After several declarations of war from several nations on Greater Nordland notably the Northern Empire and Rebel Army, a landing on Greater Nordland shores was attempted by Northern Empire forces. The landings were repulsed with heavy losses and the supporting ships were forced to retreat. Nations such as Transvaal have declared their neutrality to protect themselves from the war now spreading through Europe. With reports from the eastern area of Europe suggest that the Slavorussian Empire could be a target for the Kaisers army, the war could get even more deadly. Updates on this will come soon. No news on casualties yet, with also news that the United States of Northern America has launched air strikes on the Northern Empire fleet, which had yet to impact on their targets. The war has be escalating all day and at the moment, the Colstream government has yet to comment. In other news, the Colstream Army has asked for more volunteers as manpower is needed to defend Colstream territory. Colstream government officials have confirmed that the Colstream Army has mobilised fully. They have said "full mobilisation has been started due to the current crisis in Europe. This measure is to protect Colstream from a land or sea invasion." Also the Nuclear Defence Treaty has been activated in Colstream which has placed each population center under full alert. In a statement just minutes ago, the Colstream President has confirmed the order and has affirmed the governments neutrality, despite calls from some Parliament Ministers to side with the Northern Empire against Nordland. President Jack Browning said "We wish to not get involved. Europes problems are the European nations problems. We are only concerned with problems in South America and inside Colstream. If the Europeans want to fight amonst themselves like schoolchildren in a playground then let them. We will distance ourselves from this war as much as we can and protect ourselves from a nuclear attack." More on this as it comes in. Border areas have been strafed by Rebel Air Force aircraft and reports suggest that also targets inside the Slavorussian Empire has also been targeted. Also Nova Roman aircraft have started bombing targets around the southern area of the Slavorussian Empire, with large raids on military targets and Rostov and Volgograd. Heavy civilian losses have been reported and heavy smoke is billowing from both cities. Also "Operation Volga" has been launched by the Nova Roman military to capture Rostov and Volgograd and seize the southern region. Nordland armor and infantry have also started a ground campaign against the Slavorussian Empire, who now has forces streaming from the west and south. Today in the Colstream Capital Ashland, President Jack Browning has rejected another call from opposition members to side with the Northern Empire, stating that "Colstream is within range of nuclear rockets in Europe. Also since Nova Roma who is sided with Greater Nordland is considered an ally by the Colstream Government and with Lubeck and Nova Imperium who is siding with the Northern Empire, Colstream is forced to maintain neutrality and would only enter the war if South America is targeted." This test comes as fighting in Europe intensifies after the Nordland and Nova Roman invasions of the Slavorussian Empire. A Colstream Military spokesman has said that "this test is not a provocation to the European states and not an aggressive action by the Republic Of Colstream's armed forces. The test was a success as the missile hit its projected target 20 minutes ago. This weapon will be installed into Missile Sites all over Colstream. Huge fires have taken hold on the ship and there are reports that it is dead in the water and could be damaged. Colstream Coastguard are currently on their way to the ship which is lying 20 miles off Ashland as it steamed from Europe carrying refugees from the war in Europe. Around 300 of the 1200 passengers are feared dead with many more injured. The Colstream Government is asking for nations to help assist the stricken vessel. VigilantWatcher Posted January 2, 2009 Author Report Share Posted January 2, 2009 European War Upadate 72 hour ceasefire A 72 hour ceasefire has been brokered today by both sides in the current European conflict. It is still unknown whether the ceasefire will hold, but has for the moment lowered the tension surrounding the conflict. President Jack Browning has made no comment on the ceasefire but a military analyst has said that "this 72 hour ceasefire is just a tool to regroup and reinforce the soldiers on the frontline. I expect that after the ceasefire, the battles will be vicious and each side will take many casualties." Inside Colstream, tensions are still high as Colstream soldiers still prepare to defend their homeland despite the current ceasefire. Military leaders have ordered many defensive positions built on all beaches with the civilian population prohibited from being within a mile of the coastline. Around 75% of the passengers and all of the crew survived but 270 passengers were killed. No-one has taken responsibility for this incident but one man has been arrested after being found with 12 more C4 charges on him. He has said that he is a former member of the now defunct World Anarchy Front who was responisble for many terror outrages around the world. However due to the current situation in New Roma and the Byzantine Province, the Colstream Army soldiers on the northern border remain on high alert. A Colstream Army spokesperson has siad that "due to the coup in the Byzantine Province of New Roma, the military units in the north are in a state of high alert in case of sudden instability in the area." Ashland Police Department riot squads are now controlling a furious crowd now spilling over into the embassy district, intent on reaching the Nova Imperium embassy. Riot Police have used tear gas and water cannons along with rubber bullets in attempts to restrict the rioters movements. The Colstream Government has no comment on the riots at this time. We also have police snipers watching the area with orders to shoot on sight. If any are arrested, they will be put in your custody. Arrests are made as rioting worsens The current riots in Ashland have worsened and damage has been reported in the city centre. At the moment 9 rioters are in custody when they tried to attempt a scaling the Nova Imperium embassy walls with a ladder. Death on the Railway A man has been killed trying to cross the Ashland-Washington section of the Colstream Railway Network at Haretan Station. He was hit at 12:28 by the 12:17 Colstream Trains Ashland Central to Gretan Service that was passing Haretan Station at 110 MPH line speed. A Colstream Military spokesperson commented "now the situation in the north is over, the measures put in place including the beach exclusion order will be repealed and the beaches turned over back to public use. Railway Death Verdict: Acccident The man killed at Haretan Station is 25 year oldHarry Giles, a well known Martencist supporter. He was said to be despressed after the European War ended in Martens defeat. He had become withdrawn and unwilling to go back to work at the Colstream Oil Carata Platform 12 miles off the Colstream south coast. Minister Mickey Bethesda would like to go forward with the Embassy Establishment, but wants to make sure that it is still the desire of the Colstream Republic to enter Endor Cuidad.
