A New Nation

"Mein Land."

And then the bullet fired went through the old Leader's head. Outside only chaos could be heard, this had been revolution, a fast one indeed. The New Leader put his gun away and gripped the corpse of the Old One by the neck, walking over to the nearby balcony and tossing it over to the angry populace. News were spread: The President Was Dead.

As the Black Army seized control of the territory and dismantled the last remainders of Officialist Resistance, the people were thrilled. The First Announcement was made, and the Revolutionary Flag was raised above the Parliament.

"People of Scandinavia. People of Former Racoonia. The President is Dead. The Black Army of Peasants and Workers has emerged victorious in the struggle against the Military Forces of Democratic Oppression. Our Revolution is a success and the remainder of the State Bureaucratics and Military have capitulated or fled in disarray. Here begins a new story. A Land by the People, for the People. A Land crafted by Soldiers, for Soldiers. We have fought valiantly and the bloodshed was worth it. Let us head for the future."

And it was just in time. Any further "revolution" would have caused damage too hard to repair. He retired back to the Bunker, removing some of the old flags and tossing them aside, destined to have them burnt later.

Things would be much different from now onwards. National Reorganization would take a while. With such an overwhelming popular support, it should be easy enough.

Later, proper data was released:

Official Name: Aesirreich Nordheim (Nordheim)

Main Ruler: Aesir Dierik Týrsson Landers (Týr)

Capital: Asgård (Asgaard)

Language: Nordlandisk (Nordlandic)

Government Type: Moderate Übersteinianist

Spirituality: Atheists (Majority), Germanic Pagans

More to come in a factbook

"Instead of weapons, we bring tools of science. We wish to build a W.A.K.E. station, a place for further scientific and spacial research and development - perhaps a Nordheimic station will be the pillar of such further research, yes?"

*PRIVATE*

In a concealed bunker below Stockholm, a voice said in Nordlandic, "So the Aesir come back to lead a nation. Send a message to the leader saying that we wish him well."

"Now," the man said, "let us hope we do better than Oppøre or Betrakte, the traitor he was."

"Which effect would you say that would have on our Nation?"

"From what I've heard about Nordheim, you value education. It would be a chance for younger citizens to learn a variety of languages, and a W.A.K.E. station is a very large place, generating a good amount of income for Nordheim (after all, we'd be building in your country) and a good amount of jobs. Not to mention it gets your government a reserve seat in the W.A.K.E. Equatorial Star headquarters."

We have some questions about your nation.

How do you feel about other more multicultural societies?

What is your general foreign policy regarding expansion?

But we are similar in many respects.

We are pleased that your nation values education as do we.

We also have a strong military tradition.

We also have a meritocracy although ours is an open meritocracy where any citizen can aspire to being in the government provided they possess the necessary superior skills to pass the difficult government leadership service exams.

But the only main differences between us that I can see are:

We do not have a slave class since these are the potential seeds of a rebellion.

We are strongly multicultural

We do not believe in right of blood as a measure of leadership potential, we only look at skill at leadership.

But these are minor differences and perfectly within your rights as a sovereign to have.

We see the similarities as being more important, perhaps you might like to visit us at some time and see our nation for yourself.

Republic of Dranagg BZ-RK commanders have made known their interest in a possible military exchange program with your armd forces. One company of BZ-RK, 60 men, to be sent to your nation, in exchange for 1 company from your armed forces, at your discretion, so that a possible expanded training and military understanding of new areas of operations can be reached to the benefit of both nations.

"We believe that this WAKE station may be in our best interest, therefore we will welcome its construction and will provide Special Permits for the personnel in order to be able to roam areas for Nordheimers freely. We thank you for this opportunity."

The Azerbaijani Republic fears this government will somehow emulate Nordland, tought we recognize it.

"Please do remember that taking state policies out of fear would be a bad idea, as shown by history. Thank you."

The majority of the people are simply indifferent towards most other societies, they only care about their Folk, their Family, and their land. This goes hand in hand with the next point...

What is your general foreign policy regarding expansion?

Because we are mostly indifferent, we are also very conservative and careful when it comes to expansion of any kind, expansion is discouraged as it sacrifices efficiency both militarily, economically, and socially. More land does not necessarily make happier people in a better nation, and we typically prefer not to interfere with foreign business unless these business may interfere with us.

That is practically the same as here, the world will be able to see that both of our societies will show stability because of this.

But the only main differences between us that I can see are:

We do not have a slave class since these are the potential seeds of a rebellion.

We are strongly multicultural

You are mistaken. You do have a slave class. At least most people do. They are called Prison Inmates. Instead of putting our people in prisons where they do nothing, we have them serve, and in most cases, much like a Prison stay, slavery is reversible with merit and time. We take a more pragmatic approach and prefer to have Thralls that Work rather than Prisoners that Infight, plus it helps rehabilitation. Of course, some people choose to live their lives as a Thrall of an Aesir rather than a common Nordheimer. Many become Thralls willingly. Either way they're a minority.

But these are minor differences and perfectly within your rights as a sovereign to have.

We see the similarities as being more important, perhaps you might like to visit us at some time and see our nation for yourself.

As soon as we finish stabilizing the situation we would love to send someone.

That would be an interesting idea to explore in the near future. Only allow us some weeks to get everything running more smoothly and then we will send one of our units. 60 men, very well, we'll send 10 Thralls, 20 Einherjar and 30 Nordheimers, as they represent the common composition of our army at large proportionally.
