuable minable minerals in Antarctica, perhaps its gold?

Experts* project that considerable losses will be dealt to the expeditionary force after the initial "we're conquering stuff" euphoria wears off. Then they will realize nearly a hundred thousand men and the vehicles to transport them are standing on a patch of barren, inhospitable wasteland.

Their fuel will freeze, their equipment will malfunction without proper maintenance, their food supplies will run out; being unable to forage from the barren landscape or take from natives, they will starve. Ships will be hard-pressed to keep supplying so many people through such thick ice, rescue crews will be overburdened due to the amount of soldiers succumbing to frostbite, many millions of dollars will be wasted, and the army will be stopped in its tracks.

When that happens, we will be happy to resupply you at outrageously inflated prices.

OOC: Hmm I forgot that the map was smaller than it really looks. Instead of it occuring within the hour it happened over a number of days instead.

IC: "Thank you for the concern about our soldiers and equipment it is appreciated by us however, you have nothing to fear as our soldiers have the equipment they need to survive and have good knowledge on how to survive out in the elements".
