[/quote] I believe it was a holdover from when you used to need to ask the staff to put you in a special usergroup for your alliance, which included a pip. [/quote] No, it was legitimately just NPO being completely ridiculous. I would actually wear NPO's pip just to dick around with them, but it's really ridiculously awful looking and I don't want it on my posts.
