Allow me to introduce myself, I'm VI, one of the Triumvirs and founders of FACE. What is FACE? Federated Allies for Cultural Exchange. As it is Black History Month, and we're a black alliance, it seemed an opportune time to have one of these dreaded press conferences. Mostly we're doing this because of the following exchange, which is repeated far too often: Me: Hey, Member, did you go talk to X? Member: Yeah. Me: What'd they say? Member: What the hell is FACE? Yes, we do very few announcements, as we're pretty much a low key type of an alliance. However, we figured since so few of you know about us (or maybe just don't care) we would offer the opportunity to Digiterra to ask us about our little alliance, currently decked out in the back waters of the black trade sphere. So without further ado, feel free to ask away about FACE and we'll endeavor to answer your questions fully and coherently. Note to Mods: I anticipate quite a bit of OOC here (maybe I'm just an optimist), hence I started this thread here. If I am mistaken (and that is entirely possible as I'm adjusting to the new format) kindly move to the appropriate forum. I appreciate your courtesies. What is the FACE policy on owf presence and are FACE members free to post without censor? FACE, and myself, adhere to a strict OOC/IC policy. Members are free to voice their opinions on anything in OOC forums, as my view is they are they player behind the screen, and thus, not subject to my censure on anything. As to IC stuff, I also tend towards an open policy. IC wise, FACE is about the exchange of ideas and cultures, specifically IC, so there are going to be differences of opinion. To me, that is one of the strengths of FACE, the fact that we don't necessarily agree on some things IC. The members in FACE are there because they've shown themselves not to be 'yes men' but folks that are going to tell me what they really think. I value that input. I think that is because there wasn't much reason to post on here. Most of the topics announcing treaties etc don't seem to affect us. As far as I know, we have no policy or restrictions on OWF presence, but most of our members know not to create unnecessary attention. However, I know that many of us have posted frequently on OWF. (You do seem to be celebrating black history month ) I follow the proceedings on the Black Conclave with quite a bit of interest, even if I don't post there much. I have always taken a great interest in Black politics, and have met some great folks there (most notably TOP). My fellow Triumvir, Hormones74 tends more towards the foreign policy stuff. We never really discussed it, but just kind of fell into our roles, where I tend to be more of a hermit and concerned with FACE internal affairs and Hormones74 is the one who tends to know a lot more folks and alliances. I suspect the folks that do know FACE know of it because of Hormones. I also anticipate Hormones will be more active in the Black Conclave than me, not because I don't care, but because he's better at that sort of thing. I tend towards lurking more than anything else.
