Comandante Marcos has risen as the leader and face of the Zapatista movement calling for a Zapatista Union in southern Mexico. He requests a peaceful secession after a speech held today before a crowd of 34,000 supporters. He declared a campaign of central america to visit people of small villages and workers outside of the busy metropolises. One masked Zapatista speaking on the topic said, "These are the peoples whos ears cannot hear our rallying calls, so we must bring our voices to them, so they can see our faces, and understand our cause."
