Lynneth Posted February 2, 2009 Report Share Posted February 2, 2009 OOC: Fun fact: Two AT-rockets at the weak point of a tank's turret usually are enough to lift the turret off the tank. IC: While the tank-round didn't outright destroy the APC, the vehicle was heavily damaged and a nother AT-rocket flew, this time finishing the USB tank. The Saborians simply kept firing. The machine guns - dubbed 'bonesaws' by their operators, because they fired so fast that it sounded a lot like a saw or ripping cloth - fired hundreds of rounds at the USB forces, mowing down whoever couldn't reach cover quickly enough. IC: After seeing the destroyed tank and about 3/4ths of the entire patrol killed, the soldiers simply drop their primary weapons, draw their pistols, and kill themselves. The civilians slowly crawl out of their hiding places and inspect the chaos. They begin to cheer for the Saborians for a job well done. "Ladies and Gentlemen, we're going to get you out of this country. The airport where we've landed, there's transport planes on the way. We'll help you there. And then it's getting the government that did this." Meanwhile, the AC-130 Spectre got the order to take off. The men inside manned the guns and prepared laying waste to the USB's forces. *Public message to the USB* "We have proof that your men opened fire on innocent civilians. We have proof that your men opened fire on our inspectors when they tried arresting your men. Either you surrender immediately and let yourself be trialed for crimes against humanity, or we will come and take you with force." *End of* Meanwhile, the transport planes landed. Almost 2,000 men and 15 tanks were on them and once they had left the planes, they immediately began establishing a bridgehead, ready to unleash their country's fury on the USB forces. We will send in our own air crafts, unarmed evacuation air crafts with video recording crew members to record what is happening and some soldiers to protect the recording crews. IC: The light artillery and gatling weaponry of the AC-130 destroyed several FlaK-cannons before they could even fire. The RPG rounds were entirely useless, not having the range to actually reach the plane. However, as the first FlaK-shells exploded nearby it, the plane flew out of range and then used its heavy artillery gun to annihilate and FlaK they could find. Meanwhile, the men within the small city lead the civilians towards the airport where the rest of the forces waited and prepared for assault. IC: To GLS: As stated to Saboria, any attempts to take our citizens out of the country will be faced with hostility. ________ The forces on the ground knew they couldn't win with their FlaK's, so they called for several MiGs to fly in and attempt to take it down. After receiving the call, 10 MiG-15s get into gear and began flying towards the men and the AC-130, prepared with all the ammo they could load on the plane. Near the city, a recon group watches and calls in for reinforcements. 5000 soldiers and 20 tanks begin heading towards the city. If Saboria still had men there, they were going to be crushed. It informed their comrades on the ground, who readied anti-air missles. Meanwhile, the civilians were well on their way to the airport. This in turn triggered the advance of the Saborian forces, with roughly 1800 men and all tanks advancing towards the city. Three howitzers that had been brought as tank-support began scanning the horizon for targets, while UAVs were deployed, their cameras looking for enemy troop concentrations and tanks. It wasn't until other soldiers were being blown up that they finally took notice. "Artillery crews! What the hell are you doing?!" The radio reply came back, "Um...we're not doing anything, over. We have not been given the OK to fire our batteries." The company leader swore and barked into the radio, "Then fire on mission TRP; 7-7-8! Over!" "Company sergeant, that is out of our range, over. If you want us to hit that, then we'll have to move, and that could slow your advance, over." The sarge swore again and told them to move to a mile outside the city, the infantry and tanks would continue their approach. The infantry did their best to avoid the onslaught of Saborian rounds, but the tanks were not as lucky. 6 of the 10 Elefant tanks approaching were destroyed, and 2 of the other 10 Panzer Mk. 9's were also destroyed. _____ The soldiers at the airfield had seen the Saborians advancing with the citizens and threatened to shoot anybody attempting to come in armed. Meanwhile, the Saborian forces that moves out of the Airport simply arrested all USB-forces at the Airport, enabling the civilians to safely get in. After this short episode, the Saborians would disperse and prepare to carefully assault the city, in case the USB forces had already arrived. After receiving the call, 10 MiG-15s get into gear and began flying towards the men and the AC-130, prepared with all the ammo they could load on the plane. Suddenly the warning systems in the MiG-15s blared as they received confirmation of 10 long range radar guided missiles streaking towards them at Mach 4 from beyond radar range. They were fired from a patrolling B-1R and guided by a flight of F-22s that were shadowing any military aircraft in the area. N Reeki, your guys should have some of the weapons we worked on producing in ISAF, so you should be putting up a much better fight than frantically shooting flak cannons. Also, AC-130s fly in atmosphere, most likely too high for conventional weapons to hit them. You'd need to launch some fighters against it. Also, Apollo11, I can try to drag the USB border soldiers toward your country so your reinforcements arrive sooner. I'd also be sending my own reinforcements because USB has shown it will not flinch against forces just matching its own. *EDIT* Nevermind, I see now that you launched MiGs against the AC-130s. IC: --Border-- Commander Gafgarion signaled his forces to withdraw to the west (or would it be south? w/e, towards URPR). He was hoping the USB forces would follow, loosening their control of their border. "I was hoping they would've complied, but perhaps this small force wasn't enough to convince them. IC: -Infiltration- After being asked, several civilians say that Michael Ellis was killed by Kai Wullf on air, Kai not knowing the radio was broadcasting. OOC: As for the capital, think of the Reichtag level from COD:W@W for reference. It would be at least partially destroyed and that will be where the army and Kai make their last stand. Suddenly a volley of cruise missiles loaded with anti-armor and anti-personnel sub-munitions launched from a nearby group of Tu-160's rain down on the tank group pursuing the retreating B.R.A. forces. It is focused mainly on the front of the group to halt their advance. The bomber group then closes in and rains down cluster munitions at the front to further dissuade any idea of forward movement. ____________ The aim-120 missiles impact all of the MiG-15s while the flight of F-22s continues to fly air superiority missions. Acknowledged. We will continue as we had planned, unless you need our men elsewhere. "Roger, we'll meet with them when they--" A series of gunshots and cannon blasts are heard outside Gafgarion's tank. "Gah! They've followed us! Return fire immediately! Don't let them overtake us!" --Infiltration, Capital City-- "Man, they really went crazy in here. The whole place is falling apart!" Adelie was inspecting the team's surroundings as they were searching for the capitol building. The recent hunt for capitalists has left the area decimated from machine gun fire and cannon blasts, as well as the return fire from the capitalist resistance. "We can't stand around here like idiots looking for this building! Let's keep moving." Just then, someone fired a warning shot. "More capitalist pigs! Destroy them!" King dived for cover while firing his rifle, making their attackers move for cover as well. Adelie threw a grenade as she ducked behind an exploded car, and Snares panicked, firing erratically while still standing in the open. "Get down, Snares! What are you doing?!" King reached out to pull him down, but the communists were too fast. They shot him down before King could reach him. "Snares! NO!!!!" King's screams were drowned out by the exploding grenade which also silenced their attackers. "Adelie, get the compress! We've gotta stop the bleeding!" As King was trying to stabilize Snares, they heard a patrol truck coming around the corner. They must have heard the gunshots. "King... you've got... to complete the mission!" Snares managed to gasp. "We can't leave you! We've already lost Rockhopper, I won't let you die too!" "It's... alright. I've got one more pack of C4... been saving it... for a special occasion." The truck was getting closer, the team could hear the soldiers shouting on their bullhorn, looking for their comrades and asking for a sitrep. "Go now... you'll endanger the mission if... you stay!" "Snares... goodbye, my friend. Adelie, let's go." King and Adelie ran for cover inside one of the blown-out buildings. They heard the truck stop and soldiers get out, then some shouting and the truck driving off. Finally, a loud explosion, then silence. Tanks patrolling streets stopped, received a report from troops in the street and started heading towards the explosion.
