Sarah took the handkerchief from Leclerc's hand and smiled back letting one single droplet fall from her eyes to the floor. "Thank you very much Your Excellency and if you agree with the proposals that I have put in place and have no other questions then the hotel would sound very nice right now. I passed the Nakheel and Center Towers on my way to your residence and they are beautiful structures and I am proud to be able to call myself an ally of such a man that invests so much into the cultural expansion of his nation." Rising to her feet Sarah took Leclerc's hand in her's once again. "When we finally get around to finalizing this pact on paper Chairman Leclerc I hope that you can personally come to Brisbane as my personal honored guest. Perhaps dinner with my husband and I on the coast for celebration in the creation of such peace."

"Don't call me 'Excellency', please."

Once again, he drank some water, then turned to the right, to look towards - or out of - the window in that direction.

"I am but a man who was voted into office by his people. I am not a king, nor am I a holy man. I merely am somewhat smarter and a bit more charismatic than the average person, but other than that, not special in any way."

A hint of a smile made its way onto his face, and he turned back to Sarah.

"Now, while I'm looking forward to signing the treaty, you take your time, enjoy the scenery here in Ferinh and relax. Oh, and I'd be delighted to dine with you and your husband." He smiled widely, sincerely.

"Ms. Tintagyl, you're a great woman, and I feel you may have an even greater fate if you play the cards right."

"Tomas was right about you and your country Chairman, it has been a pleasant experience indeed and while my companions and I will have to move on to other countries we have planned to talk about the pact. I hope to see as much as Ferinh as I can, the night is still young after all." Putting on her gloves and coat Sarah bowed at Leclerc once more before exiting the Chairman's office with her entourage. Walking down back to the limo, the Hanseatics along with Colonel Raglan filed in as Sarah turned to the driver in the front seat. "Sir, if you would please, what sights could do a young girl good here in the capital?"

Before Sarah and her entourage left, the Chairman said goodbye to them.

In the car, the driver turned to Sarah. "Well...There's of course the Nakheel Tower and the Center tower, both of which you've seen from the ground already. The great monument maybe, made in memory of those who built this country and turned it into what it is now. There's also the great temple, built to honour all religions that exist, well, aside from those who didn't realy do anything good, like satanism maybe. There's several other big company-buildings that look impressive, a big park and of course the SkyCity. You could also try visiting the spaceport in the east, though it's a long drive and you're better off flying there with a plane or helicopter.

Other than that...I dunno, I can't think of more at the moment, Miss."

"Well I think we have a little time to see the sights still. I haven't heard any pressing news from Brisbane so far, but if we get anything I will have to cancel the tour." She laughed. "But please sir, I haven't heard a great deal about the main inter workings of the Sky City, it would be a most exciting visit."

"The SkyCity it is, then? 'Kay.

Just note that it's a special administrative region, essentially governing itself, Miss Tintagyl. You'll also see most of Saboria's population with asian descent there, I think."

With that, the driver began heading towards the SkyCity, which was connected to Ferinh by a ten kilometer long bridge over the Manicouagan lake.

OOC: If I mess up on anything in describing this post, just let me know and I'll edit it ^_^ ...Lynneth, I always find myself touring your country in someway. :P

SkyCity.jpg

As the limousine pulled onto the bridge the stars in the sky quickly began to fade from the immense light that seemed to be pulsating over the horizon. The two marines had fallen asleep in the back and Sarah had not heard a peep from Colonel Raglan since they had left Chairman Leclerc's office, however her eyes were glued to the window in wait at what lay of the horizon and when the Sky City finally broke over the wide expanse that was Lake Manicouagan her heart stopped for a moment.

"My God." She said in what was between a laugh and a smile. "Its magnificent." The buildings seemed to rise directly out of the water and the glow originating from the massive skyscrapers made it feel like day again, it was a truly majestic feeling when the light from the city coupled together with the darkened sky above and created a mixture of colors that some of the great painters in history dared not to imitate, it a God combined with the grace of machinery that did such a thing. As the limousine exited off the bridge they entered what appeared to be the first ring of the Sky City, buildings dwarfed them on every side as the Saborian population, which as the driver had said was predominately Asian, crowded the streets and sidewalks around them. Restaurants bustled with patrons and the culture exploded into the young Sarah's heart. The thought of turning off her cell phone and forgetting about why she had come north to begin with tempted her with every block of the city she passed. Clothing boutiques, opened to sidewalk cafes and she desperately wanted to join the hustle and bustle of the city of the sky.

With her head out of the open window she turned to the driver. "Its magnificent, how long did this take to build? And where is a good place to stop and get out for a bit?"

OOC: You actually did a pretty good job, though I have no idea how Sumeragi would have the city appear. It's her official country, or city-state, after all.

But imo, you did pretty well. =3

Also "the city of the sky", nice. ^^

IC:

"I thought the same when I first saw the SkyCity in "action". Very impressive, and even now I have to be careful to not look at the skyscrapers instead of the street."

The driver chuckled, talking somewhat more silent, as the marines were apparently asleep.

"It took a total of ten years (OOC: Or 3 RL months) and hundreds of thousands of workers to build this beauty, Miss Tintagyl. Almost a million people live here, and 700,000 people have workplaces. It's a hub of activity."

When the limousine had come to stop at a red light Sarah could feel her hands going towards the handle of the door, she wanted to get out and experience the city for herself, but as she was doing so the phone in her pocket lit up on the little blue screen, she sighed looking down. "Brisbane. Damn it." The actual call could wait until she was back in the hotel, but it was already late, nearly one in the morning and she was getting quite tired. Turning to the driver she yawned. "I feel bad to cut this tour short sir but I think that its about time that my companions and I need to return to Ferinh now. Most likely we'll be leaving the country tomorrow so I want to have a good night's sleep before we head to our next destination."

As the limousine traveled back across the bridge away from Sky City, Sarah looked back as the great illumination began to fade back into the darkened sky and slowly the stars began to appear once again in the Saborian air.

Before the limousine had turned back towards Ferinh, the driver had said "No problem, milady. I'll get you back asap."

Halfway over the bridge, he slowed down somewhat, to let Sarah look at the sky and the stars. With some luck, they could see the Aurora Borealis.

OOC: In the lower left, you see lake Manicouagan. So you could see the Aurora from Ferinh, I think.

"Beautiful." She said still pressing her head against the window of the limousine as they crossed the lake heading back to the capital. "Truly breathtaking." By the time they had arrived at the Nakheel tower in Ferinh and had checked into their rooms, Sarah was thoroughly worn out, but as she collapsed on the hotel bed, which when she plopped down felt softer than being on a cloud she had barely enough time to check her phone before her eyes began to close. The phone was overflowing with messages, mainly from the Foreign Ministry and at listening to the voice mail she realized that touring the rest of Saboria would have to wait for another time in the future.

Weeks prior to Sarah's tour she had met with a Mr. Anthony Harlem from Promised Land who had offered her to be received by the mysterious man who was the Head of State of Promised Land. According to what Sarah had heard, few people had ever seen the man and considering she was eventually to be counted among the few she was extremely anxious for the meeting, but before the nerves could get to her she fell fast asleep still in her skirt and suit that she had met Chairman Leclerc in.

The next day Sarah and her entourage woke up decently early in hopes of arriving in Promised Land by the next day. Unfortunately leading to another twenty-four hour flight. Checking out of the Nakheel Tower the limousine driver drove the Hanseatic contingent to Ferinh Airport and from their they boarded a plane that would take them to Perth (OOC: Subtle I'll edit if that's not your capital). And as Sarah feared, twenty-four hours later the plane began to descend. She felt like a wreak, she was tired, but she had high hopes that the anxiousness of meeting the head of state would help her through this. She and her entourage disembarked from the plane and walked out into the airport much like they had done in Ferinh and patiently awaited a Promised Land escort.

OOC: No, my capital isn't Perth, but it'll work. On the map, my ingame capital would be in Queensland, which I don't control here...

IC: They would be greeted by a n escort of no less than six armed guards in addition to the diplomat, as the safety of foreign heads of state was taken seriously. Three different limosines were there, and the diplomat, a short but stocky oriental-looking man, gestured for her to join him in the middle one.

She and those with her would be taken through the central business district to the skyscraper knnown as Central Park.

It might not have been as tall as the buildings in Saboria, or as awe-inspiring, but it did possess its own magnificence as the tallest building in the city.

Central_Park.jpg

OOC: No, you New Yorkers, not the Park, a building... :P And Sarah, please ignore the Bank of Queensland sign on the neighboring building...as I don't own Queensland, that sign does not exist for this RP... ;)

The city of Perth was indeed beautiful and had a striking resemblance to how she had familiarized herself with Brisbane the same warm with blew through the city, but this time it was a strong Indian wind instead of the calm Pacific wind on the eastern coat. It was a decently cloudy day and so the city was absent of the sun's rays, if only for a moment, she wondered if it might eventually rain, but the weather patterns in Australia always threw her off. Winding up her window she turned to the diplomat seated next to her. "I've never been to Promised Land sir, nor have I ever spoken with your head of state. Is there anything I should know before the meeting occurs, for I must tell you I am a bit nervous to be meeting someone so secretive and mysterious as your leader."

The man answed without a moment's hesitation. "You should know that even though he's meeting you face-to-face, you won't be seeing his. His face and head will be covered. To the best of everyone's knowledge, he never reveals his true identity to anyone, though it is rumored that he has done so on very, VERY rare occasions."

Sarah sat back and thought for a moment. 'What an odd man then. Dare not show his face to the world?' She went through the questions she wanted to propose to him in her head. How to bring the Australasian Coalition closer together? What were their goals on the world stage? How could she help? And of course any advancement for her drives for a humanistic world she would surely bring up, but the thought of a man behind the mask was intriguing, if not in some gothic way, romantic. A regular Phantom of the Opera. She chuckled to herself as the limousine blazed through the streets of Perth as she awaited to finally lay eyes on the mask of the mysterious leader of Promised Land.

The diplomat noted her amusement, but did not comment as they arrived at the building in question. They were escorted inside, where they rode an elevator to the 15th floor. There was some business traffic, enough that their delegation wouldn't seem out of place as it moved the whole ten yards down the hall in front of the elevator doors.

The door in front of them was opened by a female aide, who smiled at them before leaving to do...whatever she'd been told to do.

Subtleknifewielder sat with his back to the door, but it didn't stop him from greeting the Prime Minister as she walked in. "Welcome to Promised Land, Prime Minister," he said, swiveling on the chair to face her. His face was indeed masked with a black bolt of fabric, and the eyes covered by sunglasses. On his head sat a black bowler hat.

He gestured to the chair on the other side of his desk. "Please, sit."

OOC: No, the aide isn't doing anything important...he just told her to take some time off during the meeting.

"Thank you Your Excellency." Sarah said walking into the room. "I appreciate you taking the time for this audience, it means a great deal to me, to be able to have allies that are so readily available for conferencing." Looking at the black fabric and the sunglasses the questions escaped her head for a moment as the curiosity inside her young mind built up. Sarah blushed as she opened her mouth. "Forgive me for asking this Your Excellency, but why so mysterious? Why must you hide your face?"

He did not laugh or grow angry at her questions, simply answered them. If the Prime Minister listened carefully, she might notice the voice sounded familiar. She wouldn't know it, but it was Anthony Harlem himself under that mask, and though precautions had been made to alter his voice, it would still have some of the same basic tones.

"Because I prefer to keep my life as head of state seperate from my civilian life. I believe something I said before the establishment of your nation even in Europe says it best. To paraphrase... 'A visible leader is a visible target. Anonymity is a leader's best defense.'"

"Extremely wise." She said looking down at her legs and the bullet wound scar that she still carried with her from Hok's coup d'etat. "I wish I would have learned your lesson from the beginning and with a country your size I can only imagine the pressures that leadership must carry." Looking back into the glasses Sarah smiled. "Your Excellency if I could just send a few proposals your way I can be out of your hair." She paused digging through a folder of papers she kept with her. "The Hansa is extremely new to the Australasian Coalition and I would be extremely appreciative to take any of your advice as to how to better integrate ourselves into your community. I find it to be extremely important. Also, and you might have received a letter that was send explaining about the creation of a World Aid Program. With wars seeming to be fought around every corner in history I was hoping that we could work together to try and solve the human crisis that is plaguing the world today."

As she said the words, his voice flashed in her head. It sounded extremely familiar, as if she had heard it before, but at the moment she kept her mind from wondering and listened to his responses. If the thoughts came up again maybe then she would expand on them further.

He leaned back in his chair, the tips of his fingers touching in a way that rather made them look rather like the roof of a tent. "Advice? I don't have much, really, other than to say that you should avoid signing too many binding treaties, especially outside our region. Any leader with a speck of common sense will realize that could only lead to treaty lock. But that really doesn't have anything to do with integration."

He paused only amoment before answering her second inquiry. "No, I'm afraid I didn't get the letter. If you sent it, someone forgot to deliver it. Do you have a copy with you?"

"I do in fact." She said pulling stationary out of her folder.

Dear Leaders of the World,

In the recent months we have seen war rear its ugly head on all corners of the planet and this war was not just limited to the soldiers, no, many innocent civilians died because of our inability to fight our hatreds out on the battlefield. This has cost the populations of the world, million of millions of lives, generations of men, women, and children that will never be replace. However, though we have a significant lost of people there is still time to learn from our mistakes. There are refugees that require homes and there are men and women that still suffer in war zones. Recently, the Hanseatic Republic has passed the Humanitarianism Act that has allocated 10% of our budget to give aid to countries of the world who's populations are hurting. Unfortunately, my country is not enough to rid the world of suffering and I require the help of the world. In this letter I have enclosed a document entitled, the Treaty of the White Cross, this treaty will found an organization of doctors, nurses, and other humanitarian workers to aid and repair areas severely affected by war. Please I ask you to read it over and sign, together maybe we can all alleviate the suffering of our brothers and sisters that are in so much pain.

Sincerely,

Sarah Tintagyl-Solidor

Prime Minister of the Hanseatic Republic

After he had finished reading it, Sarah looked at him with hopeful eyes. "What do you think?"

After handing His Excellency the treaty papers and her own personal letter Sarah sat back and listened to his voice much more closely. Her mind had indeed wandered and as he had begun to wrap up the treaty she smiled back at him. "Forgive me for asking this of Your Excellency, but is Mr. Anthony Harlem around, he was the one that procured this audience to take place and in addition attended my wedding. I don't believe I even thanked him for it, after we are done here with business I would very much like to speak with him again. If that would be okay with you of course." She looked at the treaty in his hands. "Also, what do you think of the White Cross Proposition?"

"I believe it a worthy organization. Expect to receive the appropriate signatures shortly."

He looked her straight in the eye as he spoke his next words, or at least it would look like that, as she could not actually see his eyes. "I would have no problem with you seeing Mr. Harlem, but he is busy right now." He leaned forward over his desk once more, casually resting his arms on the surface. "However, in case he couldn't be here for the meeting, he did want me to tell you that he was glad he met you, that he enjoyed himself at the wedding. To be honest, Prime Minister, I think he was a little taken with you."
