Solution to the Kiristan Problem

President Tom Dobbs steps up to the podium for a news conference before the world. A large stand is next to him, covered in a black and green cloth, the colors of the Federation. The podium that he stands behind is draped in the Federation's flag.

"Citizens of the Federation, I come before you today with a monumental announcement. Months ago, when we unveiled our new Strategic Defense Initiative, aimed at promoting peace in our time, we realized that the barbarians to our west, Kiristan, was also covered by the radius of our peaceful weapon. Due to the actions of the Kiristani, we were forced to take action of our own, as we will not protect a government who suppresses the most basic rights of their own people."

President Dobbs stops for applause.

"Therefore, we have decided to reduce our own lands in order to make sure that the barbarians of Kiristan never fall under the protection of our great nation!" The cloth is whipped off the stand, which shows a new map of the Federation, missing the north-western parts of it. "Our citizens living in this land, which are not many, will be given every government assistance to move out. Those wishing to stay will do so at their own peril, for after one month, our protection on that land will expire, and then you will be living in a lawless territory, without the government to help with the upkeep of roads, or supplies. Any citizens who wish to leave can apply for a governmental grant, and move into a home that is of equal or lesser value to the one they are living in now free of charge."

"All military equipment from these areas will be relocated to airbases and army bases inside the new Federation boundaries. The bases and their technology, after being stripped of all critical and useful components, will be destroyed. No technology of ours will fall into enemy hands."

"This is a new day for the Federation. Due to the shrinking of our western borders, we are now able to extend our protection northward, to help cover our brothers in Rebel Virginia. A new age of peace and prosperity is dawning for the eastern coast of North America. Let us cherish it as one nation, and as one people!"

OOC: I'm reducing my lands to make it easier for everyone. The land will be a protectorate of mine until a NEW PLAYER comes along to use it. So, if you're established, meaning you already have a nation, don't bother asking.

We are a little confused. How does reducing the size of your territory in any way reduce the area the SDI will cover?

By reducing our lands, it allows us to reposition the satellites needed for the SDI so they will not cover Kiristan. With land to the east and north of Kiristan, this was impossible before. Now, with the repositioning, we not only are no longer protecting them, but we are able to protect our friends northward as well.

OOC: It works in my head, damnit. :awesome: Also, I wanted to find a way to reduce my lands, and this is it.

Ah, that makes sense. We wish you the best during this transition.

OOC: Indeed, that works quite well to reduce your claims. :D
