kencojenko
They seem to be being cancelled, well, for the fun of it. I know a lot of people take the opinion of "it's only TE" but I still maintain the belief that treaties are the face of an alliance. They determine your friends, your real strength and who you are as an alliance. Your ability to uphold them denotes your trustworthiness as an alliance and displays where your priorities lie. If you fail to uphold a treaty, it generally comes around and bites you in the $@!. The NVO marched to our demise to uphold a treaty with an alliance that we had come very close to being at war with only a few weeks prior. I declared our war of support because of my belief on the value of treaties. I will always be this way. I think others should take this into consideration. TE or not, you actions towards treaties affects others. I hope those that are cancelling treaties so loosely do not feel the repercussions of their decision when the next round begins. tl;dr - The NVO will never take treaties lightly and how you treat them will affect our opinion of you. TE or not. Jenko - High Chancellor of the New Viridian Order Edited February 19, 2009 by kencojenko
dran129
Maybe we can treaty up with you guys next round. We have almost all our allies in our current war "King of the Hill". We also have protected our allies when they have been attacked and are yet to drop a treaty during a round of TE. Maybe we can meet up next round. Arcturus Jefferson
So what you are saying is you can't have fun in the war half of CN. I hope those that are cancelling treaties so loosely do not feel the repercussions of their decision when the next round begins. Who cares if we do? Just means more killing fun. popsumpot
As the relationship between some alliances in this game proves, treaties hardly mean anything when compared to the friendship and camaraderie already formed.
Commander Benji
What happens in this round stays in this round so therefor it shouldn't matter how many treaties one cancels, unless your saying you shall be carrying things over into the next round. If you want to cancel a treaty, whoop de do. It's TE, all the more reason to fight.
kencojenko
So what you are saying is you can't have fun in the war half of CN.Who cares if we do? Just means more killing fun. I'm not saying you can't have war. I just think that if you sign a treaty, you should keep it. If you want to go off and kill people, do it whilst maintaining your treaties. As the relationship between some alliances in this game proves, treaties hardly mean anything when compared to the friendship and camaraderie already formed. Treaties are meant to be a symbol of that friendship. Why sign a treaty if you're never going to honor or use it? What happens in this round stays in this round so therefor it shouldn't matter how many treaties one cancels, unless your saying you shall be carrying things over into the next round. If you want to cancel a treaty, whoop de do. It's TE, all the more reason to fight. I'm just asying that peoples opinion of an alliance or their leaders will carry over to the next round. People wont magically change who they are just because it's reset. And by no means am i saying you can't cancel a treaty. I just think you should have a greater reason then "for the lulz". Vulkan
Thats nice. I'm fairly sure the main point of CN:TE is to let bygones be bygones, grudges and general !@#$%bagery are ment to be forgotten. Otherwise we would end up in a pool of stagnation like regular CN. (P.S. Most alliances uphold their treaties throughout the round, but seemings though it's the end, why not cancel?) kencojenko
i by no means want TE to be like SE. I simply think that treaties should be upheld. If you want to go to war for no reason at all, don't just cancel on your treaty partners, talk to them and get them involved.

kencojenko
Hey, i'm just trying to get across my opinion. If you aren't going to use or honor the treaty, why the hell would you sign it? But w/e.
Kaiser Indie
Because it seemed like a fun thing to do at the time and I was a bit drunk. Also, I value our relationship with other alliances in TE over any type of treaty, so I don't give a damn if it's cancelled and neither should you. Burning Glory
I agree with Jenko as far as the signing of the treaties goes. I also feel that most people in this game sign treaties because of their friendship to that particular AA. And while there are some AA's that just sign treaties to avoid conflict or stay unscathed for the better part of the round only to come out to wards the end and form a collation, treaties do help and are meant to be a good thing. I understand why peeps dropped their treaties when they did and went to war, but its apparent that most or some peeps don't understand. All i can say is next round treaties will probably be handled differently and signed cautiously. As far as next round it is humanly impossible for all people to forget the wrong that was done in this round, i wish it wasn't so....But it is the case. I will not hold any grudges for this round but i will handle things differently next round. The AA of NVO is a fine honorable alliance, i am proud to have them as allies and honored to call them friends. Thank you NVO for your support, friendship and keeping your treaty agreement!! For the record TPF and I have always like Viridia and NEO since our friendship in round 2, we would never war with either of you, especially since you have merged to become a better alliance and remained true friends!! I see where your coming from, but in my opinon, as far as TE is concerned "for the lulz" or "cos ur ugly" is a perfectly good reason to cancel a treaty. But hey, opinions are just that. Chur.
