CYBERNATIONS NETWORK NEWS [PRETORIA]: Foreign Minister Peter Stellenbosch of Transvaal dropped a surprise bombshell this afternoon during the meeting of the National Assembly when he stated that the Federal Government is in the midst of negotiations for the independence of its northern territories comprising of Northern Rhodesia (Zambia), Nyasaland (Malawi) and Northern Mozambique. “We are in high-level discussions with two local government authorities which have been established in the wake of the recent civil unrest. While in fact you did lead an in-game "anti-apartheid" crusade against Transvaal two years ago, the fact of the matter is that Transvaal has never practised apartheid. We do not deny that our nation is governed by Afrikaner supremacy and that at the time we were a member of the Nordreich, however we have always veiwed ourselves first and foremost an Afrikaner homeland as we ourselves broke off the old in-game South Africa nation of Nelson Mandela. But that never required the supression of blacks rights - execpt for the racial requirement for prime minister. But that requirement also excludes whites as well (Anglo-Transvalers). </official party line> OOC: Ahh... reminiscing about the old days... I knew that we were fighting for native home rule from the beginning, but we may or may not have exaggerated the whole apartheid thing. CYBERNATIONS NETWORK NEWS [PRETORIA]: According to anonymous inside sources in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the northern portion of Mozambique will become the first independent state to break off from the Federal Republic since Cherokee Namibia last spring. The identity of the new ruler and nation is being kept secret but according to sources the Federal Republic will retain that portion of Mozambique south of the Save River - including the major port city of Maputo - while the northern section will be granted independence. The timetable for independence will be coordinated with the second local authority which is also in negotiations so that both states will become independent at the same time. One ramification with the loss of Northern Mozambique will be the closing of three controversal labour camps located in Beira, Quelimane, and Nacala. The camps came under investigation last June when a massive international outcry regarding forced labour use of political prisoners resulted in an investigation carried out by Tahoe and Arctica which cleared Pretoria of any wrong doing in its camp system. Minister of Interior Gert Boersma, who is responsible for running Transvaal labour camp system, has said the three displaced camps will likely be relocated in Rhodesia or Namibia. Prime Minister Jakob Hertzog has stated that Pretoria will respect the integrity of its new neighbours and not force any particular government system or ideology on them, rather instead working with whatever the local people set up on their own. Under the proposed independence agreements, Nyasaland (Malawi) would be granted to the nation of Association while Northern Mozambique (north of the Save River) would be granted to the nation of Awesome World Island. “We are waiting for them to relocate their capitals within their new territories so the Federal Government of Transvaal can verefy and confirm their claims through the proper channels with the World Map Authorities. OOC: Yeah I suppose so - I'm not sure where I am anymore. I just put my feet in all the puddles. The United States of China hereby supports native independence for these territories. European Colonialism in Africa must be pushed back. Transvaal's Foreign Ministry wishes to make clear that in the independence agreement, there is a grandfather clause that if the nation in question disappears or loses the territory, then it reverts back to Transvaal (same kind of agreement we had with Cherokee Naimbia last spring). So don't anyone get their hopes up for easy pickings in Africa. That all said, but the Transvaal Government has not heard from either nation for a few days now - for all we know independence could now be stillborn. In your case you want Fantasy roleplay (which is where people go to roleplay interactions between nations and whatever). Game related RP is mostly for people who just bought a nuke and wants to announce it to the world type thing. I shall now move this to the correct forum. Botha Posted February 24, 2009 Author Report Share Posted February 24, 2009 ONAFHANKLIKVERKLARING PROCLAMATION OF INDEPENDENCE By agreement between the Federal Republic of Transvaal and the Provisional Authorities located in Northern Mozambique, Zambia, and Malawi: 1) the Federal Republic of Transvaal hereby recognizes the independence of these territorial authorities from the Federal Republic effective one minute after update February 25/26, 2009. 2) the Federal Republic of Transvaal is hereby granted a grandfathered overlapping territorial clause (also known as the Lübeck Clause). Should said independent territories leave RP, lose or relinquish their assigned territories, nation deletion, or leave the game, Transvaal immediately regains said territories. 3) the Provisional Authorities located in Northern Mozambique, Zambia, and Malawi are permitted to join the Pan-African Coalition on the provision that the PAC holds no territorial claims over territories covered by Transvaal’s territorial clause (see 2). 4) the Federal Republic of Transvaal promises not to interfere in the internal social-political forces within the independent states seceding from the Federal Republic. The Independent States likewise promise not to interfere in the internal social-politics of the Federal Republic. 5) The independent state are assumed to have the political and military protection of Transvaal at the Federal Republic’s discretion. 6) Should the Independent States relocate their in-game capitals outside of their territory, their agreement with Transvaal is null and void and said territory reverts back to the Federal Republic. The states have one week to comply with capital relocation to their African territory. 7) Labour camps managed by Transvaal located in independent Mozambican territory will be dismantled and relocated to Federal Republican territory within one week.
