Arkantos
ooc Then I believe the list price would be 1.23. Maybe I got the wording wacked... Granted I don't know a whole lot about the policy, but it's unique. OOC: No, List price would still be $1. Tax is added when you actually buy it and pay for it at the register. Yort92
**Classified** After a few days in Bermuda, Captain Watson and Colonel Johnson return home for further orders. http://forums.cybernations.net/index.php?showtopic=53800 Captain Watson's Report to President Magnimer: (Working on it) Objective: Report on Fascist Carthage's border protection as a suggestion for our own Report: 1. The border defenses are large and efficient. Carthage also has some of the most complex monitoring stations along it's borders. 2. State censuses boast some of the most accurate reports in the world. 3. No civilian can bear arms. The idea of a public armory during times of war was considered and declined as a viable means of State security. However, the public armory idea does have certain flaws as people who support the invaders would access them. The military only can bear arms. 4. Mass border guard is infeasible. Defenses are being set up that can be operated by inland patrol or a small number of soldiers. 5. Border defenses will also be used for war. 6. A variety of long and short range artillery pieces are on the coast to buy the government time and ward of the enemy in times of invasion. Comments: Mr. President, it was an honor to serve you in Carthage. I hope you will use the information received from the mission to help our country defend itself and bring us ever closer to perfection. Yort92
Construction begins on both Defense Lines today. **Plans not released to public** **Plans are submitted to members of the BTP (particularly Ardoria and the Atlantian Federation)** **It will become public as projects are finished** MISSISSIPPI: This maintains the main focus of the Defense Line Project as the Wild West areas are of concern. 1. Border surveillance centers that will check entrances to the country are being constructed on the Tennessee side of all bridges that cross the Mississippi River. Currently they will be manned by a few men depending on size of the bridge. Note, that surveillance will take place at other major entries as well. This includes highways, rails, and waterways. Technology is to be developed to electronically streamline the process. 2. Remote control centers that will effectively coordinate all border security efforts are being constructed a few miles from the river. Currently 7 regionalized Mississippi border stations are under construction at even intervals. They shall be numbered from South to North starting with 1M near Memphis, TN. "M" designates the Mississippi Line. 2M is near Dyersburg, TN. 3M is near Paducah, KY (NOTE: Paducah's will be slightly larger do to the intersection of the Ohio with the Mississippi). 4M is near Belleville, IL (Tennessee side across from St. Louis). 5M is near Quincy, IL. 6M is near Carthage, Illinois. 7M is near Geneseo, Illinois (near Davenport). Addendum: In light of the recent Wisconsin expansion, four more regional centers are to be built in the area. They are all part of the Mississippi Defense Line. 8M is in Boscobel, WI. 9M is in Waukesha outside of Milwaukee. 10M is to be built in De Pere outside of Green Bay. 11M is in Osseo, WI which is south of Eau Claire. Addendum: With the expansion into North Wisconsin, another center is to be built in Rhinelander, WI (12M). Another is to be built new Superior, Wisconsin (13M). The line is to expand on the new borders. 3. Sites where defensive artillery pieces and structures are going to be are being cleared out. These shall also be coordinated with the remote centers. APPALACHIA: (Incomplete) This is just as important as the Mississippi Line, however, it will most likely be completed after the Mississippi Line because the borders with Ardoria and the Atlantian Federation are secure. 1a. Since there are multiple entries into the nation from this point, only major road, rail, and waterways will have checkpoints. As stated in 1m, technology is to be developed to make this process easier. 2. As with the Mississippi Line, multiple regional remote centers are to be built designated . Currently, 7 are to be built. They shall be numbered from South to North starting with 1A near Chattanooga, TN. A designates "Appalachia Line". 2A is outside of Dandrige, TN. 3A is near Johnson City, TN (NOTE: Also responsible for Southern border of 'Virginia' in the Atlantian Federation). 4A is outside of Combs, KY 5A is in Independence, KY (near Covington across from Cincinnati). 6A is to be built near Richmond, IN. 7A is near Goshen, IN (NOTE: Responsible for Great Lake States' (Michigan) border). 3. As for the Mississippi Line, the sites are being cleared for defensive structures. These sites, however, will most likely be completed after the ones for the Mississippi Line as Appalachia is the second priority. Yort92
**CLASSIFIED** DEFENSE LINE PROJECT: Fortifications Defensive positions are being set up to protect Tennessee. All of these are 'controlled' by the regional controller that coordinates the border efforts. Most positions will have two artillery guns. Small concrete fortifications house the small number of troops needed for the guard. These forts also provide protection in times of invasion. A heavy machine gun will be able to be set up in the outlook of the forts. Larger forts are near the major highways and entrance waterways. They typically have 4 artillery guns and 2 SAM launchers. These larger bases also typically have 2 tanks stationed at them. SAMs are spread across the border evenly and in prime locations (IE, on top of mountains in Appalachia) for the air security of Tennessee. All are of course to be used in defense.
